Think Happy Thoughts

I overlooked publishing this post last week when the September Challenge at Path of Positivity started.  I'm here now though to share my project:

I have used a digital paper from Bearly Mine Designs.  The image is from Pickled Potpourri Designs and I'm not sure who the sentiment is from (it was in my Awaiting  Crafting box and not marked with a source).  Colouring is with copic markers and inking with Distress Ink.  I also used a piece of organza ribbon.

I would like to enter:

Present Not Perfect

This is part two of the flip calendar that I created as my DT inspiration for the current challenge at Path of Positivity of which the theme is Present Not Perfect.  Part one of my calendar can be found here, the midway challenge post here and the link up here.

This month we are sponsored by Pickled Potpourri Designs and Imagine That.

For my midway make, I have used several sets from Pickled Potpourri Designs - Pink Polka Dot Calendar Set and Forever Friends as well as Botanical Minis.

The quotes that I used come from Brainy Quotes and I have typed them out on my computer.  Colouring is with copic markers.  I also added some embellishments from Rosie's Studio along with some die-cut embellishments.  I bound the calendar using the Zutter binding system.

I would like to enter my calendar pages into these challenges:

Flip Calendar

I decided that I wanted to challenge myself - and try to create something diffferent.  So, for my project for Path of Positivity for May, I have created a flip calendar.  The theme for May is Present Not Perfect and I found a few great quotes to add to my calendar pages.  The challenge for May is sponsored by Imagine That and Pickled Pot Pourri Designs.

I have used a calendar template from Pickled Pot Pourri Designs along with images from Imagine That - Freda's Flower Basket and Daffodil.

I also used some cardstock from Rosie's Studio and some embellishments also from Rosie's Studio plus some dome button stickers.  Matting is some metallic cardstock.  Colouring is with copic markers.

Faith 2

I made two cards for the midway point of the challenge at Path Of Positivity.  This month, the theme is Faith.  Details of the challenge can be found here

For my second card, I used a different image from Pickled Pot Pourri Designs:

I coloured the candle and holly using copic markers and then used two different copic markers to outline parts of the image and sentiment.  I added some liquid pearls as highlights.  I also used some lace across the card.  The sentiment is from  Décosse's Dynamite Doodles and is a quote from Helen Keller.

Path of Positivity Challenge - Determination

This is something that I have had to deal with a lot in my life and also encouraging my son in particular that determination and hard work brings results.  At the age of 6 years old he was told he wasn't a good enough swimmer to compete in a Fun Club Night.  Initially that got him down, until I asked him if he was going to let them "win" and prove them right.  That was enough to make him determined enough to prove them wrong - a year later he qualified for a National Swim Competition!  It happened again when he was about 8 years old when he was told that he couldn't learn the trombone as he failed the musical aptitude test.  Six months later, his determination (and hard work) was enough to get him promoted into the Senior School band!  He continued to play for another 6 years until time pressures meant he had to stop playing.

So with that in mind, this image which sort of fits the same field appealed.  I know from friends who danced that what looks easy does in fact take a lot of determination and hard work!

The image that I chose to use is from Pickled Pot Pourri Designs and is called Just Dance.  The sentiment is from Colin Powell and I typed it up using one of the fonts on my computer.  The background paper is from a paper pad (I think it might be Kaisercraft).  I used my favourite colour of yellow throughout also colouring some white ribbon roses from my stash with my copic marker.  The stitching has been added with a Distress Marker.

CRAFT Challenge - Recipe
http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/challenge-264-19th-of-june-recipe.html

I have used three papers from Trimgym for this card.  The good thing about papers from Trimgym is that they come in a co-ordinating set and really work well together (and the patterns are gorgeous!)  The beautiful butterfly and rose image that I have used comes from Pickled Potpourri Designs.  I have coloured using copic markers and then added a bit of Stickles to the butterfly and rose.  I tied my ribbon into a bow and then added two rhinestones for my two embellishments (I didn't count the bow).
