This is my favorite series of Ms. Raithby's the characters, they feel like old friends now. I think this is my favorite one ... Or.. ok they're all my favorites. Because although each book focuses on a particular couple, the interaction of the sub characters makes it more about the family (pack). This book above all is about faith, about love conquering all... Congratulations to Rachel, as each book is released, I see her becoming more confident in her writing style. Bring on book 4... I want to know who it will feature, but above all, I want to be back in the packs catching up with good friends....more

I do reccomend that you read the series in this way, and you will find the book easily via Ms Irwin's website or pages on retailers sites.
Clay is a hunter son of an Elite family in a secret organization intent on neutralizing the threat nonhumans pose, but when Clay comes across Evie he feels more than the compulsion to eliminate the potential threat and he lets her escape and so begins his future.
This final book, in particular, focuses on living with the consequences for Evie and Clay. I can't add more as I do not want to spoil the book for you. But Ms Irwin sure has delved deep into how hard our past affects our present and future, I thoroughly enjoyed reading how Evie and Clay find each other again.
I certainly recommend both these companion series to anyone who loves paranormal romance books....more

Celestine is the most flawed person in Humming, but as she hides from the whistleblowers and Judge Crevan she doesn't know who to trust. But it seems that the population is unhappy, but scared to act against the Guild in fear that they too may be deemed 'Flawed'. I found this book hard to put down, it's faster paced than book one, and Celestine is finding that she has more courage than she thought.
Not only is this book a good story, the underlying message that it gives the reader is a prompt to look within yourself and see how you would fare if you lived in Celestine's world. How would I have reacted, would I have ignored the injustice that happened on that bus? Or would I have stood up for what I believed was right?
Celestine made her choice in book one, and in this book, she is living with the consequences and dealing with being on the run from the system who now realise that she could bring them all down.
Those who offer to help her, have their own agenda, the task of just surviving seems impossible, will Celestine not only survive, but bring about the end of an unjust regime?
I suggest you buy this book and see for yourself.
The ending was brilliant, the tension built and Ms. Ahern kept it going until the end. The last chapter I would love to quote, as it is a good one to remember - but I don't do spoiler reviews, so I will just keep it in my heart for when I need a pep talk.
but one I will quote that touched me while reading is this:
end of Chapter 59: "And there are the very special people in our lives who have the endless capacity to love us for all of our flaws"
This was after Celestine and her mother speak to each other. As a mother myself, this really did resonate with me, and as a daughter too... even at my advancing years, when my mother shows her pride in what I do - it means the world to me.
I will most definitely be re-reading this series in the future and checking out the author's Contemporary genre too. ...more

I didn't think that Ms. Irwin could add more to this story, I guess I should have known that she could and do it well due to her expertise with her companion stories Daughter of Fire and Son of Rain series, which are 2 of my favourite Paranormal series.
Ms. Irwin has done just as good in the Contemporary Romance Genre as she has in the Paranormal world and its high-octane stuff, since it revolves around fast cars and men who drive fast, love hard and don't give up. Its addictive and consumes you.
I am not going to say much about this story, other than its gripping, I read it in one sitting, it broke me... I am a mum, I felt Declan and Alyssa's pain, this story is full of the angst, worry, the feeling of inadequacy that a parent feels when their child is missing... and my kid was missing 15 minutes in a shop, it never left me - ever!
Be prepared to have tissues at hand as you will need them.
I can't wait to read the last installment, Physis, and Phoebe gets a happy ending... she has been through the worst a character could go through. So I live in hope that we do have sunshine and rainbows and not a storm cloud and monsoon of tears!...more

