Christ, I really don't even know how much of this Buffet Server stuff I have right now! I need to get it all together one of these days and do a tally I guess. Well, add Two more really cool pieces to the lot!

Oh Wow, This Is The Last Of The Rutledge Flea Market Goodies. And Good Stuff It Is Indeed. You All Know Mr. Modtomic Loves The Corning Ware Buffet Server Stuff, Right? Status: Tossed On The Pile.

I've Featured The Treasure Aisle Antique Mall Before, But Something Was A Little Different This Time. There Just Wasn't Quite The Selection Of Vintage Modern That I've Come To Expect This Time Around. Still, For A Midwest Antique Mall...It's Not Too Shabby A Place To Shop. Status: Change Of Vendors?
I'm not sure if there a just a number of new vendors or if the current crew are changing their tune, but the stock of what WE like to find seemed kinda thin at Treasure Aisle this visit. I'm hoping it's not a trend.

It's Been A Little Lean 'Round These Parts Lately. I Didn't Make It To The Flea The Weekend Before Last And Sunday Was Kind Of A Bust Too. At Least The Trifts Still Deliver. Found This Buffet Server Pot And A Nice Frankoma Teapot Over The Weekend. Status: Collected.
I haven't been scouring the thrifts lately and thus haven't been finding that much by way of goodies. Even so, I did manage to drag home a nice pair of pots - one "tea" and one "soup". Both in perfect condition!

This Is It. The Last Of The Haul From The Highway 127 Worlds Longest Flea Market / Yard Sale. Just Two More Pieces And You'll Not Hear About Hwy 127 From Me Again For Years! Promise! Status: All Done.
Even though...or perhaps because...this stuff was so hard to find, hunting for and through the myriad of pop flea markets and yard sales was great fun. I wish I had taken more photos of the places we stopped and the stuff we saw, but alas...I'm in either photographer mode or buyer mode...and apparently, never the twain shall meet.

Just Like Every Road Trip Vacation, I Had To Do A "Little" Shopping While Out And About. I Didn't Push It This Year Quite As Hard As Other Years, But I Did Find Some Cool Stuff Along The Way. Status: From Afar.
There's' ALWAYS good stuff to be had while on the road. Ya just gotta know where to look...and look hard. And ya gotta stop. Stopping is the hard part because it sucks up time. Time I'd rather be exploring and discovering.

I Kinda Lost This Beautiful Jens Quistgaard / Dansk Lidded Pot For A Little Minute. Found It At Red Racks Thrift And Then It Just Disappeared. Status: Lost / Found / Tagged / Available.
I hesitated to tag this up and take it over to Creve Coeur today as these Dansk / Quistgaard pieces don't show up in the thrift stores all that often. Maybe I should be keeping some of them!

A Couple More Interesting Thrift And Estate Sale Smalls That I've Picked Up Recently. Another Copco Pan And A Few Pieces Of Dorothy Thorpe Silver Rim Snack Service. Status: Needin' Some Cleanup.
I seem to have a weakness for Michael Lax as well as Dorothy Thorpe lately. Or maybe it's just shiny stuff, I don't know. These are just a couple of the smalls I've gathered over the last couple days.

Ah, The Elusive Cherry Red Weber Kettle Bar-B-Que. I Found Another Beautiful Vintage Pit Over The Weekend But It's A Mess. Status: Ready For The Season!
I didn't have time thoroughly clean this up before shooting the pics, but I didn't know when I'd have time to finish the job so I went ahead and did the deed. Believe me, it looks A LOT better now than it did before I cleaned what I did!

Ahhhh...It's Finally The Weekend! You Have A Long One Too? Of Course, Just 'Cuz It's The Weekend Don't Mean Mr. M Gets To Rest. I Gots To Clean Up This Copco Lidded Pot And Get It And A Load Of Other Stuff To The Booths. Status: Never Ends.
Apparently a couple of large items left the booth at The Green Shag Market late last week. I shoulda gotten in there today but, well...you know how it is. Up 'til 3am doing bloggy stuff makes it tough to drop by before work.

