Ms Michaels has a gift for creating fast paced sexy shifter series and this one didn't disappoint, I was lucky enough to find this on my Kindle quite soon after the first book had been reviewed, so I soon slipped back into the Highland Wolf Clan pack and all the cool characters.
Cameron 'Sin' Sinclair is the Reluctant Alpha to not one but 2 packs now! boy has he got his hands full, but with a strong team of pack mates he is trying to rid the remaining bad eggs from the pack lands.
When things are looking like they are getting better, a child is found dead... who would do such a despicable crime? It soon seems that there still lingers a cruel legacy from the past.
Cam's love life is also causing him to loose sleep, his mate lies in a coma and all he can think about is staying by her side, be soon realises that to be Alpha means putting your needs in second place, and he has to leave her side to look for the killer.
Ms Michaels writes strong sassy female characters, and Hot Hot Alpha males... pick up this series and delve into the Highland pack - they wear KILTS (imagination overload!!! - Outlander TV fan here)
Thanks to the Author for letting me review this series. I will be getting a signed set when I visit Scotland!

Having met the lovely T.K. Leigh at #RWDU15 and I was told to buy her books by numerous people and authors (which I did - I bought the The Beautiful Mess Series with my last cash)
I have had her on my watch list, so I jumped at the chance to review her new book Chasing the Dragon about Mackenzie and Tyler 'Swoon'
This story is so intense, the writing just draws you into the pages, you will not want to put it down! and let me warn you - as you reach 98% of the book you will start to feel the cliff hanger, I was like nooo nooo I don't want this to end!
From beginning to the end I felt for Mackenzie, she is just a loveable heroine, trying to be strong and achieve her goals, she tried to ignore Tyler, but the intense feelings were too much to ignore and she decides to give him a chance.
Join her as she 'Chases the Dragon' with Tyler, you will be waiting on tender hooks like me for book 2.
So what do I think of Tyler (well I want to throttle him one second and hug him the next) Tyler has a hard task on his hands trying to not let his heart rule his head,or visa versa, I think his mission brief is flawed and that his heart is on the right track, but hopefully in book 2 things will become clear and he will get his chance to prove his love to Mackenzie.
In the synopsis it says there is a slight spoiler for the Beautiful Mess series, but until I read the paperbacks sat on my shelf, I don't know what it was nor did this being a spin off series cause any issues in me following the story line nor the characters.
So if you haven't read any of T.K. Leigh's books and you want to start with this one - I would say go for it. I loved it!
Thank you TK for giving a sneak peek into what is in store at the end, you saved me from chucking my phone on the desk!

I love TV Series like Stargate, Star Trek, Firefly, V (the list goes on) so this book really intrigued me as I haven't read a sci-fi book in ages, years maybe and I used to read them constantly as a teenager.
The Heroine Asia Burdette has lost Three hours of her past, and 3 years later even though she has moved away and has come to terms with that night, she is consumed with the 3 hours before her life crashed and burned.
She has had no success in remembering until Dr Ethan Roberts, the young psychiatrist seems to have the key to unlocking the secrets of those 3 hours, but what he discovers may very well put both their lives in danger.
The pair are also very attracted to each other, and after their Dr/Patient relationship ends, Aisa is determined to act on their attraction, she's fed up with being alone and Ethan makes her want to live and gives her hope for a brighter future.
But when 'Men in Black' turn up when they are finally piecing things together, they barely escape with their lives, its a good job Aisa is a smart cookie who can defend herself and she is not a wilting damsel in distress either, no this duo make a great team as they investigate the leads that are pointing at a great Conspiracy by the government to cover up the use of mind control, alien abduction, and interstellar slavery.
Ethan's past also is entwined in this suspenseful thriller and my mind was full of conspiracy theories as I read the book, I was right about a few things but surprised with a few others, and oh boy I want to read more of this series, as there are so many avenues you could explore in this world.
I must make more of an effort to read more sci-fi as I thoroughly enjoyed being transported into Ms Frelick's world.
The writing flows well, the plot builds and then picks up the pace as they uncover the truth and ends with a tense rescue and a lovely epilogue. ...more

