The beginning was a little slow for me but midway through I was absolutely hooked and couldn’t put it down. I ended up staying up till 3am on a Monday just so I could finish it and find out more! Now I’m just annoyed I have to wait for the next book because Kayla left it on a massive cliffhanger and I have to somehow survive without knowing till the next story.
I enjoyed getting to know Sophie and Ethan and found all the little twists and turns fascinating. I could totally relate to Sophie’s habitual hermit life and was impressed that Ethan wasn’t a drone and actually showed his emotion without being ashamed of it. I can’t wait to see how the plot twist at the end comes into play with the next book and how it might affect Sophie and Ethan but until then, I’ll just have to re-read book 1 again.
P.S. Honourable mention goes out to those steamy scenes between our main characters. Kayla wrote just enough to give you an idea and then left the rest to your imagination and it worked. Very well. ...more

The characters were fresh and interesting and I couldn’t quite tell who was bad and who was good. In the end it became clear that it definitely wasn’t a black and white story. Each character had good traits and horrible traits and it made it so much easier to relate to them. I loved Darlington and I enjoyed Pammie opening up to Alex as they learned to appreciate each other.
The Bridegroom was a fun twist I wasn’t expecting but really enjoyed! I hope we get more pair ups like that in future books!...more

It felt good to hang out with the usual gang again; Roarke, Peabody, McNab, etc. and watch as Eve struggles to deal with a terrible victim and an even worse killer. ...more

The writing was a little infuriating at times and I found it painfully obvious that the characters were teenagers with the way they acted but I still thoroughly enjoyed myself. I have to admit it’s one of the first books series I’ve read in awhile where I couldn’t quite tell how it was going to end which made it a truly refreshing read! I loved the honest way the main three characters embraced their feelings and how it didn’t necessarily overpower the rest of the action. Plus the redemption of Kaden was beautiful and I wish we had more time with him, Rhys and Pauline!...more

Craig managed to break my heart and heal it a million times over. It broke for Eulalie, for the triplets, for Fisher, for Cassius but especially for Annaleigh. It was so hard to read along and not know what was real and what was a trick, who was the bad guy and who wasn’t.
I’m thankful it ended the way it did. It was beautiful and wrapped the story nicely. I hope Annaleigh and Cassius lived a long and happy life together....more
