Superhero

Hi Everyone, I need a birthday card for a little boy, so what' better than   playing with the  Friday Mashup  - just focusing on the Superhero theme.  All my supplies are by Paper Smooches. I fussy cut the Superman and colored him with Copics. The sentiment is heat embossed. The skyline was a bit of work, but totally worth the effort - I love how this turned out! STAMPlorations Inspiration Project #25

Hi Everyone, its INSPIRATION day again at  STAMPlorations !  Don't forget about our Birthday blog hop - its the second day today - it will go live in one hour,so come back! Again our wonderful DT made some beautiful cards to entice you playing with your stamps or stencils - STAMPlorations or otherwise. And perhaps I can also inspire you to play along with us! I am playing with the birthday set Party Mates . Colored with Copics and fuzzy cut, mounted with foam tape. the sentiment is from  Holiday Artsy . I made the background with post it notes - just masked off the stripes and sponged them. Added tiny sequins and silver embroidery thread.         Here is another view: Linking up with: Friday Mashup  - all about 3 - combining the sketch and the challenge show CASe your style - color challenge Challenge up your Life - sequins     Happy Stamping!

Crazy Bird Father's Day card

Hi Everyone, time to play with the Crazy Birds - I think they just lend themselves to be made into Father's Day cards.... I used watercolor paper and watercolors to color Mr. Crazy. Gave him a snazzy little bow-tie made with a YNS die, colored it, too and added glossy accents. Added the sentiment by Studio112 - I actually cut that sentiment out - I figured I'll never will use the stamp as it is anyhow and that was easier than masking it.... And did I mention the splatters? Linking up with: Cut it up  - Ties for Fathers Day Colour me....!  - my orange show up as red in the picture... Friday Mashup  - water color Snippets Playground  - use a snippet (bow tie) - probably the tiniest snippet ever ;) Simon Says Wednesday challenge  - anything goes Inkspirational - Purple ( as suggested by Carol) Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Fathers Day Happy Stamping!

Faux paper cutting

Hi Everyone, today I want to share a card with the faux paper cutting technique I learned on the CAS #4 class. The fabulous  Debby Hughes  showed us the how to.... I used all sorts of dies for this - mainly by Memory Box. The pink LOVE is by Papertrey - Wet Paint. Its a labor of love to make this, but the result is worth it, right? Looks so elegant! And because I love it so much, you get another view of it: Playing in: Less is More  - Pink and Grey - 4 year birthday celebration Friday Mashup  - going with the  Love theme Just us girls - Love Snippets Playground - lots of snippets here...

Just us Girls

I saw the photo at the Just us Girls challenge and knew I had to play....Pulled out my favorite Paper Smooches set and a stencil and voila' a card is done! Added some Washi tape and a Paper Candi. The elephants are paper pieced and mounted with foam tape. It was pretty simple and quick - my kind of card! Also adding this to Friday Mash-up - 2 layer card Happy stamping!

Little Tangles combined with Friday Mashup

When I saw the  Friday Mashup  challenge I knew I had to play! I have in teh past admired those galaxy backgrounds, but had no idea how to make them. but - Friday Mashup provided two links (thanks Ladies!) to youtube videos - one by  Kristina Werner  and one by  Dawn . I did not have the right supplies foe either technique, but I learned enough and kind of made my own with the stuff I had at hand. The other cool coincidence was that  the challenge over at  Little Tangles  is Inspired by the design team. I remembered  Jill  making a card recently (see below), that fit what I had in mind..... So long story short - here is my card: I am quite happy with the result, after all it was my first try.  I used the Neat and Tangled set Time Warp, the sentiment is from A Long time ago. I white embossed them first and while the embossing powder was still hot I added glow in the dark WOW embossing powder to it and embossed it ...

Ink blowing at the Friday Mashup

Just a quick post for now - its late and my bed is calling..... Friday Mashup has a fun technique, that I have done before - quite a while ago  (you can see that card HERE )- its ink blowing. We actually did that when we were kids.....So of course I could not resist and had to make a card: Its super fast to do. You need glossy paper and some ink and a thin straw. One drip of ink is plenty and the patterns are really fabulous. It takes some time to dry.... Added some black splatters. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations:   Subway Art Builders: Create . Since its glossy paper you need to use Staz-on ink. This is so much fun - go and blow some cards!

Friday Mashup #144 Second card

So here is my second card for the  The  Friday Mashup : I love this stamp over your stencil technique! I learned that in the    Stenciled online class. The stars are by  Papertrey - I die cut my stencil. I then stamped over the stencil with stamps from the Papertrey Dot Spot set. The sentiment is by CASual Fridays- the set is called RAD. The tiny stars are by MFT. I am also linking this card with the  Trendy Star Moxie Fab challenge  color me...! challenge - 5 colors of one's choice - mine are neon yellow, orange, pink, purple and black Dream Valley challenges - no designer paper

Friday Mashup #143

Here is a challenge that I just recently discovered - The Friday Mashup - its like the fusion challenge, just that it has been around much longer - they are up to #143! Its a weekly challenge - something I always find challenging, but I made it this time....  How do you like that - looks like real wood, but its patterned paper from Michaels. Much easier to mail that way, ha ha... The arrowed heart is a Lifestyle Crafts die, the sentiment is TAWS - all about YOU and the little hearts are leftover from a card that I made for the current Simply Create Too challenge  - Valentine's Day or use Hearts. My card will be in the midpost, so I'm only giving you a sneak peek on it....and if you want to play there - you have another 10 days! And I am also linking this card with the Snippets Playground - must use a snippet