I have read 2 of the other books in this series, and not in any type of order, so if you start with this and want to read more in the series you can and not find it an issue.
Navy SEAL Drake Avery has an old fashioned view of protecting women, his southern roots and ways have had the women who are the partners of the Midnight Delta team rolling their eyes, sometimes but they know without a doubt that he would protect them with his life.
Drakes sisters are in danger and it's time to face the demons of his past once and for all. (His childhood was horrendous) The relationship between Drake and his sisters is a powerful one, he's watched them from afar for 12 long years, it's time to face the demon's who gave him no choice but to leave 12 years ago, he was one person now, but now he's got backup...
He thinks he will be alone in that fight, he has been lying about his past for so long, but when he calls the team when he needs backup, he finds out that his secrets were not so hidden, and they are there to watch his back before he knows it.
While protecting his Sisters, Drake meets kindergarten teacher named Karen Eastman, he realises it's the wrong time for cupid to strike his bow, but at least he was a sensible man and did not ignore it. Yes, he was overbearing to her at times, but Karen had enough 'Teacher backbone' to turn our Dashing SEAL into a naughty schoolboy when needed. And there were some laugh out loud moments when their personalities butted heads.
I read this book in one day, it held my attention and my chores were ignored till I finished!
Drake was a strong character that has gone through hell and back and never lost focus, his sisters were a priority even when he couldn't see them in person. I liked his character in the other books too, but after reading his story he is well and truly on my Book Boyfriends top 10 list
Caitlyn O'Leary has gotten me addicted to her SEAL's and I will be reading more of this series soon....more

Well I spent most of last night and this morning reading this book, it was 3rd in line on my list but after the last book I finished, I just needed something light and funny.
THIS was perfect for my mood.
If you want a book where the heroine finally decides to live for herself, and not for the smuck she married straight out of college then this story is for you. Randell was a D!$Khead But Kenzie, boy when she found her courage then she was on a roll.
I know this is a curvy girl story and I applaud Lila for going for a cover that reflects that, and I may be a skinny butt but I got how she felt, I have felt those feelings of doubt, low self-esteem and the nervousness of wondering if the hunk that is interested in me ... is really interested in ME, the skinny 'stick'. So Yeah I related well to her inner monolog.
The book is a delight, I had a hard time not waking the hubby as I read into the early hours of the morning and at 71% I spat out my tea! thankfully while reading on my sofa alone LOL.
We don't get to delve deep into Grayson's personality, we get a bit of background, but Lila has mostly focused on this being Mackenzie's story, and that was fine.. I guess the reason I gave it a 4.5 star was I really didn't think it needed all the love scenes, as I loved the build up and tension that occurs in the main part of the book as the romance builds, and of course the stereotypical women who were Grayson's Ex's Harpy ( lol I did love her nickname, she was well suited to it though)
SO if you are wanting a light rom-com that has a lovely story, some seriously funny scenes then grab a copy and jump in....more

I will say this was a hard book to read in one sitting, I had to take breaks at certain points because my heart and throat and eyes couldn't take it. Even as I neared the end, I had to go do something else as I was crying so hard I couldn't see my kindle! and I will say the warning is correct, this is NOT a romance, it's like reading an episode of Criminal Minds, the tension, stress of the investigation came over strongly in Ms. Leigh's writing.
I have been a fan of T.K. Leigh since I met her in 2015, I bought her Beautiful mess series at the Readers and Writers Down Under Signing, at the recommendation of a facebook friend, Shaneen introduced us and T.K. was such a lovely person, very supportive and free with her advice for new authors. I am sad to admit that those books are still unread on my bookshelf! WELL NO MORE, I am making time to read them this month (Somehow) #bloggerproblems! (very carefully so not to spoil the books, I really hate opening my signed books to read) #Bookaholic
So I read this book blind, with no knowledge of the series. I think I am glad in a way because I went in with no preconceived ideas on what to expect.
At first I was thinking it would be a 3 - 4 star as I had a bit of a hard time relating to Rayne, I couldn't understand how she had gotten so lost, that she would consider something so heinous. Even when I learned about why she was so low I couldn't understand how she thought that Alex Burnham deserved what she was planning to do. As I read on I got more involved, the story started to give me my answers, but also would give me more puzzles to ponder.
I may have taken breaks from reading to do other things, but my mind was constantly trying to work out what was going on, what would come next and whether Melanie would survive.
By 61% I was hooked, by the complexity of the plot and as the clues for Melanie's kidnapping were revealed the tension mounted.
As Alex and the Authorities try to piece together the clues to who has taken Melanie, Alex's life and those around him are put under the microscope.
TK has done a very good job at expressing the anguish, the neverending torment of questions a parent would ask themselves if dealing with this situation.
I lost my youngest in a shopping centre when he was 6 years old, he was found 15 minutes later, but the agony of not knowing, the rampaging thoughts of what may have happened, my heart was so painful and to this day it's as fresh in my mind and it was 20 years ago.
This remembered pain, well it came back in spades reading this book, I had a lump in my throat, at times tears, and a sense of anguish, as events unfolded.
This is a good book, but its dark, its tragic, but compelling and the emotions that come across the pages feels so real, you would think it was based on experience (god forbid).
But I guess that becoming a mother herself was all that the author needed to channel the emotion she would need to write this book. This book encompasses every parent's nightmare. All I could think while reading this book was how I would cope in Olivia's shoes. I tend to immerse myself into a story so, as I said and even now when writing this review I was getting choked up.
I could write more, but I don't want to put too much in the review, I recommend you grab a copy and read it yourself (With tissues at hand).

