Reflection Essay
1. Yes, I can see an improvement in my own writing throughout this semester. The
improvement that I’ve seen is that within my writing I used to write sloppy and
unclear. I would say doing the discussion posts and seeing how everyone else writes
versus mine helped me a lot. Answering certain questions and formatting the correct
way helped my writing as well. Looking back on this one document I did call “White
Paper” really made me look back on how I used to write. Before I used to write white
papers as if they were just original essays with certain annotated citations but, now
that I had major practice with writing white papers, I would say my white papers look
10x better than before. I would like to note, in my “Engagement Project”, it was my
first time doing an assignment like that and it was very fun. It was pretty complicated
at first because, it was a lot of requirements for something that seemed so simple but,
as I started going farther into the assignment it became clear and I was able to
complete it. I wouldn’t mind doing a project like that again since, I’ll know what I
will be doing.
2. My goal for this course was to pass with a A or higher because so far with my writing
courses I have only achieved either a B or a very high C. I didn’t meet my goal but,
it’s not because I didn’t try hard it’s just because, I guess my wiring documents
weren’t good enough to achieve that goal but, for the most part I did try. Another goal
I had was to answer questions more cohesively and clear. I feel like I did achieve that
goal and made a ton of progress with that as well. Although, I didn’t have that many
goals, I feel like my goals were beneficial towards me. In the further I plan on to keep
trying to reach my goals when it comes to writing professional document s as such.
3. The assignment I am most proud of is the “Instructions Packet”. That’s because I had
a lot of fun completing that assignment. Looking back on it, in my “Instructions
Packet” I wrote about “how to make candy apples” and then seeing everyone else
instructions was a really fun take on how other people complete or achieve things. If I
could add any assignment to this course, it would be another “Instructions Packet”
because I could possibly write about something else to write instructions on. I could
possibly write about “how to pack a suitcase”, “how to plan out assignments in
planner” or “how to cook a lobster tail”. It’s a lot of ideas I have but I choose the one
I chose, and it came out just fine. If I could edit an assignment in this course, it would
be the “White Paper Packet”. I did my best on it just wasn’t right the way I completed
it.