In book 4 we meet Dr. Katherine “Kat” Arnold who was passed from foster home to foster home in the town of Independence Falls until she was too old to earn the foster parents the money the government paid. Kat was determined to rise above her beginnings and with her scholarship to Harvard she left the town and vowed never to return. Until she is sent to treat Josh Summers, the brother of Brody Summers her childhood crush.
Sarah Jane Stone has written a really beautiful story that was quite a coincidence really as literally before I picked this book up, I had been reading about a Charity called Footsteps which was started by a young girl named Mackenzie who wanted to buy 17'ooo pairs of shoes to represent the 17,000 children in Arizona where she herself was until she was adopted. So to then pick up this book and find that the main female lead was herself in foster care - well it really made the character real for me, and the story mean so much more.
Brody is everything you would want in a Hero, he has always put his family and friends first, and even in the past he wanted to help Kat, but he never saw her as Kat saw him.... UNTIL NOW! She literally knocks him off his feet! To Brody family comes first, and he takes his role as a Search and Rescue Member very seriously too, coming straight from a search to pick the expected Doctor who is coming to see his brother, tired and frustrated Kat recognises him, but Brody does not realise who Kat is, but what he does see makes him want to forget his responsibilities and let loose.
They have one Hot night, but Kat knows she will pay for it in the morning when he realises that she is in fact the doctor he is picking up to treat his brother. Brody being the responsible sibling tries to keep a professional distance, but Kat makes it very difficult for him and they spend their free time together, But Kat is guarded and all she wants is a fling while she is in Independence Falls... Brody is fine with that to start with, but eventually realises he wants more, can Brody break through her shell and show her that someone does want to love her forever? Well I thoroughly enjoyed finding out, I hope you enjoy it too.

I've been waiting impatiently for the next instalment of Lex and Lincoln's story, and after the cliff hanger of an ending in book 1 I can say that every reader will be very happy by the end of chapter one...
Now I don't want to write any spoilers, so I'm not going to be able to write lots of what I want to say, but here's what I liked about it...
We get to meet Caden... the Doctor who appears at the end of book one, and he's the perfect mixture of honour, compassion and loyalty, with a dash of handsome boy next door, We get to enjoy a light and enjoyable time with Lexia as she try's to forget the present dangers and just enjoy her birthday, and she gets a surprise birthday visitor.
There's a lot of hot scenes in the book.
We also get more information on how Lexia was created, we get to meet the villain of the story, Lexia's mum Lucy... Boy what a complete psychopath she is...
I can't wait for the next installment .... Ms Raithby get writing ASAP ...more
I was lucky to receive an Arc of this book and having not read any of Ms Quinn's work before I know I will want to read the next book, from the momentI was lucky to receive an Arc of this book and having not read any of Ms Quinn's work before I know I will want to read the next book, from the moment I started the book to the time I finished it, I was engrossed by the storyline, characters and the music playlist that accompanies the book. Its a really good playlist. some of my favourite lines from the book were:
'Dandelions didn’t get to choose where they grew and neither did I.'
'I feel the weight of time passing, slipping through my fingers faster than I can hold on to it.'
'I need so very little to exist. Air. Water. Oz. Music. And for my heart to just beat. Just keep beating.'
'I’m lace and daisies and a fiddle on my grandparent’s back porch. Dirt roads and dandelions…'
Reading the authors descriptions of the gigs and the band practicing you can almost hear the magic of the fiddle and the as you read, I could really picture Dixie loosing herself on stage and creating a Southern Stomping beat. Dixie is the main POV and her journey is a hard road from a loving but poor background, where both Dixie and her Brother Dallas are encouraged to pursue their music by their Grandfather. Dallas has a best friend, Gavin, who has been with them from the day their parents were killed, his upbringing was rough and he spent most of his childhood staying as far away from his home as he could. His childhood promise to treat his best friends sister with respect has kept his feelings for her locked up - But Dixie has had enough, she wants to feel the passion she knows they both have, and is determined to show Gavin that he should stop worrying what Dallas will do and put their feelings first.
If you love sassy Female leads, Music themed books and HOT men then pick up this book and find out how the passion of music and the determination of the three band members take them on the the journey from the country bars to the Bright lights of Austin.
I really look forward to reading more of Ms Quinns books, and can't wait for book 2 ...more