Although these stories are stand-alone, as in separate events, I feel they DO NEED to be read in order so please for the full benefit and to not spoil the other 2 books that are already out, read book 1 His Desire and book 2 His Choice first.
I gave this book a full 5 stars, although I am not that keen on the cover (sorry Sheila) but the cover does not fit my imagination's version of Jake. But in saying that the story was fantastic! the best one yet, and I have the next waiting to read, as soon as I finish my current Review Read.
Jake is mentioned in both the first two books, Jake the adopted son who left mysteriously (we find out why in AJ's Book - His Choice. Jake was a strong character that had a lot to deal with, leaving the family at a young age he chose to go undercover when his emotions were too mixed up for him to think clearly, immersing himself into a world, far from the one he grew up in.
But now he is back, he has been through hell and now when he finds out the truth he is going to have to deal with the fallout, that on top of the trouble Emily finds herself in means this book is action packed and will have you turning pages long into the night.
There are secrets in HIS, more than you can imagine and the author did a good job in weaving this intriguing tale into its dramatic conclusion. AND I did cry!
I have questions... hopefully they will be answered in the upcoming His Chance and if not I do hope that Sheila Kell will give the person who is named in His Return a book also after all he has been through, I think his may be the last book to be written but I hope he does get one. Considering I hardl***I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book for my honest review & I thank the publishers Harper Collins NZ***
Considering I hardly ever pick biographical books when I was given the catalogue for reviews from #HarperCollinsNZ the first thing that grabbed my eye was the cover, as a keen photographer it just drew me in to look closer, that #wave, its like #epic (I am channeling my latent #surferchick vibe, can you tell)
I LOVE the sea, having been born on the East Coast of England, and then moving to NZ and also living even nearer the sea (200m away) I then lived on the coast of Queensland for 3 years, and now I am back in Invercargill, and drive to Bluff twice a day and I do enjoy the ever-changing view of the sea. My goal is to get back to living with a #seaview again soon.
I have always wanted to learn to surf (and I decided to add it to my bucket list after reading this book) OK I doubt I will ride waves as big as Garrett does, but the thing is I've been glued to this book, and it is not just because it's about #surfing, because although it is, it is also about striving for your #dreams #goals and the main lesson I got from reading this book is that you #neverquit.
It was a truly inspirational read, at first, the book had my eyebrows raised, his childhood is like off the scale opposite to myself and my husband's, I couldn't imagine how he and his brothers did not fall foul of a sticky end. BUT I do think his unusual upbringing had something to do with the way he looks at life.
He talks candidly about his life, the highs and lows, the pages were full of stories that showed his Passion, commitment, friendship, loyalty and honesty. He lives for the moment, for all the possibilities, to pursue your dreams no matter they be big or small.
Quote: Fear is a choice, something we manufacture in our in our minds. When we think about the past or the future we become afraid. We're afraid because we remember when something bad happened before and we're scared it's going to happen again. If we are in the moment and enjoying the moment and making the best of the moment, there is no fear.
I think the one thing I will take from reading this book is that even when everything was going wrong, he still carried on... this has had an effect on me, So I will keep picking myself up as life throws its spanners in my life, smile and enjoy the journey down this road called life.

