Well, this Wednesday it will be Idul Fitri, the day Muslims all over the world celebrate the end of the Holy month of Ramadhan. Here in Indonesia, what they call Mudik has been going on for the last few days and will continue till it is Wednesday. Mudik is when millions and millions of people travel to the places where they were born to celebrate Idul Fitri with their families. I saw a report today that said that this years Mudik is breaking all previous records, some 129 million Indonesians traveling, by car, by motor, by train, by bus, it's a time of truly insane traffic jams....

Anyway, here's a cassette, celebrating the Idul Fitri holiday from the Tapanuli area in North Sumatera, lots of gambus music from H. I wasn't really aware of her until I posted a cassette from her last week and I'm loving this Melayu Deli cassette from her with Zul Darwis (who, as far as I've been able to find out was a family member, maybe her brother, not sure yet) and the De Maricy Group.... Might have some more from her, but I'll be hunting for more of her music for sure....
