Never had a chance to hang out at Rocket Century and groan and sigh over all the pretty things you'd totally want to haul home? Well, here's an opportunity to see what you've been missing. I'm still on the upward stroke of the video learning curve, but I think this is my best one yet.

Last Night We Decided To Try The Dinner Menu At Rooster On Grand. Since We Were Mere Footsteps From Rocket Century, A Visit With Proprietor Kristina Seemed Like A Good Idea. Shot A Little Video While Hanging Out. Status: Perused.

I've Featured The Treasure Aisle Antique Mall Before, But Something Was A Little Different This Time. There Just Wasn't Quite The Selection Of Vintage Modern That I've Come To Expect This Time Around. Still, For A Midwest Antique Mall...It's Not Too Shabby A Place To Shop. Status: Change Of Vendors?
I'm not sure if there a just a number of new vendors or if the current crew are changing their tune, but the stock of what WE like to find seemed kinda thin at Treasure Aisle this visit. I'm hoping it's not a trend.

The Third Piece Of Broyhill Sculptra This Week! AND This Is The Second Sculptra Knee Hole Desk That I've Made Available. The Last One Found A New Home All The Way Up In Chicago! Status: Already Gone.
Just behind the desk you can see the full size bookcase headboard that also came with all the Sculptra that I just dropped off in booth 307 at The Antique Mall Of Creve Coeur. Now you know why it took me FIVE hours to bring all this in, clean it all up, photograph it and tag it! That's just a lot of big furniture!

Yes! More Sculptra! This Five Drawer Chest Of Drawers Came In Along With The Six Drawer Dresser That I Featured The Other Day. A Nice Set You Say? Besides These Two There's Still More! Status: Already Gone.
Yep, this was part of Saturday's haul what cost Mr M. five full hours of hard labor. It's a tough row to hoe, but somebody's got to do it...and I don't mind so much. It's nice to have such a large space here in Creve Coeur that I can do just a bit of re-arranging and manage to stuff in a few more large items.

Timing Is Everything. Just After Finding A New Home For That Vintage Redline BMX Bike I Found A Couple Weeks Back I Picked Up This Beautiful Broyhill Sculptra Dresser (And More). Status: Already Gone.
What a day. Beautiful weather, shifting merch. and hauling in more! I spent 5 hours today buying, hauling, moving, cleaning, tagging and photographing new items for my booth at the Antique Mall of Creve Coeur. Pretty great way to spend a Saturday if you ask me!

Dang! I've Been So Busy Lately That I Nearly Forgot That I Picked Up This Set Of Four Broyhill Brasilia Dining Chairs A Couple Weekends Back! These Seem To Be Becoming Harder To Come By, Even Around Here In The Mid-West. Status: Soon To Be Paired.
OK, so that's not a set of four Broyhill Brasilia chairs is it? Nope. That's last evening's dinner! Ah...finally, Bar-B-Que season. Just had to share that. 'Twas my first time with real lump charcoal too. It's a learning curve, but I'm getting there. Just gotta get out there more often to hone those skills. Anyway, click through to check out the chairs!

So What Does $25 (Plus Admission - $10 each) Buy A Vintage Modern Scavenger At The Gypsy Caravan? With Careful Selection...Quite A Bit! Status: Parking Nightmare...Apparently.
Upon checking out Twitter hashtag "GypsyCaravan" last evening I found that MANY attendees of said flea market had a myriad of issues with parking. We had no troubles parking at all but we arrived about Ten minutes after Nine AM. It was getting back out at about One PM that gave us troubles.

Yes! More Broyhill Brasilia! This Small China Cabinet Is Already Gracing My Booth At The Green Shag Market. I Recently Moved Some Large Pieces And Was Lucky Enough To Find This To Take Up The Slack. Status: Come-N-Gettit!
This is one of my favorite Brasilia pieces. It's ratio of "Brasilia-ness" to utility is higher than most with those big full sculptural swoops on the lower doors, only bettered IMHO by the Tall Chest. Now THAT beast has some serious "Brasilia-ness"!

I Don't Get Out To The Other Shops Around Town Often Enough. I Stopped In At The Future Antiques A Few Days Ago And Was Surprised By All The Beautiful Broyhill. Status: Amazed!
Everybody here knows that Brasilia is Mr. Modtomic's favorite Broyhill Premier line...but TFA only had one piece in house at the time I was there. They certainly didn't lack for other lines to make up for it! Sculptra, Saga and even a couple of pieces of Forward 70 were well represented.

So Between Exploring "The Strip" At The Lake Of The Ozarks And Having A Wonderful Meal In A Cave (See Yesterday's Post!) I Managed To Fit A Little CraigsPicking In And Wound Up With This Super Rare Broyhill Brasilia Bookcase. Status: Available!
Mr. Modtomic LOVES him some Brasilia. I'm always on the hunt for another piece and when I find the rare specimen it just makes my lil ol' heart go pitter patter pitter patter. So you know how overjoyed I was to spotted this gem while in the Ozarks.