This series needs to be read in order, and the main character is Katherine Moore AKA Kate or Katie Grace, but in saying that the supporting characters are also great - and the story wouldn't be the same without their constant input into the storyline. We get to see their relationships grow throughout the books too.
Kate's first love was Michael Matthews, and they met when they were 7 years old, when she and Jessica, her best friend were introduced to him when he moved to their town, Katie and Micheal eventually become boyfriend and girlfriend, but if you have read book 1 Breaking Kate, you will know that circumstances happen that rip the pair apart. 3 years later and they meet again... but Kate's moved on and is actually in love with Michael's best friend Daniel.
Things have never been smooth for Kate, and when fate puts more hurdles in her path to true love, she makes a grave mistake and as she tries to make amends her life gets complicated... with the knowledge that a baby is on the way, but who is the father, and although Kate should be upset with Micheal and Daniel and their ex Vanessa Kate and her her ever huge heart puts the welfare of Vanessa and the baby in front of her feelings and goes above and beyond to help a lonely girl in need.
With all this and College Graduation gaining rapidly she has never been so unsure of where her future lies.
Loving Kate is the third and final full-length novel in The Acceptance Series, and it is JAMMED PACKED with drama and tears of laughter and sadness (YES this is a Kleenex Rating of 3+ so be warned you will need something to wipe your tears).
I am not going to write any more because this series really is one that needs to be read without too much information to gain the most from the story the author is telling.
D. Kelly is probably 2nd in line to my Ugly Cry Authors - there has always been an unexpected twist at the end of each installment, but the good news is that with Book 3 out now all you lucky readers can read them all in one hit if you haven't already read the first and second books.
If you want a story about a great group of friends who are more like family, then this series is for you.
With life there are ups and downs, tragedy and triumph and above all a HEA... Ms Kelly makes you work for it but she does give you a wonderful HEA in this book.
I bawled my eyes out as I read the last 10%... HAPPY TEARS but still they were flowing freely (Hubby thinks I am cray cray for reading books that make me sob my guts up!)
Ms Kelly has a writing style that is easy to follow, the POV switches at chapters and it is good as you get to see whats happening from each of the main characters POV.
Some parts are pure genius , Ms Kelly lulling you to relax and enjoy whats happening and then BAM hitting you where it hurts, but I guess that is a good indication of a good story/Author because it would be so boring to read a predictable story line, and I can say that nothing in this book was predictable - I may have got 2 twists but I read for a living so to speak and I have got good at guessing what happens next, but for saying that, it was only an inkling and I was like - I KNEW IT! when it was finally revealed, and in a good way not bad.
So in conclusion, if you want a book that will keep you on your toes, make you work for that HEA because Life isn't a Fairytale... then I will say read this series I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I have....more

This is the first book I have read of Ms O'Leary's and Reveal*** This book was gifted for an honest review with the release tour for Book 2 - Forsaken
This is the first book I have read of Ms O'Leary's and Revealed starts off with a bang, Kelly (Kali) has been kidnapped and is nearly at the end of her strength, shes's ready to give up, but unknown to her a hero is on his way with his team to rescue her.
Kelly is one of The Found she was one of the children that appeared from nowhere at the same time, all over the world and found by people who eventually took them in.
All the children were unaware of their past, but were found to be all human by the tests initially done by the respective governments. But it soon seemed they were 'Gifted' in different ways, and now when they are adults it seems different factions are after the 'Found' whether to kill or to torture, or worse!
Kali (as a child named Kelly when first asked her name as the story progresses after the first initial chapters she is known as Kali or Kelly depending on how the person knows of her), when rescued by A team of specialists lead by Samuel Noah Kukailimoku, a Hawaian who is also 'Found' the pair begin to remember parts of their past before the day they arrived on earth.
Now if you want to know more then I urge you to buy this book as its really gripping story that has kept me glued to my kindle for 2 days. I do love a story that keeps you guessing and Ms O'Leary definitely had me gripped turning the pages well into the night.
There are a lot of characters in the book, but its easy to follow and as the book progresses each one slots into their part to the story, and One character mentioned but not introduced is the main character of book 2.
Ms Leary has set down strong foundations for a series that I am going to follow, as its not often that I am kept in the dark at what is around the corner in a book. The book is 338 pages long and each one is packed and entertaining.
There is sexual content in this book, which I don't mind but even if there hadn't have been - the interactions between Kelly (Kali) and Sam (Noah) are so well written that you see that they have a great connection both now and before they were The Found.
Kali is no damsel in distress and Noah soon realises that she will not be left in the dark, and together they make a really formidable pair, trying to find out who was behind the kidnapping and protect their other fellow The Found children
I look forward to seeing what Book 2 brings. ...more

But when you read this book my opinion changed, he is so determined to use his gift to help people, and he really misses Annie.
But Seth's “found” abilities, make him the ideal DEA Undercover Agent but after nearly 2 years its even getting too much for him.
Annie Newman, was left behind and Annie never got to tell him her news, so now Annie and her daughter Nell are being cared for by Seth's family.
But Nell is 'Found' and Annie and Nell are in danger, So Noah and Kali and the rest of the team are keeping them safe, while searching for Seth.
Annie is a really tough cookie, a great mom too, and at least she has one thing that keeps her going... her dreams, and when she finally realises that the dreams are real, she sees a way to help him finish his undercover role and come home to her and Nell.
With Annie determined to help in the last sting, her life is literally in Seth's hands but he can't let on that he knows her.
This book keeps you gripped to it as everything unfolds.
Will Seth manage to save Annie, and gather enough evidence to smash the crime ring?

