Manaea (oblique) allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits while striking out two in 1.2 innings during his rehab start with High-A Brooklyn on Friday, John Sparaco of SI.com reports. Manaea was cleared to embark on a rehab assignment after starting the season on the injured list due to a right oblique strain that he suffered in spring training. The 33-year-old southpaw ended up tossing 36 pitches in what was an underwhelming outing, but it's a step in the right direction as far as his rehab program goes. Manaea will need several rehab starts without setbacks before being cleared to return to the major-league roster.

Latest Mets News
Sean Manaea : Tough outing in first rehab start
Edwin Díaz : Collects 14th save
Diaz earned the save against the Rockies on Friday, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth. Diaz was brought in for the save opportunity after Francisco Lindor (toe) gave the Mets a two-run lead in the ninth. Diaz needed 13 pitches to get through the first two batters but just two to get Kyle Farmer to line out and secure the win. Diaz has converted 14 of 15 save opportunities this season and has a 2.39 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 40:11 K:BB across 26.1 innings.
Peter Alonso : Smacks two-run double
Alonso went 1-for-3 with two walks, one run scored and a two-run double in Friday's 4-2 win over the Rockies. Alonso put the Mets on the board in the seventh inning with a two-run double to left field and came home to score in the ninth on a Francisco Lindor (toe) double. Alonso has reached base safely in 15 straight games, and over that span he has slashed .310/.388/.690 with nine runs, four doubles, six home runs and 20 RBI across 67 plate appearances.
Juan Soto : Collects three hits
Soto went 3-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored in Friday's 4-2 win over Colorado. Soto reached base safely four times and crossed home plate in the in the seventh and ninth frames. It was his 14th multi-hit game of the season and his first game recording three hits since last September with the Yankees. Soto has reached base safely in nine consecutive games and has gone 9-for-30 (.300) with two doubles, three home runs and six RBI over that span.
Francisco Lindor : Two-run double as pinch hitter
Lindor (toe) went 1-for-1 with a two-run double in Friday's 4-2 win over the Rockies. Lindor was held out of the Mets' starting lineup due to a broken right pinkie toe, but he was brought in as a pinch hitter for the ninth frame with the game tied 2-2. He didn't waste time making his present felt, as he smacked the second pitch of the at-bat to right field that brought home Pete Alonso and Juan Soto before being replaced by Luisangel Acuna to run the bases. Despite the injury, Lindor could be back in the lineup at some point during the weekend series, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.
Kodai Senga : Fans six in quality start
Senga didn't factor into the decision against the Rockies on Friday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out six across six innings. It was another dominant start for Senga, who generated 22 whiffs on 109 pitches (67 strikes). He retired the minimum number of batters in three of the first four innings, and his only blemish of the night was a Mickey Moniak solo homer in the third. It was Senga's sixth quality start of the season, and his 1.59 ERA (across 68 innings) is best in the National League among qualified starters. He's in line to make his next start against the Nationals at home next week.
Francisco Lindor : Out of lineup Friday
Lindor (toe) isn't part of the starting nine for Friday's game against the Rockies. Lindor is dealing with a broken right pinkie toe and isn't expected to require a stint on the injured list. However, he's not feeling well enough to start Friday, as Ronny Mauricio will fill shortstop. It's unknown when he'll be back in action, as it'll be entirely up to his pain tolerance. Per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, Carlos Mendoza said Friday that he wouldn't be surprised if Lindor was back sometime this weekend.
Francisco Lindor : Not expected to need IL stint
Lindor (toe) isn't viewed as a candidate for a trip to the injured list, Will Sammon of the Athletic reports. The All-Star shortstop was plunked by a Tony Gonsolin slider Wednesday that broke the pinkie toe on his right foot, and pain tolerance will determine how quickly Lindor can get back on the field. "I think it's going to be a nagging thing," he said before Thursday's game. "It's a bone; it's a broken bone. I think it takes six weeks for a bone to be fully healed." Luisangel Acuna got the start at shortstop Thursday and should hold down the starting job until Lindor is ready to return. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza indicated Lindor wasn't able to pinch hit Thursday, but it's not clear if that was simply a precaution, or if he will need multiple days off before getting back into the lineup.
