Jingle Bells

I was forced to take took a little break from cardmaking - with school starting and work and family obligations, there was simply no time. This card I made for Jingle Belles  took several days - no kidding, but in the end, 5 minutes here and there add up to one completed card....Not that I really was alot of work. I show you 3 views, because the embossing on the middle panel is subtle and hard to see. I used a Spellbinder plate for it. The sentiment is from Purple Onion design and the Papertrey Rickrack border die. Some ready made foil snowflakes, PP and brads. I am also linking this up with the CHNC challenge  - Anything Goes Christmas Here is the Jingle Bell Sketch:

Easter Card

I signed up for an Easter Card exchange at the flickr LOVE group a while ago. Not sure why, because Easter is not one of those holidays that comes easy to me in terms of card making. I had a lot of trouble last year and I guess this year is not any better. The first card I made turned out kind of okay, but then I dropped a wet rag on it and that was the end of that. Here is a slightly different version of the ruined card (I'll spare you the look of that one...) Materials: spellbinders circle die, Michaels $ stamp, sentiment Hero Arts April (Cl051), Lifestyle crafts bunny die and Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Perfect Pearls I added this card to the Simon Says sketch challenge - it kind of fits... --X-- Today I had to go into the City, not for fun, but work related. Lately I always bring my camera along, because if I don't I'll regret it. I thought I'll share this picture with you: Some guy painting a mannequins' toenails in a...

Silver birthday card

No sure, what's wrong with me lately..... thought I'll combine the Make it Monday Marvelous Monogram challenge from Papertrey with the   Challenge, but no, it was not the regular Make it Monday, it was a blog hop ending yesterday. Alt least I did not screw up with the silver challenge . It took me a while to come up with something - actually Papertrey spurned my imagination  - as you can see. I made this card for my nieces birthday - those are her initials. I just hope she has more important things to do than checking my blog, I would like this to be a surprise..... It was kind of tricky gluing on the letters After some trial and error I managed to adhere them with glossy accents. The bigger silver circle is glued to chipboard, to give the card some dimension. And here is another challenge this card will be part of :   CASology CIRCLE   - as my new member Kimberly just told me - I wanted to make something else for this one,...

Fuer Euch habe ich dieses Begruessungs Foto ausgesucht:  Great that you found my blog and stayed as members! I selected this welcome photo for you, I hope you like it: Der Kuenstler ist Dalton Ghetti - er macht diese kleinen Meisterwerke aus alten Bleistiften. Ich habe ein anderes Kunstwerk von ihm auf einem frueheren blog Eintrag .   The artist is Dalton Ghetti - he makes tiny pencil sculptures. I showed another one of his little masterpieces on a previous blogpost --X-- A friend of mine had twins last year and this month they are turning 1. Its a boy and a girl and I made those cards for them, using the layout from C&S Day 1. The fun letters are Penny black's Zoophabet c...

A round of Applause - CFC85

This week challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is "  Round of Applause- CAS cards that celebrates an accomplishment, and feature at least one circle".  A   while back I found that beautiful clock on  Pinterest  and always thought I should make that into a card. And then I got my Simon Stamps order yesterday and - VOILA - this card "emerged".......... I used my Spellbinders dies and my brand new Simon Says ABSOLUTELY die/stamp combo. I die cut it twice, once in dark red and once in white and glued it with a slight off-set together to give some dimension and shadow. The die cut is mounted with pop-dots. The You're is a partially inked up sentiment from Hero Arts (Sending smiles messages) I also submitted this card to the Inky chicks first challenge - anything goes. I LOVE that "theme"!!

Money holders

My nephews are both teenagers and its is quite difficult to get them something they like. So I have reverted to giving money instead. This year I made them this money holder: So, first you need to slide over the red band  - and you see Merry Christmas  (from Papertrey - Mixed Messages) under a red, clear embossed bow from Prickly Pear) Then you pull out the ribbon labeled "2" - playing a little word game here with Ulysses S. Grant, who adorns the $50 bill. Once you pull ribbon labeled "3", you actually get the money. Here is a close-up. The scalloped oval is from Spellbinders, the grey oval a punch and the felt tree I picked up some years ago in Germany. The envelope is made out of patterned paper. I linked this up with the Anything goes challenge from Simon Says stamps .