Now she has a new series full of Sexy Scottish Shifters!
Cameron Sinclair is a successful multi-billionaire business man, he's an Alpha in the boardroom, but he has a secret – he’s also a Wolf.
And oh boy did I just drool over Cam - he's his own man, scarred by his fathers treatment he is a reluctant Alpha - happy to use his skills in the business world, but has no intentions of leading a wolf pack and left the pack lands as soon as he was able too.
His father summons him - and his mother pleads for him to return home to hear his father out.
Cameron returns with his right hand man Jinx, and after hearing his father out heads off to the US, with several of his old pack friends for backup.
When he gets to his Uncles pack he realises their troubles are more serious than they thought, can Cameron and his friends save the Pack?
There is a twist in this shifter story that gives a new dimension to the wolves, which I really enjoyed and the guys from Scotland have a few decisions to make...

Charli has a tough road ahead and I didn't blame her for cutting off contact with Adam. He needs to grow up and realise what is important... love or a fancy job. I didn't forgive him for his selfishness till right at the end of the story. I have been following H.J. Bellus since I promoted The My Way Series and the synopsis of the first book of the series just had me hooked to her storytelling, and I am still trying to find time to read that darn book! (sorry Heidi - I am so swamped on the blog that my personal reading list gets neglected and Yep That Girlwas also on my TBR!
So since I had signed up for the release blitz for the 3rd book in That Girl Series,Her SoldierI made sure I had time to read this book... and OH BOY - I knew that I was right to help promote this lady, Reading this book first I think has actually given me more of a perspective of the characters, so in a way I am glad I was swamped, and also that I was so hooked by these characters - I ignored my blog review diary and started That Girl straight after this book, as I just wasn't ready to forget these characters and their journeys to find their HEA.
So what did I think to HER SOLDIER... BUY IT - its Freeking awesome, from start to finish Ms Bellus hooked me with our lovely broken soldier 'Beau Morgan' AKA Jeremiah Abbner and the glitzy Jenni whom he rescues one night.
As they try to deal with their past and their obvious attraction we join them for an emotional roller coaster - and Yep the hankies were out in force a few times in this book, at one point I wanted to bash this broken soldier in the head, and maybe the Author for then twisting the knife a bit more in my heart as I read.
BUT I can't be too mad with Ms Bellus, after all isn't that why we book addicts read - TO FEEL - To Go along on the ride as these fictional characters find love, loss or redemption?? Well that's why can't give up reading or watching movies & TV for that matter - I love it, and long may I continue to be a dreamer, to escape from reality whenever possible, and may all the talented people who create these escapes continue to do so!
I hope from my ramblings I have given you enough without spoiling the ride, I HATE SPOILER REVIEWS! And I love that I read this book without any clue to what was going on... it made it all the more real as this pair of unlikely soul-mates healed their hearts together.
I must say its not often that an author can write a series that has a set of characters that are linked but that which each book can be read in any order but honestly I think me reading book 3 then book 1 was no issue at all, and I know that I really want to know how Linc finds love in 'The Game' so i will be up till the wee hours trying to get a window where I can fit it in, and then make time for Cree and the boys, and the rest of Ms Bellus back collection! ...more

I expected this book to be a Paranormal/Shifter plot line to begin with, but Emma Michaels has given a new twist to the idea of a human/animal hybrid which was refreshing, and I look forward to seeing how the series progresses.
I really couldn't put this book down and a late night was involved, with an early morning rise to carry on - This is a series and it does leave it on a cliffhanger.
So what can I tell you without spoiling the book for you?
The Main Female Character is Iris, She has lead a sheltered life, home schooled and an Asthmatic so her health is a major concern for her father and the housekeeper who looks after her. Iris has a confused past, her mother is dead and she doesn't remember much about her, and her father is vague at answering any questions.
She is a very deep character who is wanting to spread her wings, the only escape she has are her dreams and these are always the same - she dreams of flying to Never Never land (no not Peter pans island) but this island feels like home to her, she always gets to a certain part but then wakes up.
Then one day she gets news that she is to go on a journey to an island... and the mysterious journey begins.
There is a romantic interest for Iris in this story, and his name is Falcon, now there are a number of secrets that will be unfolded as the story progresses But Falcon is and always has been in love with Iris - even if she doesn't remember.
The author has told this story with little background information in the beginning, so you find out what's happening in real time, at the same time as Iris I loved the mystery and it kept me engaged and excited to find out what would happen next.
I have noticed that when searching for buy links that this book may be a second addition and there is a copy on Google Play with a different cover - so I would like to point out that I reviewed the Book with the White Cover with the Face and Owl and it has more pages (206 pages) and is published by Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly Publishing and that the other edition that was found was Published October 13th 2012 by Tribute Books (first published August 21st 2012) .
This is not unusual for series books and I can say that this edition was well done, edited well and formatting was good.
The world building and character development made it easy to get lost in Never Never land and the suspenseful storyline.
This book has an individuality that will engage any reader - young or old, the budding relationship between Iris and Falcon and his unfailing desire to do anything needed to keep her safe touched my romantic soul.
There will be some moments in the book that make you grab for the kleenex but on the whole the story is quite optimistic and I look forward to seeing how Iris and her comrades deal with the upcoming events in book 2.
Sorry for being so vague - BUT this book is best read blind, as I did.
Well worth 5 stars - and I want book 2 ASAP

