Make It Monday #190: Stamping a Plaid Background I happen to have this stripes set from Papertrey that  Ashley Cannon Newell  uses so expertly in her card. The video is really helpful, too. I have tried before to make a plaid background, but never liked the result of it. This time its different, thanks to Ashley!  I turned it into a Holiday card - what else, at this time of the year.... The die cuts are from Papertrey as well. I really love that silver glitter paper. I have been using it quite a bit, lately.  I almost forgot - the little "cheer" is by Paper Smooches. And added two sequins. I am also linking my card with Inkspirational Colour me....! - although my turquoise looks kind of blue here... So here is my second card for the  The  Friday Mashup : I love this stamp over your stencil technique! I learned that in the    Stenciled online class. The stars are by  Papertrey - I die cut my stencil. I then stamped over the stencil with stamps from the Papertrey Dot Spot set. The sentiment is by CASual Fridays- the set is called RAD. The tiny stars are by MFT. I am also linking this card with the  Trendy Star Moxie Fab challenge  color me...! challenge - 5 colors of one's choice - mine are neon yellow, orange, pink, purple and black Dream Valley challenges - no designer paper

I took part in a Christmas Card swap this year and I have received the most wonderful cards. Unfortunately my efforts got somewhat hampered by hurricane Sandy. I just could  not make any cards in the evening - it was too dark and candlelight is not enough. On the weekend it was simply too cold and we spent the day cleaning up the yard and our cluttered basement. As long as we were moving we were okay. But I did make a couple of different cards and here they are: This set I made with  a Memory Box die called "Modern Landscape". The snowflakes stamp is from Hero Arts, called "Stunning Snowflakes". I inked it up with Versamark and embossed it in white. The sentiment is Hero Arts as well (Merriest Wishes). To cause some more contrast I sponged with blue ink on the background before I glued the die cut on it. It does not show well, but I put some Stickles on the border of the die cut and put some Stickles on the stars next to the sentiment. The card on the...
