Our trip to the Litchfield Pickers Market yielded more than the little stool and phone I featured a couple days ago. This nice size acrylic modernist painting was also sourced on that lovely fall day. The little mod Tensor desk lamp was a thrift find that had been loitering in the back of the car for who knows how long...you know how it is.

A Couple More Small Items Picked Up Over The Last Few Weekends. Mod Desk Lights Aren't So Hard To Find But Original Mid Century Paintings...Good Luck! Status: Available.

Another Item Crossed Of My List. I Finally Found A Vintage Koch And Lowy Reading / Pharmacy Lamp! Not An Easy Find It Seems...Unless You're Looking In My Booth At The Time Machine Antique Mall. Status: Available.
I see tons of similar brass floor lamps at the thrift stores all the time, but a real Koch and Lowy? Not so much. This one turned up on craigslist and sat there for a few days before even I noticed it. Hard to believe I was the only one to notice it.

Sometimes I Do Things Out Of Order. I Searched Images On The Internet For About An Hour Trying To ID This Vintage Fluorescent Desk Lamp...And Then I Took A Second Look At The Lamp For A Label. Oh, It's Got A Fostoria Sticker. Status: ID'd.
So yeah, ID success! Yet still, I cannot find another Fostoria 1950s desk lamp like this on the webernets. I know I've seen this particular lamp around before so I thought it'd be easy to find a couple online. Not so much.

Posting Has Been Sparse, But Lots Of Good Stuff Has Been Flowing To The Booths. Check Out This Great Mid Century Modern Pole Lamp With Rattan Shades. It's Down At The Shag. Status: Available!
I almost passed on this beauty when we first spotted it at the Wentzville flea a couple weekends back. We actually did an entire run through the flea before coming back to it for a second look.

No, It's Not (As I Had Hoped So Hard For) A George Nelson Bubble Tension Pole Lamp, But Had Howard Miller Ever Produced A Tension Pole Lamp With A Nelson Bubble Shade...This Is Perhaps What It Would Have Looked Like. Status: Keeper.
We picked up this fantastic piece of lighting over the weekend at an estate sale that the Girlfriend had been made aware of through a friend. She actually spotted it first, but that's only because she went through the front door first.

Yes Yes, I Realize It's Been About A Month...But Half Of That Was My Being Trapped On A Deserted Island (St. Thomas USVI - Our 2015 Vacation). Here's A Cool Lamp And A Neat Glass Head From Recent Thriftbreak Excursions! Status: Soon To Be Available.
Yeah, after a couple of weeks off (believe me...there is NOTHING vintage modern to talk about on St. Thomas Island) it has been tough getting back on the horse. That and Flickr has messed with it's interface again, making it tougher to post from a phone.

The Nashville Flea Didn't Yield Too Much Loot, But Then It Did Seem To Be Just A Larger Version Of The Fleas We Have Here At Home. Still, If There ARE Any Nice Vintage Modern Items To Be Had, Such As This Pair Of Sonneman Table Lamps...Mr. M Is Gonna Find It! Status: Gone.
I just dropped off this beautiful pair of Robert Sonneman / Kovacs bubble table lamps at The Green Shag Market today. Not something you expect to find at a flea market, but they look right at home in the booth!

We Made Our First Flea Market Visits Of The Season Last Weekend. It Being So Early In The Season, It Was No Surprise We Didn't Come Home Overloaded With Goodies. Still, This Little Double Gooseneck Desk Lamp Was A Nice Find. Status: Gone.
Dang but I had a lot of lamps hangin' around here waiting to head down to the booth at The Green Shag Market. I say "Had" 'cuz I finally took a load of them and some other good stuff down there just this afternoon.

There's Something Magical About Finding Not Only A Matched Pair Of 3 Way Vintage Lamps But Also Their Matching Matched Pair Of Lamp Shades. That Was Kind Of A Mouth Full! Status: Gone!
Yeah, I KNOW! Number Four and Five! What? You haven't been keeping count? I have found three other lamp bases JUST like these, though none have had the original shades with them. One has already found a new home and the other two are waiting for new shades.

It's Like, You Can Go Weeks Finding Zilch At The Thrifts...Then One Day - Pla-cow! The Heavens Open Up And Pour Upon You An Abundance! This Time, A Cool Little Lytegem. Status: Bulbless
When you spot a Lightolier at the thrift store, it comes home with you...even if it is this tiny little desk telescope eyeball thing missing its bulb. Problem is, I think it may be missing a little bit more than just the bulb.