BEST ONE YET! AWESOME! 10 st *** Reviewed as part of the Release Tour on Kats Book Promotions and a copy was gifted in exchange for my honest review***
[image] Please note this is book 2 in the Rock series but its all about T-Rex and Charlie, we only get snippets of conversations with Molly. AND THAT'S A OK WITH ME! And Can be read as a Stand Alone if you haven't read book 1 yet.
I wanted to read this since book 1 when Charlie was having her conversations with Molly about how she was having issues with her new boss. So Nalini has not disappointed me one bit.
We have T-Rex AKA Gabriel "The Bishop" ex Rock Star of the rugby field (see not music themed, but in New Zealand Rugby Stars are GODS!. But hes not all brawn - nope hes got a sharp mind as well as a HAWT Bod!!!! And hes just as much as a predator in business, as he was on the Field, and his talents are saving companies on the verge of collapse.
He plays to win, knows what he wants, and he will use his sharp mind to win his goal - and that goal is...
Charlotte Baird.
Charlotte is a smart lady, she just wants to do her job and remain as invisible as possible, she is working late due to her diligence to her job, and how Ms. Baird first meets her new boss is hilarious!
She is sure she will be shown the door because of it, plus Gabriel has shown his ruthless side by cleaning out the dead wood in her company, when she is called up to the CEOs office she is sure this is it, BUT T-Rex has other ideas.
And instead of her being fired she's now T-Rex's PA!
How is the mouse going to cope? Well shes technically been doing the job anyway and shes smart enough to know that she can't say no, so she just takes one day at a time while T-Rex leaves carnage in his wake.
Soon T-Rex is intrigued by his "little Ms Baird" BUT this man is smart, he can see that there is more to Charlotte than just shyness and he must play this game slowly and carefully. [image]
Thus begins his slow campaign to get Ms Baird to trust him.
Gabriel takes his time, he baits Charlotte, a little at a time (some of the interactions are just LOL) [image] And slowly she realises that she shouldn't let the past dictate her future.
Gabriel doesn't push to find out what the issues are and it is a while till we find out what happened to her, but I quite liked that, as the 'Insta-Love" of Book 1 actually grated on me.
As Charlotte gets braver, Gabe declares his intentions and introduces her to his family and slowly she knows that she can trust her feelings and Gabriel to tell him the truth.
This book is driven by these two determined characters as they slowly take one step at at time to conquer the demons of Charlotte's past so they can have an actual relationship.
BRAVO Nalini - I am so glad you did not gloss over and make it easy, I am sure that it most definitely is not when a woman has to confront these demons.
I loved Charlotte and as she got stronger, she began to stand up and show Gabriel that a relationship is not one sided, and we got to see what demons had shaped Gabriel into the driven man he is today.
There is a shadow from the past who begins to affect Charlotte's recovery but in the end she realises that she can beat her fear and move forward. [image]
I loved how Gabriel is both Strong but Gentle at the same time, and I hope that we get to see more of not only Charlotte and Gabriel, but his brothers and their family too. I have always found that Nalini's supporting characters are so interesting, you want them to have a book each!