This is the series that continues from Michelle Irwin first #RacingThemedseries of books, Declan Reede: The Untold Story, Phoebe is Declan's eldest daughter, and in Phase Phoebe sets off to America for a well needed holiday, where she meets Beau. her holiday romance turns into more, but a long distance relationship can be hard and in Phobic The struggles of this are forefront in the story, and wow - warning that book left me with such a book hangover, both books were on my Topreads2016 and this and I guess if Ms. Irwin finishes this series this year I predict the books will be on my top-2017-read shelf
This book is told in Beau's POV, and there were times when I did want to bat him across the head and tell him to get a grip, there were other times when I wanted to hug him and tell him it will be ok ( unfortunately the master of his destiny is going to make him work for it - Ms. Irwin likes to make her characters work hard for their happy ever after! ) I feel for him and Phoebe, they have gone through so much but I have faith that it will be worth it in the end - or else Ms Irwin may get a rant from me. I will warn readers that this series covers some trigger subjects - nothing graphic, but I really felt Beau and Declan when they were searching for Phoebe.
OK there you go, my thoughts on the book after a bit of sleep and time to contemplate my feelings...
This is my bleary-eyed comment after sitting in the dark on the floor in my lounge, my kindle plugged into the socket because I ran out of battery at 98%!
Omg!!! I need to sleep... but goddam Michelle Irwin you know how to twist the reader's emotions. My hearts breaking and I now desperately want the next story! #tissues and an uninterrupted read will be required when you start this book, you will be glued to the pages. Its 2:30 am and I am going to go try to sleep now. But I know that I'll be thinking about the ending till dawn
And btw it took me ages to get to sleep! What will Phoebe do in #Physis - Book 4 in the series out in August 2017 (PS if you wonder about the title for book 4 here is the definition)

Well this was a quick read, I started at lunch time (30 minutes) then completed the book tonight, couldn't put it down. I have read 2 other stories from this series, one being Escape: Flora and the second of that series Freedom: Flora Both are great, the rest of this series is going on my TBR list, I have one more to read next which I hope is as good as the ones I have just read.
So what did I think to Stella's book? - Italy, Vampires and Artists (Great Combination!)... well Monica La Porta has captured me as a fan with her other books that were based in Rome (A serious bucket list destination for me) and since its the other side of the world I will have to be content in visiting it via Ms. La Porta's books.
Stella was an easy character to like, an artist who has fallen on hard times (both things I have experience at!) Italy has a lot of history, the monarchy has been disbanded but the bloodlines continue, some prosper and some do not, Stella is at the end of the line, about to be kicked out of her ancestral home, because it is in dire need of repair, and she has no money to pay for it to be repaired... Unless she becomes a blood courtesan, and although she is very wary she puts herself up for Auction.
The Winner of her Auction? Well he was a Vampire that although Ancient, had not lost his humanity and I loved his honourable personality. You will see why I came to this conclusion when you read the book, but I do not want to give anything away.
The book has action, suspense and romance, everything to give the reader an escape into a HEA. I hope that there will be more about Stella and her Vampire....more

This is the first ever Jackie French book I have read, but the cover just drew me in, I love this cover, the colours, the expression on the girls face and the red dusty rural Australian backdrop just made me want to read it, the blurb drew me in further, so the publishing team get 5 stars for such a good job.
This is a historical fiction, ok 1975 is not too many people historical fiction (its my childhood), but to a 13 year old today, it will definitely seem ancient!
So what did I think - I feel that this book was an 'enlightening and very grown-up book', which is funny as this is a teen book, but maybe that is why I feel I now understand a little more about why politics never seem to change, the authors characters and their experiences showed me not only far the world has come while I was growing up, but how nothing much has changed in the way of politics, and also how hard it must have been living in Australia if you were not White and Male. This captivating story, gives the reader a window into the lives of the characters, in an eloquent but easy to digest way.
This book is the 6th book in this series, (for information on the others see the authors website) and in the way its sort of Matilda's last book... or is it?
The main characters in the book are Jed who is introduced in the 5th book The Ghost by the Billabong Scarlett, her wheelchair bound adopted sister and Matilda, the awesome matriarch - I hope i get to be as awesome as she was when I am old and grey. And Leafsong, the mute who along with Scarlet starts on the path of adulthood in the turbulent political events that happened from 1972 to 1975 – I did a fair amount of researching while reading, growing up in the UK I certainly didn't feel that my mother or aunts had such a stilted life that Australia seemed to have.
This novel is a symbolic reflection of a poem ‘Freedom on the Wallaby’ by Henry Lawson, I also found the full poem while reading it, and I guess that is what is great about reading this book - It inspired me to learn more, and what more could you want when looking for a book, for your teen to read?
I also love the mysticism in this book, the Aboriginal and the Aliens too, Chapter 91 was a favourite :D, I love Aliens, I am a Sci-fi fan, love anything mystical or paranormal and I love unusual characters, maybe that is why Leafsong was and still is my favourite character, Matilda was my second favourite.
I laughed and cried and read nervously as the 11th November came around, wondering whether Ra Zacharia would succeed. Who is he, well I suggest you grab a copy of the book, or better yet go source the others and read them in order. - I am going to do just that, and a few others that have taken my fancy that Ms French has written.
This book is aimed at the TEEN market, but I would have never guessed it if I had not known. Any adult who loves fiction that is based on true events will fall in love with this author, I certainly will be reading many more of Ms French's titles.
The flow and beauty of the words, the characters who become real as you experience their journey through the years, I have truly loved reading this captivating book. #Top2017read.

