PETER EVANS QUINTET : Three For Alice Registrato at Bimhuis, Amsterdam, on thursday 2.October.2014 FM FLAC
Peter Evans, trumpet
Sam Pluta, electronics and voice
Ron Stabinsky, pianoforte
Tom Blancarte, bass
Jim Black, drums and electronics
here is an intergalactic suite by evans, partially composed and partially imrovised, all dedicated to Alice Coltrane: it's in alleged three parts, but it's all a matter of personal opinions where these three parts could start and finish, as it all sounds the same for 50 and more minutes... Mostly other people do the killing and Zebulon trio are where this guy comes from
Also included in this folder as track00 a short introduction with bio notes and commentaries - this intro runs for 3'08", you can skip downloading it if you don't understand ITALIAN. THIS RECORDING WAS KINDLY PROVIDED BY DIMER ALIFIB

PETER EVANS - solo "ULRICHSBERG, 2007"
The picture above (by Iztok Zupan) is from the concert in Ulrichsberg's Pfarrkirche (parish church) during the Ulrichsberger Kaleidophon.
I only knew his solo CD from 2006. But to see and hear him in a live-setting was quite astonishing.
"Peter plays lines the likes of which I have never heard. Extremely chromatic, with wide intervals and unexpected changes of direction. This guy can play just about anything, it seems." Dave Douglas

EVANS - FERNÁNDEZ - GUSTAFSSON (EFG TRIO) "MUNICH 2012"
This was an excellent concert - and the music was quite different than what I've expected from their CD "Kopros Lithos" (you can get the CD here or there but also in downtown). More "subdued" but not less fascinating - maybe the music for an excellent SF (i know that's a rare species).
The concert and the three were a real fun to behold - haven't heard the recording yet, as I prefer to cherish my memories as long as possible - but you've missed it. So here's it for you.
Enjoy!

I've left the radio commentary and interviews in, not because they offer any particular insight into this music, but because they're quite funny.
