take me the way i am

Things are not going well lately. I hate the slow progress in my work. I have myself to blame. As I stared at the screen of my office pc yesterday, this song came up on YahooLaunchcast and put a smile on my overfrowned face. I love the easy listening tunes.

Sharing it with you now.

Have a good weekend people.
My weekend is on hold.

another manic monday

Monday and corrupted file.

Backup system gone loco.

I H.A.T.E. my laptop.

Anika Moa is singing on a stage right next to this building.

I can hear it from here.

Everyone's having fun on the lawn.

I'm stuck in the office rewriting 5 hours of work lost in that damned corrupted file.

*bang head on keyboard*

On another note, if you have sometime, please sedekah AlFatihah to Allahyarham Mohd Faizal bin Ahmad Kamil. He was a new student who spent only 2 days on NZ land before he was called to meet The Maker. I did not know him, received news of his death in my email. *Al Fatihah*

In the news:

Death at Massey Hostel

By CHRISTIAN BONNEVIE - Manawatu Standard | Friday, 22 February 2008

The university year has begun with tragedy following the death of an international student at Massey University's Rotary Court hall of residence in Palmerston North.

Mohd Faizal bin Ahmad Kamil, 20, from Malaysia, died on Wednesday night from what is believed to be an asthma attack. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and the case has been referred to the coroner.

Fellow students found Mr Kamil, a Muslim, unconscious in his room about 7pm. Attempts to revive him, firstly by staff and subsequently by paramedics, were unsuccessful.

Mr Kamil had only moved into the halls two days earlier.

He was enrolled to study towards a bachelor of science degree, majoring in mathematics.

His family in Malaysia have been notified and cultural requirements associated with the death have been handed over to the Islamic Centre on campus and the surrounding Muslim community, Massey spokesman James Gardiner said.

It is often preferable for followers of Islam that they be buried within 24 hours of their death.

"It's one of those very sad situations that you can't predict," Mr Gardiner said.

"For most of these students in the halls it is likely the first time they've had to deal with death. If anyone does need it, we have counsellors on staff they can speak with."

Rotary Court residents and staff were yesterday shocked and saddened by the incident and many students expressed their sympathies to Mr Kamil's family.

To the moon & back

tonight

Somewhere in a private place
She packs her bags for outer space
And now shes waiting for the right
Kind of pilot to come
And she'll say to him
She's saying

I would fly to the moon and back
If you'll be
If you'll be my baby
Got a ticket for a world
Where we belong
So would you be my baby?

.savage garden. to the moon and back.

fly me to the moon, would you?
.please.

urghhhh...

Labour pain must be VERY painful (I'm guessing here) ... but there is a reward at the end. You get a baby. Yeay!!!
I am NOT getting any.

Menstrual cramps are painful too... but what do you get?
Used napkins that you dump in the bin! *sigh*. Utterly wasteful!

Getting mense cramps in combo with a headache: absolute misery.

Oh what a Monday!

You Are an Espresso

At your best, you are: straight shooting, ambitious, and energetic

At your worst, you are: anxious and high strung

You drink coffee when: anytime you're not sleeping

Your caffeine addiction level: high
What Kind of Coffee Are You?

Ubi's comment: EXACTLY!

If I cut myself now, I think I'd bleed in black!

the world outside my window 2 : birds

The reason why I don't write much these days is that I have lots and lots of writing to be done somewhere else on something else that I don't plan to write about here. I don't think I have ever written something worth reading on this blog anyway. I only write craps, kan?

So besides putting myself in front of my pc till my butts almost grow roots, I do welcome distractions once in while. No, not distraction from the humankind but from visitors outside my window. They're beautiful creatures. Tapi berak merata!

Pagi-pagi kalau bukak curtain, dia lah yang terbang dulu

He/she would notice everytime I come close to my window

Pecking on dianella seed pod

lepas makan dia berak sepah-sepah on the footway!

Sitting on kowhai tree, I can name the tree but burung ni spesis ape pun kutak tau laaa..

Ubi: lapar!!!

Have fun & stay safe.

I wear this in the spirit of the new year. It fits well now (yes, I've gained weight).
