Despite the dark setting and themes, it was also heavy and on the insta lust/insta love. Ofelia and Fabián were all in from the moment they crossed eyes with each other and they really helped temper the darker parts of the book. I’m intrigued and excited for me. ...more

Lake and Pen were perfect for each other. I liked that they didn’t jump straight into bed. They had years of being besties but the fact that they took time getting to know the romantic sides of each other first made all the difference.
Alexandra Hale is a one-click author for me and I don’t see that changing any time soon. I can’t wait to see what’s next!...more

This was a fun little introduction to Luke and Bertie’s budding romance. They were awfully cute together and I loved how much of a cinnamon roll Luke was.
I don’t want to spoil it for anyone but the ending has one of my all time fave tropes and I cannot wait to read their full-length novel!...more

I also want to give a special shoutout to Marta, Ian’s housekeeper. She was an absolute sweetie and I especially loved when they all did the decorating together

Haven definitely stole the show but I loved how well Vienna fit into their family. She was such an excellent role model for Haven and you could tell she really loved her. This little found family of 3 gave me all the warm fuzzy vibes.
It was fun seeing all the cameos from characters in the author’s other books. The text thread had me giggling a bit.

Being a novella it was all very fast but not in a particularly cringey way. Once Phoenix pulled his head out, him and Aspen were pretty darn cute together!
I liked the little cameos and name drops we got of Hale’s other characters from Clementine Creek to Blackstone Falls.
