Happy 50 Birthday

A friend of the family is turning 50 next week.  As far back as I can remember she has been involved with horses and equestrian events.

I have used a paper from a paper pad by Kaisercraft that is relatively unpatterned (there are areas of lighter green but once I started covering the paper with the image, sentiment and embellishments it is harder to see that).  The horse image is from QKR Stampede and the sentiment is from Netty's Cards.  I printed out an image from Squigglefly which I fussy cut to use as an embellishment.  Colouring of the images is with copic markers.  I also added some gold rope and gold pearls.  Matting is gold foil cardstock.

I'll be home for Christmas.......

I have used a paper from a Christmas paper pad by Kaisercraft.  The image is from Squigglefly and has been coloured with orange and yellow copic markers with a blue and Stickles used on the clouds.  I added some faux stitching around the image and typed a sentiment.  I added some buttons to the card and glittered them with Stickles.  The border is a die cut from a Kaisercraft paper pad.

I have used a paper from Rosie's Studio for the background.  I embossed a piece of yellow paper using an embossing folder.  The image is from Squigglefly artist Diane Carubia.  I coloured using copic markers E00, E77, E71, Y08, YR68, BG10, BG34, YG23.  I die-cut a butterfly using an offcut piece of paper and a die that came free with a magazine.  I added some tiny pearls above the butterfly as antenna.

I have used a background paper that reminds me of school exercise book pages.  The striped paper is an offcut from another card.  The image is Back To School Bear from Diane Carubia.  I have coloured the bear with copic markers.  I used some dark blue cardstock from Rosie's Studio for the matting.

I have used a paper from Kaisercraft that had the Squigglefly challenge colours throughout!  The image is from Deena Perreault and can be found here.  I die-cut the image using a Spellbinders Labels die and then inked around the edge using Distress Ink - Mustard Seed.  I added some orange mesh ribbon, orange satin ribbon tied in a bow and a sentiment from a Kaisercraft paper pad.

I have used red cardstock for the layering plus embossed some squares of white.  The image is a freebie from Squigglefly and has been coloured with copic markers E02, YG03, YG00, G17, RV14, R14, W3, W0, E41.  I have also added some red and white twine from American Crafts, three little red roses and a green charm.

I have used some papers from a paper pad by DCWV which is called Lemon Flowers.  Since my favourite colour is yellow I just had to have it!!  The image is from Squigglefly and has been coloured with copic markers.  When I was looking for yellow embellishments I found these yellow circles - not sure if they were waste from another die or whether I had punched too many for another project but they were just what I needed!  I embellished them further with some yellow rhinestones.  I added a sentiment from Sans Designs.  I wrapped some twine around the contrast piece at the bottom of the card.

Thank You Single Layer Card

I have had a go at creating a single layer card - I'm not totally pleased with how this turned out.  Think I need a bit more practice but it is good to try new things out!

I have used an image from Squigglefly.  I stamped a Thank You using a rubber stamp from Hero Arts.  I haven't used rubber stamps in a while!  I hand drew on some notes to create a border - a bit rusty on my music knowledge so I hope they are all correct.  My daughter is a flautist and will certainly tell me if I got it wrong!  I cut the edge of the card with a Spellbinder Borderabilities die to create a more interesting look to the card.

I just found out there is a challenge for Squigglefly images so even though there was only a few hours left to run on the challenge I wanted to give it a go.  Okay, the main reason I was tempted is that it was using the colours blue and orange and as orange is one of my fave colours (the other is yellow) I just couldn't resist!

I have used a paper from Kaisercraft for the background of this card.  The image is from Squigglefly and has been coloured with copic markers YR07, YR04, B05, B000, C7.  I used a Distress Marker - Salty Ocean to doodle the notes around the outside of the image.  The die for the rounded square is from Spellbinders.  The musical die is from Memory Box and has been cut from textured cardstock by DCWV.