Lydia Hidalgo is a very lucky lady ( Well I guess she wasn't when she was kidnapped) but when she has 'Her Loyal SEAL' Clint Archer and his teammates to rescue Lydia and her family from their captors, she is one lucky lady.
Clint has to carry Lydia for five days through the hellish conditions the jungle throw at them and by the time she is in the hands of doctors who are trying desperately to save her life, Clint is head over heals in love with this tough and smart lady, the fact that they are both Computer nerds fulfilled my geeky heart!
Clint - well he was just 'Sigh' strong, loyal and determined to ensure Lydia survived and not only that got to spend the rest of her life happy and with him. I didn't think someone could knock the Cats off my top Changling group but the bears are gaining ground!
Nalini will have your heart on stop go mode as you read, I had a brief breakdown in the middle of the office break room (trying not to outwardly cry while my heart was breaking at the situation Silver and Valentin end up in) and then had to wait 3 more excruciating hours till I could get home and continue to read, and I did last night, finishing up at about 1 am.
No spoilers here guys and gals - just a recommendation that this book goes to prove that Nalini Singh deserves my top Author spot on my bookshelf.
I will be re-reading before the next book is published. The first 15 books have been my go-to re-read series, followed closely by a binge of Guild hunters.
If I had to pick a series to be a castaway on a desert island for 10 years It would be the whole Nalini Paranormal Back Catalogue.
Nalini's writing and world building are deep, her characters multi-faceted and they delve deep into your heart, This world astounds me as I read and read again and pick up new nuances of information each time.
I know she has a system to keep track of who what where and why, as we got to hear about it when I had the pleasure of meeting Nalini in Auckland at the release of Allegiance of Honour, (going gaga in her presence) I know that once a reader finds Nalini, they become lifelong fans.
I was so pleased that there is this new series as I would be heartbroken if this world stopped evolving... Long may Psy-Changling world continue to the next century!!
And I can't wait for the next book in this new Trinity ARC.
PS Nalini thanks for not breaking my heart!...more

This story can be read as a stand alone, but if you have read Shari's book A Heart of Time then you will remember AJ and Tori and the other sub characters.
This book will bring all the emotions to the forefront as you read, it truly is a second chance romance, and you will need tissues at the ready.
Be prepared for tons of tears, I felt every page of this book, and it gets a Top 2016 read from me.
The emotion and the events that happen in the book are not overdone, and the situations that are mentioned have been well written so that they highlight how subjects like teenage pregnancy, depression, and abuse can shape a person.
I don't want to give too much away but just to say, if you want a heartfelt series to read, then both book 1 and this book will not disappoint - yes you will cry buckets but at the end of the journey is a beautiful 'Happy Ever After'

Declan McAllister and his team Shadow Alliance are on a mercy mission to save the flood victims in Paraguay, Declan is the best type of book boyfriend, an Alpha Male who has a heart, loyal to a fault and he has his demons that make him try to do the right thing. which all in all makes him a great character.
FBI Agent Allison Davies tracks him down to discuss what he knows about a traitor that was on his team one fateful mission - the result of his traitorous actions haunt Declan every day.
With lots of 'sigh' moments when he is looking after the flood victims, to when he is gently trying to get through the walls of Allison's heart <3 and she has some big walls to crack. Allison's backstory was tragic but she rose above them and turned into the perfect partner for Declan.
The sparks fly and the pair team up to track down the supposedly dead traitor, along with Allison's friend and the rest of Shadow Alliance, its a cat and mouse game to who will outwit whom.
I do not want to say too much about the book, but the story kept me gripped to my kindle, Ms. O'Leary's writing style creates a vivid picture of both suspense and action.
Declan and Allison make a great pair both in the field and romanticly and I will be checking out the next book in this new series, as I don't want to miss out on their next mission.
