the dead C- language recordings volumes 1 and 2 (2000) ogg

Away from jazz based modes of improvisation for just an instant..

Heres an epic slab of prime narco fueled free post industrial improvised nowave neo psych madness.
This ones been out of circulation for a while ,and those familiar with dead c’s post siltbreeze releases on the bada bing, and starlight furniture labels
http://www.forcedexposure.com/bin/search.pl?search_string=dead+c&searchfield=artist

may need some priming in preparation for the unpleasant frisson generated by a post apocalyptic headfuck,.
Dead c developed in bored reaction to the morbund state of flying nun style orthodox new Zealand style guitar jangle pop.
Take the best improvised bits out of early sonic youth, remove the mostly boring lyrics, the pop hooks too then cross that with xenakis pieces kraanerg and persepolis, and you get an idea of the density of the sonic territory.
That doesn’t quite prepare you for the primal rhythmic, grunt punctuated by shimmer cymbal
Accents worthy of…
Its ironic that one of their best releases should be so inaccessible, 2nd hand copies of this are fetching quite some bucks on ebay.

Dead C- language recordings vols 1 and 2
Vol-1

a great show.

ripped to mp3 320, from a cd burn made from the minidisc
recording, i had to edit the end of the 2nd track slightly(about a minute or so, of microphone hum), otherwise the show was as you hear it.

ddaa 'nouveaux bouinages sonores, dans la periode '1992 illusion productions

hi
this one goes out to
mutant sounds
its a good one from 1992, by mysterious french experimental ,outsider ,stalwarts ddaa, there is very little info about this amazing music on the web.
and they seem to me at least often innacurately identified as an industrial band.
as a group they started playing music in
different guises in various combinations around 1975
the main members seem to be jean luc andre, guitar, piano, harmonica, percussion, textes, voice and electronics
and sylvie fee-violin ,piano, bass, percussion ,guitar ,voice, etcetera
stylistically, they are hard to pin down , mysterious cultic ramblings , texts that are as likely to draw on the russian anarchist revolutionary mackno as on french medievil litterature,
their website suggests an interest in ancient tribal cultures, and the music at times seems to comprise a radical inspired visionary primitivism.
musically there are many paralells with contemporaries such as nurse with wound in other words this is uncategorizable, and every album is inevitably quite different.
this release 'noveaux bouinages sonore ' (dans la periode) is one long hypnotic collaged piece, with many interelated subsections or parts that seem to melt together and coalesce into a vivid disturbing whole.
yep
i confess i know nothing at all about this band, but have enjoyed whatever i could glean over the past few years.
any one who likes experimental, and avant guard rock ,that is visionary in scope and diverse in its employ of soundsources, will probably enjoy discovering this
the subconcious plays a large part .
most of their releases have been limited to 500 or a thousand pressings and their early cassettes and lps , seem (judging by the prices on amazon and ebay to be highly collectible).
a pity because this music deserves much wider exposure.
some of their early music
action et demonstation japonaise 1981, and 'live in accapulco ' 1980 can be found at the great mutant sounds blog (see links)
their generally non informative, and deliberately obfuscatory webpage can be found here

mike cooper with-' micro megas '(aka galapagus fuck)

hi all
heres a private tape of the legendary british improvising/folk blues guitarist- mike cooper, playing with the almost unknown shortlived australian improv/drone rock collective 'micro megas' (aka galapagous fuck ,in honour of their formative influence).
this is a privately pressed cdr 10 copies or so only. recorded in the blue mountains n.s.w in 2004
all the tracks are untitled.
mike cooper-hawaian steel guitar, radio ,voice,track 1
only(its the longest track 40 minutes)
martin kirkwood- electric guitar, tapes, objects chris lines-double bass
john prendergast-cello,synth, perc. and queen mongo (slve to the slrc)- wind instruments ,objects, implements ,larynx.
for those who prefer their improv raw and unrefined, this very noisy session is for you.
it will surprise those who thought they knew mike's elegant national steel guitar style.
yes this is the mike cooper- of recedents fame
why he should have chosen to play with such a bunch of ecstato/primitive unknowns nobody knows.
nb )this recording is very grainy, and a little low- fi
heres a link to mike coopers homepage http://www.cooparia.org.uk/
PLEASE BUY MIKE COOPER CDS,
(i highly recommend live at cineclub detour an improv trio with richard nunns, and the italian instrument maker/improviser-elio martusciello)

dial-'infraction' released 1996 (no wave, avant rock)

heres a mysterious cd ive had for a while,a friend claimed he once read a review, that suggested this was an all female trio with some connections to the
little recorded late 70's newyork nowave band ut.
i have no idea if theres any connection. i cant find a
single referance to this anywhere that provides any more info than is on the cover.
all i can say is its a stunningly powerful album of very free rock with tunes that are minimaly composed a couple of the tracks are free improvs.
truly one of the best things in this vein ive ever heard.its ecstatic allright in its own numbed out way.sounds like it could even have been recorded in the late 70's or at any time between then and now.
if any body knows anything about the people on this disc please leave a comment. anyone liking classic mars, teenage jesus, early sonic youth
harry pussy,or even the nz free rock scene a la corpus hermeticum won't be disapointed.
BUY OTHER MUSIC BY DIAL,(AND IF YOU FIND ANY LEAVE A COMMENT WITH FULL DETAILS,I WANT MORE)the info which is included in the file lists these people as
j.ham-guitar,vocals r.smith-guitar,drum machine, d.weeks-bass
ripped to 192 vbr mp3
cheers