Out And About Today To Pick Up Some Craigslist Goodies, I Stopped By A Couple Of Thrifts And Found This Cool Retro TV Lamp And A Weird Bit Of PC Electronica. Status: Strange Blog-fellows / lamp = GONE.
This vintage TV lamp really isn't Modern or Atomic...but it is Retro, and we do Retro around these here parts. The mysterious black box...well, it'd be a mystery then wouldn't it?

OK, I'm Off To New Orleans For A Nice Long Weekend Of Eating Fine Food, Drinking Fine Wine And Laughing A Bit Too Loudly With Fine Friends. I Leave You Today With This Harlequin Pattern Swag Lamp. Status: More Lighting - Soon To Be Available.
This too was rescued from certain doom when I picked it up from the house clean out that I participated in a few weeks ago. Many of the other items I culled from that sale have already found new homes...some ridiculously quick! I've still got to clean up the chain on this, but I think that when it hits the floor (so to speak), it'll go fast as well!

What A Gorgeous Weekend! Yesterday We Spent The Day Driving From Craigslist Buy To Craigslist Buy...Plus A Little Thirfting Thrown In For Good Measure. Status: Double Score.
What I picked up was the splendid new (yes, NIB for $225 w/ Zoom Lens Kit!) Nikon 1 J3 camera that I shot this fantastic Sonneman Orbiter floor lamp with. The camera took us to Edwardsville Il. and then we had to tool all the way down to Festus Mo. to pick up the Sonneman score. Lots of driving.

Not Much Happening Around Casa Modtomic...So I'll Just Have To Bore You With Another Look Around Another City's Craigslist. This Time Fayetteville Arkansas. Status: Not My Turf!
I noticed yesterday that fantastic designer Emily Henderson had posted her version of a Masdison craigslist scavenger too! In the comments Laura asked if Emily might sift through Fayetteville Arkansas' craigslist and since I didn't have anything else to blog about...Oh, and there don't seem to be any "Greetings From" postcards out there on Flickr.

Just In The Nick Of Time, A Woodard Patio Set Moved Leaving A Gaping Hole In My Booth At The Green Shag Market. Just In The Next Nick Of Time I Found A Beautiful Kofod Larsen Chair To Fill It! Status: Available.
Then the Kofod Larsen lounge chair score turned into a lounge chair, Thonet side table and cool brass pharmacy reading lamp score! The craigslist chair seller had all kinds of extra stuff for sale and well, since I was there. ::shrug::

It's Been A Little While Since I've Done A "Not My Turf" Post. Here's One From Madison Wisconsin And There's Lots Of Good Stuff To Be Had. Status: Check It Out!
Yes, Greeting indeed! Why does it seem that the more northerly cities have more cool vintage modern? Not that there's no good stuff in the south...why, Mr. Modtomic just dropped about 10 ads on the New Orleans craigslist! Yup, shameless self promotion. Anybody between StL. and NOLA need me to bring them anything around Halloween?!

Sorry I've Been Absent As Of Late. My Phone / Camera Has Been Given Me Da Blues. I Shoulda Shot This Quartite Table Lamp During The Day But The Best Laid Plans...And All That. Status: All Original And Available.
It's a lovely lamp. And it works as designed. Flip the switch...lumens emerge, unlike that little retro light I featured a couple days ago. It still needs to be fixed before I can let it go. This big beauty? It's ready to go!

Ever Watch Mystery Science Theater 3000? This Really Cool Retro Swag Light Somehow Reminds Me Of The Opening Of That Show. Status: Available.
This is yet more lighting (albeit Mood lighting) from the clean out I did a few weeks ago. I brought home a total of four lights and still have two more to show ya. Doesn't that look like you're under water or sumpthin'?

Wow, What A Change...Now It's Smalls That Are Slow To Be Found! And Camera Tripods. I'm Trying To Find Another Cheap But Quality Tripod But Came Home With The Yellow Cat Lamp. Status: Available.
Cool lamp, huh. And is that another small Jere sunburst with geese? Yup. But that's about it for small vintage goodness. Of course, I haven't been looking real hard lately either. But now I need another camera tripod so I'll be looking a bit more.

I Find The Happy Coincidences Necessary To Put This Fantastically Mod Swag Light In It's Next Home Just Crazy! Of Course The Final Move Will Be The Easiest, At Least From My Perspective! Status: Available.
This super mod swag lamp came from the same home as the last four chairs I've featured here. I tol' ya! I cleaned the joint out! Today I got to thinking about the long journey it took for me to get there. Want the condensed version? Yeah, I don't have THAT much time either!