Hidden away from the mother who calls her Maura, she has had to fight the Teams of Hunters under the direction of the mother who heads the secret army of Super soldiers. She puts up a good fight, but then when given no choice has to give it up to save the man she loves - Lincoln.
As the synopsis says
She's given up her soul, her humanity, and now, there is only one question left. Can she create her own destiny or is she bound to follow the fate set for her before she was born? Maura? Lexia? Only one thing is certain; war is coming.
When War is inevitable, the question is how long do you wait to fight back, how many should be sacrificed to ensure that the end game has a fighting chance at an outcome that will be for the Good Side. These are the decisions that Lexia can't deal with so she is hiding behind Maura. Maura doesn't care, she doesn't feel.... But sometimes even hiding doesn't work.
If you are a paranormal fan then this series is for you, Lexia was the Debut Novel for Rachel, and as the series has developed you can see that Rachel's writing style has developed also, she has a great imagination, I have re-read Lexia and WOD and each time I pick up more of story line I will definitely be keeping this in my re-read shelf. The struggle Lexia has with the two sides of her personality is also a good aspect of this book, its good that she struggles with the moral aspects of submitting to be her mothers puppet. There are a few twists, and some more characters introduced. Can the shifter world unite to defeat Lucy Hunter and the army of enhanced humans known as 'Hunters' can Lexia stay buried underneath the psyche of Maura? There's not much in the romance department in this installment due our hero and heroine being apart, but there's certainly lots of romance and action in the end.
Rachel has really grown with her writing and it shows in this final book. Well I recommend that you buy the books and see for yourself and I look forward to seeing where Ms Raithby's imagination takes us next time seeing where Ms Raithby's imagination takes us next time...more
"You believe in vengeance?" "You mean like revenge?" He shakes his head. "Revenge is a selfish act. Retaliation for something. Vengeance is a different thing altogether. It's about obtaining justice, usually for someone who can't claim it for themselves."
Callie Hart has become one of those authors that I just want to read no matter her genre, She hooked me with the Blood and Roses Series, and kept me hooked. I have waited in anticipation for this book since the end of the Blood & Roses books, when she left us a teaser in the back of REBEL. That was it I knew that we would find out what was behind the enigmatic Prez of The Widow Makers. Rebel was a character who was an enigma, who was painted as a Dark Unforgiving Leader of a ruthless gang of criminal bikers. But you can't judge a book by its cover!
The layers are peeled back in this book, we are given glimpses to Rebel's past, how he runs his crew, and how he became involved in Slone Romera's Missing Sister Alexis (Sophia).
In the space of an evening and late night read, she's hooked me again on not 1 book but 2 (??? you are saying - well all I am going to say on that point is read ALL the pages, carry on reading after the end and click the link, and then all will be revealed)
Rebel is the first of s a 3 part series, but the book does not leave you hanging like Deviant did, so its not too bad, Callie has been kind to her readers in this book by ending it at a logical Plot pause, leaving you happy with the progress in Rebel and Sophia's relationship, but keeping you hooked enough to know that this book is only the taste of things to come.
Now there is not a lot of sex in this book (I can't believe some people have reduced a rating for that!) BUT I for one am GLAD that there is no "insta-Love" I mean COME ON!!! who in there right mind is going to want to jump your captures bones in the first 5 minutes!
I am glad that Callie had the integrity to stay the course and write this in a believable way, in Blood & Roses we were left wondering how on earth Sophia would have left her family in the dark, but in this series Callie has shown in just the first installment how lines get blurred and answers no longer are black and white, but shades of MURKY GREY.
I started this book at 4pm, and I just couldn't stop reading until the end... around 3am this morning!
The writing style is descriptive, we get flashbacks of Rebel's past, we have characters who are introduced and will obviously become more key as the books go along. Of course there are those who are going to end up casualties of the WAR that is going to happen because of the actions of a certain Cartel Drug lord, if you have read Blood & Roses some of the characters will be familiar.
IF you haven't then you won't have a problem reading this book, then jumping to Deviant (which is FREE) while you wait for the next installment of Deadmans Ink.
So Kudos Callie - Can't wait to get my hands on the REAL DEAL Paperback in March!! WHOOP WHOOP.
ARC generously provided by the author for the Release tour in exchange for an honest review (but as you can see from the above statement - I am buying it!)
I recommend this series if you have wanted to read an MC book but you are not too sure if you are ready for all that MC Violence and Mayhem. This is more than just an excuse to write about bad boy bikers with tats - its a story of a man who would stop at nothing to find justice for those who can't get it themselves.

