Wednesday Word—Safe!

Here I am—all safe and warm in my bed which is on another bed in a heated condo. Not all cats are this lucky. I filed this report for Cat Witness News.

Sometimes I write blog posts in advance and then I have to report Breaking News on Facebook. Those on FB know last week we were worried about the Maple Cats. We’d had a big ice storm on Monday and TW didn't leave the condo until Wednesday. When she passed their house, the kitties were both sitting on top of their igloo on the porch. TW promised that she’d feed them on her way home.

My human aka TW was living in a “bubble.” Even though she kept reading about feral colonies and community cats, she always thought it was “someone else’s problem.” She hadn’t seen a stray cat in our area for over 20 years. She thought we had it covered. She had another think coming

A few years ago, our concierge mentioned there were several cats living in our parking garage that residents were feeding. A quick look showed their ears weren’t notched. A red flag went up but she was still in denial.

Due to the fact that TW has been catching up on housework and wrapping our Secret Paws package this weekend cos she was writing cards all last week, I decided to throw her a bone. I’m rerunning an old post from August 27, 2010 that didn’t get many hits or comments. I think it’s a good one with lots of funny lines. This is a story of heartbreak (mine), intrigue (yours) and violence (to TW). I added some new photos to get your attention even though Blogger is giving me a hard time adding them.
