Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Nabers (toe) will not participate in mandatory minicamp, but there are no concerns about his availability for training camp, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports. Nabers missed spring OTAs and will now also sit out mandatory minicamp due to a toe injury that he reportedly dealt with in college and during his rookie campaign but that never required him to miss games or undergo an offseason procedure. New York simply appears to be taking a cautious approach to the budding superstar's health, with Daboll saying that the team is confident a rehab plan has been the best thing for Nabers, per Connor Hughes of SNY.tv. Daboll wasn't forthcoming with an exact recovery timetable, but the expectation should be that Nabers will be ready to kick off training camp in late July as a full participant. Expectations for the 2024 first-rounder are high after he compiled a 109-1,204-7 receiving line (on 170 targets) across 15 regular-season games as a rookie, and any option among the Giants' new quarterback trio consisting of Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and Jaxson Dart looks like an upgrade over last year's signal-callers.

Malik Nabers : No concerns for training camp
Jalin Hyatt : Done for the day
Hyatt departed Tuesday's mandatory minicamp practice early due to an apparent left leg injury, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. Hyatt had his left leg stretched by a trainer after exiting a practice drill early, then exchanged words with head coach Brian Daboll. The 2023 third-round pick has benefited from extra first-team reps with new quarterback Russell Wilson to start minicamp, with Malik Nabers (toe) still limited, it's notable that Hyatt is now being forced to miss some practice opportunities even if his injury is minor. Across 33 regular-season games played since entering the NFL, Hyatt has totaled 31 catches for 435 yards and zero touchdowns on 59 targets. He will have two more chances to get back on the field before minicamp wraps up Thursday.
Jaxson Dart : Working as QB2 in OTAs
Dart has typically been the second quarterback to mix in for the Giants at OTAs, behind Russell Wilson and ahead of Jameis Winston, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. Wilson is the clear starter, having taken all but a few first-team reps thus far, while Dart and Winston have been splitting second-team opportunities. Dart has shown impressive touch on his throws, but the rookie 25th overall pick is likely to begin his career in a backup role. The Giants could turn to Dart if they fall out of contention or Wilson struggles, and the team's difficult early schedule raises the likelihood of those scenarios.
Malik Nabers : Limited to walkthrough
Giants coach Brian Daboll said Thursday that Nabers (toe) is progressing but not quite ready to practice, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports. Nabers' toe injury reportedly dates back to college and then bothered him at times during his rookie season, but it isn't anything that led to missed games or required a procedure during the offseason. While yet to practice this spring, he's talking part in a walkthrough Thursday and may be ready for a full workload at the start of training camp in late July. It's unclear if Nabers has a chance to practice next week when the Giants hold mandatory minicamp June 17-19.
Abdul Carter : Moving around during OTAs
Carter has been used in various roles during OTAs as the Giants try to balance his playing time with Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. Burns and Thibodeaux are the nominal starters at outside linebacker, but the Giants deployed numerous packages featuring all three pass rushers, including some sets in which Carter shifted inside. The third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft also got some reps with the second-team defense, including one on which Carter sacked Jameis Winston.
Micah McFadden : Healthy to begin OTAs
McFadden (neck) has been practicing with the Giants' first-team defense in OTAs, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. McFadden missed the final two games of the 2024 season, but the starting linebacker has returned to full health to begin offseason team activities. In addition to featuring in the base defense, McFadden was part of the Giants' dime package in practice. He has exceeded 100 tackles in each of the past two seasons.
Darius Alexander : Not participating in OTAs
Alexander has not participated in the Giants' two open OTA practices, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. The 2025 third-round pick had "no helmet," and New York coach Brian Daboll didn't comment on the situation, per Leonard. Alexander has size (6-foot-4, 305 pounds) and athleticism (4.95-second 40-yard dash, 31.5-inch vertical jump), though he didn't start until his fifth season at Toledo in college. In the pros, he'll have a chance for at least a rotational role if he can get on the field.
Raheem Layne : Active at OTAs
Layne (knee) has been participating in the Giants' OTAs, John Schmeelk of the team's official site reports. Layne hurt his knee in Week 16 of last season and finished the campaign on IR. However, Schmeelk reports that the 25-year-old safety "made a couple good plays" during practice Friday, so it appears Layne is back to full health. He'll have a chance to compete for a depth role in the defensive backfield during training camp.