Let me first say WOW... I am seriously addicted toBlair Babylon books her imagination whether it be Crime, Rockstar or Billionaire, She creates a world where you are immersed with colourful and diverse characters and situations that you don't want to escape from, in fact after finishing this book I clicked on the Free copy link and downloaded Rae's story! I look forward to seeing what URBAN FANTASY she will deliver us soon :D
I first got addicted to Blairs writing with What a Girl Wantsand of course Zan was a character that got noticed and added to the 'Want to read his story" list. So when I got the request for the tour I jumped in and signed up.
I had not read Blair's other series The Devilhouse Books: Rae where you first meet Georgie, but I did not find it hard to get to like these characters from this series,
These characters are interesting enough on their own, but together, they just SHINE!
I don't do spoilers so I am not going to say much other than to say that Georgie's father caused her to change her identity and alter her destiny, one minute she is in the rich club and studying classical music, but when her world comes crashing down (somewhere in the other series I guess) she swaps the privileged life and private music school for a new identity and goes to Law school, leaving her music career behind.
Unfortunately that past life catches up to her, but shes always had an exit strategy and is ready to run, but when her BFF rings her up to say she must attend her Impromptu wedding in Paris, she decides that Paris maybe far enough away to loose the people who found her. At the wedding she meets Alexandre, now Alex has an alter ego, which Georgie has no idea about - Alex is non other than Xan Valentine, the Workaholic lead singer to the band Killer Valentine.
Blair unravels Xan's layers for us in this book and we see the man behind the rock god, He has a very interesting past and now I can see why he was so distant in Rhiannon's story.
As I said I haven't read the other series so even though Georgie maybe familiar to some readers, I didn't have a problem getting to know her, but I do look forward to exploring her character and learning how she came to be the person she is in this book by reading The Devilhouse series.
The one thing I will recommend about buying a kindle version of some books is the extra facilities that the digital age has advantage over. This book is music themed, and Blair has taken full advantage of the option to Hyper-linking music videos in the book, which I LOVE!!!
I do love classical music well some of it anyway and you get the chance to hear pieces that Georgie and Alex play, or love.
Blair Babylon has a great talent when it comes to making her characters and places come to life and the writing is again excellent, this was an ARC I read and there were hardly any issues with it.
heres one of my favourite descriptive bits:
The deceptively office-like hallways of The Devilhouse meandered through the building like a labyrinth. Sometimes Georgie surmised that it was to confuse clients so they would be more vulnerable. Other times, she assumed that the architect mush have been dead drunk.
I will admit I was drinking read wine at the time and my imagination just took flight with how the big house would be like a maze.
Blair has a broad genre base in her writing which suits me down to the ground because I love reading lots of different genres - so I will be adding all the books to my TBR because I doubt I would be disappointed.

This is the second book in the "Cowboy Way Series" that I have read. Having read Twylas story, thats when I started to keep an eye out for Becky McGrawbooks, as I thoroughly enjoyed her Contemporary, humerous writing style that has Sassy strong Female leads and Hot Headed, hunky Cowboys that will drive those women to distraction, but also be their rock when they need them. Zack is the epitome of a Loyal Cowboy, who will react and jump in to a situation because its the right thing to do, but at the same time can be a bit dense and backwards when it comes to seeing a woman clearly, which in this book gave rise to some funny giggle moments as he got himself into trouble with Heather.
Heather is Zacks sisters best friend, and she and Zack have always rubbed each other up the wrong way, Zack thinks she's a loose woman that lead his sister down the wrong path... Heather thinks he is a Jerk, Uptight dickwad (A handsome one but never the less, his automatic response to her proffesion put him in her bad books straight away)
Heather has a gift, she can sing, and while trying to make it as a country singer, she dances at 'The Cowgirl' and Men are not going to get in the way. Because she doesn't give men the time of day she's earned a reputation on the Rodeo Circuit, and Zack is quick to judge.
Zack is your 8 second cowboy, he is doing well but knows these last years at the top will be his last, so he is making the most of it to bring in the cash for the future of his farm and breeding Rodeo bulls. Until he retires he's staying away from women too, as they are a distraction he doesn't need.
Then on the night that Heather is singing at the opening of the Rodeo an incident will throw the pair together whether they like it or not.
As the Pair are forced to spend time with each other Zack realises that there is more to the prickly woman who makes his blood boil, and he wants to know more. Heather can't get over the fact that this Uptight opinionated Cowboy has her going weak at the knees.
As Heathers past catches up with her, will Zack be there for her? Will their attraction lead to more?
This humerous and often heartwarming story will captivate you and make you want to read the other books too, which are all ok to read as stand alone books, I have yet to read Book 1 but its on my TBR.
I loved reading Heathers story, she was a great character and Zack is the epitome of Handsome Cowboys who melt your heart
A must read for all Western Romance lovers ...more
I have followed Author A.C Wilson since I was gifted Black Hills Angel to review. I have a secret hankerinThis series keeps getting better and better.
I have followed Author A.C Wilson since I was gifted Black Hills Angel to review. I have a secret hankering to be a cowgirl - ride the plains, mountains on the back of a horse and reading this series is an escape into that world for me.
In this story the book features on Blake Phails, who is struggling with the death of his brother-in-arms. He is desperately choking back the guilt of not dying and now must face the emptiness of the world alone.
Seriously if you are not sobbing reading some of the stuff in this book like I was, then you have a tougher heart than mine.
I know first hand the trauma of what war does to men, and their struggle when they return home and I think this book really puts those struggles at the forefront of your mind, makes you consider how lucky we are to have the boys and girls in our armed services keeping us safe.
God I am choking up writing this! I read this book a while ago and have struggled writing the review because its a raw and emotional read for me.
This passage - well I was sobbing so hard, it still makes me tear up!
Deep, gut-wrenching sobs caused him to choke and gasp for air as he lay curled up on his side next to the freshly mounded dirt. The depth of his grief knew no bottom and even that didn’t terrify Blake Phails as much as going through the rest of his life without his best friend. He opened his mouth swallowing a cry of utter torment as his fingers dug into the wet earth of the grave site. His loss of a brother-in-arms had created more chaos than two tours in Afghanistan. It threatened to uproot the foundation he’d built in the United States Army and cast him aside like a piece of unwanted rubbish.
Blake has never known who his father was until his mother gives him a photo, there was a date and a town in South Dakota written on the back. Hot Springs.
Blake is lost so he makes his mind up to check out the town and find out who the man is in the picture.
When he gets there, he rescues a damsel in distress, fixes her Tyre for her, he is left wanting to know her more.
There is more to Bailey than first impressions show, heaven for her is the wide open spaces on the back of her horse, Liberty. ( See why I love these books - Horses are my heaven if the world is falling around me - on the back of a horse the stress and worry fall away)
Bailey has been striving for her independence but her stepfather reels her back in by using her half-sister as bait. He is vicious and abusive.
She tries to be strong, but sometimes you need to let someone in that can help you win the fight.
I recommend this series wholeheartedly - whether you read this book first or in order, you will surely enjoy as Blake and Bailey take a chance on their mutual attraction. There is heartache and tears, but there is also Joy and Determination as Blake finds something to give him a reason to live on.
PS I may have received a Review copy But I #OneClicked as I want to support the Charity that Ms Wilson has picked.
The whole royalty from Secrets for Amazon preorders and February sales goes to Wounded Warriors
This will definitely be a Re- read series for me and when they are all in Paperback I will be putting in a bulk order so they can sit on my Awesome Author Bookcase.

