Live 1966 is a live album by British rock group Small Faces, initially released on 4 June 2021, becoming the first release on drummer Kenney Jones Nice Records. The album is a remastered soundboard recording of the Small Faces 9 January 1966 performance at the Twenty Club in Mouscron, Belgium.

The material on the album was initially released with a book called Smalls in 2017. Ian McLagan & The Bump Band - Live At Lucky Lounge (Re-post)

Ian McLagan & The Bump Band - Live At Lucky Lounge - 2013

Ian McLagan, along with singer/guitarist Steve Marriott, bass player Ronnie Lane, and drummer Kenney Jones, was a member of the British pop/rock band the Small Faces, joining in November 1965, six months after the group's formation. Before then, he had been a member of Boz & the Boz People, among other groups. McLagan's first recorded work with the Small Faces was their third single, "Sha La La La Lee," which peaked in the U.K. Top Ten in March 1966. A teenybopper success at first, the band eventually gained greater critical standing by adopting a more psychedelic style. Over the next two years, they scored further Top Ten British hits with "Hey Girl," "All or Nothing" (which hit number one), "My Mind's Eye," "Itchycoo Park" (which introduced them to American listeners, hitting the U.S. Top 40), "Tin Soldier," and "Lazy Sunday," and among their albums, Small Faces reached the Top Ten and Ogden's Nut Gone Flake hit number one.

In March 1969, Marriott quit to form Humble Pie. Three months later, McLagan, Lane, and Jones combined with singer Rod Stewart and guitarist Ron Wood, formerly of the Jeff Beck Group, to form the Faces. This group developed a reputation for its freewheeling performances, but it was overshadowed by Stewart's solo career, which took off in the fall of 1971 with his hit "Maggie May." Nevertheless, the Faces also had considerable commercial success, reaching the U.K. Top Ten with the singles "Stay with Me," "Cindy Incidentally," and "Pool Hall Richard"/"I Wish It Would Rain," and the albums A Nod Is as Good as a Wink...to a Blind Horse, Ooh La La (which hit number one), and Coast to Coast: Overture and Beginners. But in 1975, Stewart quit, while Wood joined the Rolling Stones, and the Faces broke up.

In the two decades since his arrival in Austin, ex-Faces/Small Faces linchpin and sideman-to-the-stars Ian McLagan has lived up to his status as local musical royalty, delivering consistently excellent new music and energetic live gigs with various incarnations of his crack combo the Bump Band. The veteran Brit singer/keyboardist's long-running happy-hour residency at the Lucky Lounge remains an ideal venue for his mix of boozy buoyancy and unfussy expertise, and this effortlessly amiable 14-song set spins a high-spirited document of the intimate living-room ambiance of those gigs. With effervescent rockers from McLagan's solo catalog augmented by enduring chestnuts by the Small Faces ("Get Yourself Together"), Faces ("Cindy Incidentally"), and ex-bandmate Ronnie Lane (uplifting set-closer "Kuschty Rye"), Live at the Lucky Lounge offers a joyous gem that underlines this Rock & Roll Hall of Famer's stature as a musical gift that keeps on giving.

Ian McLagan And The Bump Band- Live At WXPN

Ian McLagan And The Bump Band- Live At WXPN - 2008

Ian McLagan And The Bump Band - United States

Ian McLagan And The Bump Band - United States - 2014

01. All I Wanna Do
02. Pure Gold
03. Don’t Say Nothing
04. I’m Your Baby Now
05. Mean Old World
06. Love Letter

Ian McLagan - Rise & Shine (re-re-post)

Ian McLagan - Rise & Shine - 2004

By Matt Fink, Paste Magazine

Over three decades since Ian McLagan joined Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane to form the best mod band this side of The Who, The Faces remain one of the most brilliant overlooked bands of their generation. Given the rock ’n’ roll muse’s tendency to abandon musicians who ply their trade in the genre for more than 20 years, there was plenty of opportunity for this album (only McLagan’s second solo outing in the last 24 years) to end up a nostalgia piece for a man few currently recognize as more than a session keyboardist for the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan. To that extent, Rise and Shine is an unmitigated success, better than just about any release from his reasonable British rock facsimiles. Having set down roots in Texas, more than a little heartland twang creeps into the tracks such as the effervescent power-pop of “Rubies in Her Hair” and the quasi-choir sing-along in the clever “The Wrong Direction.” Even better are the delicately soulful ballads, evoking Exile on Main Street-era Stones on the earnest “Anytime” and the bluesy dobro and gospel piano of “Lying.” He even channels a bit of Faces swagger in the rollicking “Been A Long Time,” one of the greatest blasts of mod rock since the band’s run ended. Sure, they aren’t all winners here, and the point can be reasonably argued that the sentiments once befitting him as a young man seem more than a little awkward springing from the mouth of a rock veteran nearing his 60th birthday, but the personality and distinction invigorating his work is truly stunning.

Featuring ten tracks either written or co-written by Lane throughout the span of his career as a musician and one written by McLagan for Lane, it was recorded in February and March 2006 at McLagan's Manor, Texas studio, The Doghouse, with his backing group, the Bump Band in tow alongside such guests as famed Austin, Texas disc jockey Jody Denberg.

Ian McLagan - Here Comes Trouble

Ian McLagan - Here Comes Trouble - 2005

Ian McLagan's first solo album 'Troublemaker' got critical raves and even made the charts when it was released in 1979. This collection has been re-mastered with seven extra tracks, none of which have ever been heard before on CD.

Apart from Ian McLagan: vocals, piano & Hammond B3, the band was Johnny Lee Schell: guitars and vocals, Jim Keltner: drums, and Paul Stallworth: bass.

The album is full of great songs and performances, and features the only released recording of the New Barbarians on 'Truly', a reggae favorite. Ronnie Wood & Keith Richards on guitars, Stanley Clarke on bass, Bobby Keys on Sax, and Zigaboo Modeliste on drums. And in a separate session Ringo Starr played drums on 'Hold On'. There are also four tracks from McLagan's album, 'Last Chance To Dance', 'Pictures Of Lily' from a Who Tribute disc, a reworking of 'Last Chance To Dance' with Mac's Texas Bump Band, and the complete 12 minute original take of 'Truly' with Keith and Mac's backing vocals

Ian McLagan - Rise & Shine

Ian Mclagan - Spiritual Boy

Ian Mclagan - Spiritual Boy - 2006

From Wikipedia
Spiritual Boy is the seventh album by former Small Faces and Faces keyboardist Ian McLagan. The album was intended as a tribute to his band mate in both groups, singer-songwriter Ronnie Lane, released on what would have been Lane's sixtieth birthday, 1 April 2006, on McLagan's own Maniac Records.
