Here are 9 beautiful 78's from Menir Moeda, his real name was Holil. The ones from Canary Records came out in the 1930's, not sure about the one from Odeon, could be 1920's or 1930's and the ones from Irama probably came out in the late 1940's or 1950's. Menir Moeda pioneered the Jenaka Sunda genre, basically telling and singing humorous stories accompanied by kecapi playing often using sésébréd (lighthearted, satirical verse) or sisindiran (pantun-style humor) to provide amusement and social commentary.... Canary Records were producing records from 1920 till 1940 and what's extra special (for me anyway) is that I have most of them in their original sleeves which are VERY rare....
