Despite the dark setting and themes, it was also heavy and on the insta lust/insta love. Ofelia and Fabián were all in from the moment they crossed eyes with each other and they really helped temper the darker parts of the book. I’m intrigued and excited for me. ...more

I got an arc of it way back last year but because of my anxiety, I wasn’t in the headspace to read anything but sweet romance. I finally read Ink the other day and jumped straight into Miguel right after and really enjoyed it.
I just recently became profoundly deaf. I have a cochlear implant now but I basically lap up any representation of deafness in media. I appreciated that Jade used a sensitivity reader in relation to the Deaf characters in an effort to portray them to the best of her knowledge. I loved how the characters all interacted with Desi and Zeke!
I found Lorena a bit harder to relate to because she was such a goody two shoes but I loved the way she embraces Zeke and eventually Miguel. Her sunshine to his stoic was cute.
I’m going to have to send Jade my therapy bills after giving me an 80% conflict and then a 90%. The damn audacity! ...more

I loved how freaking psycho Xiomara is how well that paired with Ink and the MC. It also wasn’t really that dark! There was some violence but it was almost fade to black because Xiomara’s rage took over and she blacked out. I’m definitely intrigued enough to read the second book!...more

It was a time jump from the previous book and Rhi and Zane are now besties living together. They end up fake dating for awhile to avoid the matchmaking Z’s family kept foisting on him which was hilariously cringe to experience.
I loved the friendship between these two in the first book so I’m glad they got their own story. It was clear from the get go that they meshed really well together. I loved the scenes of Zane cooking for her and caring for her the most. It was pretty dang cute that he fell first but it didn’t take long for Rhi to join the page.
The family/found family aspect in these books is really precious. Everyone supports and loves everyone from the parents down to the wee ones and it’s so sweet. I loved the scenes with Rhi and the kids, especially her moments with Brielle. It’s clear they were all bonded with super glue.
I liked that even though there was a bit of angst towards the end, there was no third act breakup. Rhi and Zane were happily in love and there to stay.
Overall this was a very sweet, small town, fake dating, bff to lovers romance and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We got a sneak peak into the next story and I’m so intrigued! I’m a sucker for a single dad romance so I can’t wait to read this one!...more