I have followed this series from the first book*** Gifted by the Author for an honest review*** See the full release day Post on 30h June on my website
I have followed this series from the first book Black Hills Angel, you can read my review Here. the book is free on all platforms too, so what are you waiting for?
These characters end up like close friends, I have loved catching up with them through each new book.
Ms Wilson has a style of writing that is easy to just immerse yourself into, where you connect with the characters and join them in their struggles and triumphs as each book evolves.
I do like this type of series, where each book feature a couple, but where the secondary characters are well developed and are very strong supporting members to the overall story. And that as the series developed we catch up with the lives of the rest of the family.
In a way I am sad writing this review as other than the novellas this is the last in this series. I will wait impatiently for her next series!
But there was loads packed into this book and by the end I had laughed, cried, hung with baited breath as I devoured the paragraphs.
While reading this book I was lucky that the local Rodeo was on, and boy watching the sections with the steers, I recalled the descriptiveness of a certain passage, and the tension and drama were written brilliantly to bring across the reality of the scene.
This book was a very emotional read, due to a personal experience I could really relate when reading the parts where Travis was in hospital, and Lacey and the family was waiting desperately for news. It really had me in tears, but experiences like this make you reflect on where you are in life and make changes, to be grateful for the little things in life - FAMILY, LOVE these are the things that are important, and this book is a great read when you want a story that will make you remember this.
Nothing lasted forever and it was the joy in the moment that made life
This quote is something that I am really trying to live by at the minute, my life is so up in the air at the minute. BUT I have my health(on the mend) and my family and when the grandkids smile and say hows your arm grandma and give me a hug, nothing makes me feel better than that.
IF you need a book to escape to because your life is not that great at the minute, I recommend this series to get lost in, to reset and reflect on whats really important.
Please grant me the wisdom to see a way out of this storm. Give me strength to support...
I love is that the faith of the characters is shown, but is in no way shoving religion down the readers throats, I am not a church going person, but I do have faith and when times are really tough I have prayed (hospital being the last I really and truly prayed that things would turn out good) Ms Wilson has shown she is a truly gifted writer who can create such a beautifully emotionally packed story to reflect the characters pain and emotional state.
Be Accountable. Be Useful. Work Hard. Learn Fast. Never, ever quit.
I highlighted this and I printed it out... so I can look at it at times when I do want to quit, so THANK YOU Ms Wilson, for inspiring me ... and making me want to move!!!!
I am a country girl at heart, and I would love a magic genie so I could wish to live in Hot Springs, South Dakota!
oh and snow... I miss SNOW!
SO in finishing - *5 awesome stars, I loved every minute of the book. I will be reading them again no doubt when I need a series guaranteed to lift my spirits up.
Check out the blog on the release day as the book links will be all there and there is a sale on for the release.
