Releases information
Recorded between 1975-1977, restored and remastered by Asaf Carmeli & Erez Siag

ATMOSPHERA, not to be confused with a Brazilian art-rock band with the same name, is an Israeli progressive rock band from the late 70's. They recorded two long, epic pieces for an album with English lyrics (Shakespeare & Lord Tennyson), but the album was too far-out for the small Israeli music industry, so the master tapes were archived and the album was never issued on vinyl. 25 years later, a small collectors' label, MIO records, gathered all the tapes, videos and information on the lost band, and issued the album on CD, with bonus tracks and a videoclip.

ATMOSPHERA's style is "mainstream prog" - heavily influenced by YES's symphonic style. The music is melodic, classical and well-arranged. The band lineup consists of Efrayim Barak on vocals, Moti Fonseka on guitar, Alon Nadel on bass, Yuval Rivlin on keyboards, and Ami Lipner (later re-named himself to Mi El-Ma) on drums. Mi El-Ma, the drummer, is influenced by Bruford's style, Nadel, the bassist, emulates Squire's sound, the keyboardist, Rivlin, uses some of Wakeman's tricks, and even soloist, Barak, sounds very much like Jon Anderson. YES fans will find delight in this highly-capable group of musicians, who offer virtuoso abilities and solid compositional skills.
The double album boasts three major highlights: "Lady of Shalott", "Cuckoo - Alternate Version" (new remix with added Mellotron and digital effects), and the avant-garde "Catharsis" by a different, later line-up called ISTOPY. In 2002 a double CD was released with the debut tracks and some bonus tracks, live renditions, video clips and VCD material. (progarchives)

Up for bid is OASIS, one of the rarest Jazz albums to ever come out of Israel. Deep, dark, primitive yet delicate, the music of Oasis has the sense of experienced musicians yet with a primary early enthusiasm.
Oasis were a one shot project by Jazz guitar wizz Avrey Sharron, bass player Yossie Menachem, extraordinary drummer Ickie Levy & Dudi Rosenthal on electric piano.
Total of 6 tracks out of them 3 originals by Avrey Sharon. Other tracks by Leon Russell, Jobim-Demoraes & Burke-Van Heusen.
Recorded on June, 1977 in Israel and released on the short-lived KRYPTON label by HATAKLIT records company. The only other album that was released on the Krypton label was by the Israeli progressive rock band Zingale. Both are extremely rare nowadays.
The Oasis LP is at the same quality & rarity caliber as the famous Rimona Francis & The Jazz Workshop LPs from Israel.

Fourteen Octaves = ארבע-עשרה אוקטבות ‎– Fourteen Octaves = ארבע עשרה אוקטבות (Israel, 1975, LP)

Short lived experimental Israeli band (active 1974-75) which combined progressive rock, jazz, and fusion. The band's name was derived from the fact that the piano covers seven octaves of notes and there were two pianists in the group. Avner Kenner and Yoni Rechter had known each other in high school and had met again in 1974 at The Academy of Music in Tel Aviv. Rechter was a member of Kaveret at the time, and discovered that he had the same musical taste as Kenner. Producer Asher Bitansky managed to get them studio time (along with drummer Zohar Levi) even though he knew the resulting album would not be a commercial success. During 1974-75 the trio also played live and also toured with קצת אחרת (Ktzat Acheret a/k/a Nonames), another progressive rock band. In 2008 Kenner and Rechter did a joint concert in which their performed some of the Fourteen Octaves material. It was the first time the two had played together in over 30 years.