HA! I Only Got To Utilize One Of The Three Recently Found Loose Buffet Lids But I Did Procure A Pair Of 8 1/2" Corning Ware Skillets To Add To The Collection. Status: Tossed On The Pile!
This new pair of skillet pans aren't actually labeled Buffet Server, but they are Corning Ware and share the same clean design, and the handles and lids fit just the same.

Saturday Was Mostly Spent On The Road Messing Around Central Illinois. We Started Out At The Belleville Flea Market And Ended Up In Springfield Illinois At The Barrel Anique Mall. Status: Tons Of Good Stuff!
This place, Barrel Antique Mall Springfield Il., was a pleasant surprise. It's always nice to find a vendor in an antique mall hawking the Vintage Modern. Sometimes it's just a one or two...maybe a few...vendors with a piece or two available, but this place had booth after lovely booth of good stuff!

After Finding A Trio Of Loose Lids A Few Days Ago At The Thrift Store I Got Busy Looking For Some Corresponding Lidless Corning Ware Buffet Server Pots. Alas, No Luck. Status: Well, Some Luck.
Since I was in the Columbia Missouri area anyway I went ahead and stopped by the Midway Antique Mall again. Last time there I picked up a nice Broyhill Brasilia 5 drawer chest that didn't last a little minute back here in my booth at Creve Coeur. No big scores there this time, but I did find a few pieces of Buffet Server!

You Ever Pass Up An Item At The Thrift And Then Later Kick Yourself, Finding That If You Had Bought It You Would Have Been Ahead Of The Game? This Lot Consists Of Nothing BUT These Type Of Finds! Status: Stash.
Nothing here is a complete set. Bunch of Corning Ware Buffet lids and a Dorothy Thorpe dip bowl all found at the local Goodwill last weekend. You just never know when you're gonna find their counterparts, right?

Some More Smalls To Keep Them Shelves Filled. Seems Like Most Of The Work Of Keeping A Booth In An Antique Mall Is Collecting, Tagging And Transporting The Smalls! Status: Gotta Do What I Gotta Do.
Yup, those shelves ain't gonna stock themselves! And lots of times, it's these small items that pulls your butt out of the "didn't make rent" fire. So, even thought it's such drudgery (it's so not!) I still gotta get it done.

You Might Remember This Joint As MoModerne, These Days It's MoModerne's Second Shop - Junk Junkie. This Might Be The Place To Look If You're Looking For Style And Aren't To Concerned With Names. You'll Definitely Keep Your Wallet A Little Fatter And If You Look Often Enough You Might Stumble Upon A Great Bargain. Status: Waiting For You To Stop By.
This afternoon the Girlfriend and I headed back down to the South Side to pick up a big piece for the house. Since we were in the area anyway, and partly because I hadn't been in since they opened under the new moniker...I decided to take a moment to check out Junk Junkie. Wanna take a look inside?

Work Vs. Reward. Sometimes You Hit Several Thrift Stores And Come Up Empty Handed. Then You Find That ONE Thing At Your Last Stop! And Sometimes That One Thing Makes It All Worth The Effort. Status: NIB
I had taken a trip to South County visiting Tandy Leather and the South County Antique Mall, picking up some beautiful suede from Tandy but otherwise not much...so I headed for the southern thrifts that I rarely hit. After visiting two others I found this NIB Dansk salad bowl set at the Goodwill for a song. Score!

Dang, It's Been A Long Time Since I've Found Some Cool Art. Kinda Makes Me Wanna Keep It! Le Creuset Cookware...Great Color And Great Cookware, But I Don't Really Cook. It'll Be Easier To Let Go. Status: Booth Fodder.
It's looking like an Orangey Orange weekend here at the Modtomic Ranch! Picked up a great Le Creuset sauce pan a couple days ago and just got the tall Sunset screenprint piece today.