Saturday Was Mostly Spent On The Road Messing Around Central Illinois. We Started Out At The Belleville Flea Market And Ended Up In Springfield Illinois At The Barrel Anique Mall. Status: Tons Of Good Stuff!
This place, Barrel Antique Mall Springfield Il., was a pleasant surprise. It's always nice to find a vendor in an antique mall hawking the Vintage Modern. Sometimes it's just a one or two...maybe a few...vendors with a piece or two available, but this place had booth after lovely booth of good stuff!

Ok Ok! Yes, I Did Happen To Pick Up A Second PIece Of Broyhill Brasilia At The Auction Last Weekend. I've Always Wanted A Brasilia Server Like This, Even Though I Have Absolutely No Place...Or Really Use For One. Well, I've Got A Litle Time To Decide If It's A Keeper, Off It Goes To Dan To Get Freshened Up...Then We'll Decide. Status: Wanting For Some Love.
Yes indeed, Mr. M does indeed have a certain weakness for Broyhill Brasilia. I've had an opportunity to pick up one of these drop leaf servers here and there, but it just didn't ever work out. When the bidding at the auction stopped and the auctioneer was still pointing at me...well, I guess my time had finally come!

See That? That's What Rosewood Looks Like! ::Sigh:: Ain't It Just Beautiful? It Just Reeks Of Luxury. It's Not Easy To Come By These Days. That's Why It's Expensive And Much Sought After. You Might Still Find Some Down At Rocket Century If You Hurry! Status: Where To Shop.
Rocket Century isn't that new 'round here anymore. They've been around for years and have had the shop open on Grand for quite a while now, but the shop's mode of operation has changed recently and it makes for varied mix of styles and items. If you've not been in the last month, a visit is in order!

Wow, Is Mr. Modtomic Living An Episode Of The Twilight Zone? The Estate Sales AND Auctions Were Good To A Mr. Today! So Strange. Anyway, Can You Guess What This Is? Status: Auction Booty!
Heh, yeah...I was watching a movie on Netflix the other night called Grabbers about these blood sucking alien sea-monsters that attack this Irish sea side town...but are allergic to alcohol. Of all the places for such an alien sea-monster to land. Anyway, the protagonist asks his side kick this question: "Do you know what this is?" (see above pic).

...And Finally, The Swag From The Midway Antique Mall! I Only Journeyed To Mid-Missouri For One Dresser, But Returned Home With A Car Load! Status: Nice Haul.
The last item I found at the Midway Antique Mall was this Moe Honeycomb pendant lamp. It's in remarkably good shape, having no appreciable scratches or any cracks in that beautiful golden orange honeycomb cone.

Ever Been To Toledo Ohio? Me Either! But If I Ever Go, I'll Be Sure To Take The Wagon, Cuz I'll Be Comin' Home With Lots Of Good Stuff! Wanna See What I Found? Status: Not My Turf!
Finding good stuff on craigslist around the holidays is kinda tough. I'm just about sick of looking at the same stuff getting "bumped" up the list over and over here at home! It's probably a good thing though as I'm trying to be good right now and NOT buy every little deal I spot!

You Just Gotta Be Gettin' Sick Of Seeing This Booth By Now, But This Is What I'm Up To At The Moment. Plus, I Can't Really Be Buying Up Much Right Now...Moving The Shop Stock To A Space Half The Size! Status: Gettin' There.
::sigh:: Honest, I really do wish I was capable of keeping booth 195 this uncluttered. It's just not gonna happen. I got too much stuff and not enough space...anyone could see there gonna be trouble.

How Far Would You Drive And To Score What? Mr. Modtomic Has Been Known To Wander Far And Wide To Acquire Many A Treasure. How 'Bout You? Status: Curious.
Roadtrips must be in my blood. I've been to California three time and only flew there (against my better judgement) once. Every Spring and Summer the Girlfriend and I strike out toward parts unknown in the car, looking for adventure. Even the drive to Chicago from St. Louis, what would seem pretty boring, is actually quite nice...what with all the pretty windmills and usually a lovely sunset!

Broyhill Brasilia II - Revisited! Reader Jon From The Seattle Area Was Kind Enough To Share Photos Of Not Only Their Personal Brasilia Collection (That IS Available!) But Also A Special Gift For All Of Us Brasilia Lovers. Status: FINALLY!!!
Reader Jon B. found Mr. Modtomic while looking for info to price their amazingly complete, second owner dining room suite. They found an earlier post wherein we discussed the dining table as presented by The Nomads and realized there was a dearth of info on the Brasilia II line. Because of their generousity, that's about to change!

After A Year And A Half (I Think) I've FINALLY Invested In Some Proper Shelves For My Booth (#5) At The Green Shag Market! Status: Full-A-Goods!
Yup! Mr. Modtomic finally splurged on some nice brass and glass shelves to better display all the wonderful smalls (and apparently mediums!) that I've got down at The Shag.
