Free Henry!
The idea itself is cool: "Burgplatz Open Air". Every summer for a few weeks they have theatre or opera on Burgplatz.
Actually, because... I like neither.
So, every summer Henry is gone for me for a few weeks.
Glad he´s back now!
The way to the city and back is a pleasure now!
My sunflowers don´t bloom yet.
The weather is rather autumn-like but forecast is good.
Positive thinking :-)

Fun Stuff. And A Penguin
Need new ideas for your look? Stop by at this hairdresser!
Boring me certainly did not go in. With hair like mine it´s useless. But fun idea, no?
Am I glad you can take pics so easily these days.
Because... I don´t have space for this, but awwww, so cute, no?
And very, very sadly this one was too cheap. So... pic only, but cool, no?
Fun stuff, huh?
Surprisingly empty, this cool playground...
The penguin? actually there are two, one is for Niece for her 5th birthday.
I tell you, it was hard getting them!
It´s a kids-store in Wolfsburg.
T II (III) told me it´s hard to find, you have to go to the second level (he´s already a Granddad, so he knows stores like that).
Yes. You could see through.
My fear of heights is getting worse and worse. Luckily there was a lift - with glas.
It´s ridiculus! I told myself I´m silly, nothing can happen, yet my heart raced like crazy.
Guess I was real pale when I arrived, the assistant gave me a strange look.
But I managed. New addition!
Yes, a cheapy, but what the heck, kinda cool, no?
Fun :-)

(Not Really) Funny - Over The Rainbow
Ingo still had something to do at home so I went to the city by myself to meet him later there, delivering the original "Little Giant Girl"-T-Shirt to the T-Shirt shop to reprint it for Niece on a pink longsleeve shirt.
Next I went to Thalia to get another part of a pressie "my" book-store, Graff, does not have.
3rd floor. Slow escalators with glass-walls, gahhhh. No Ingo, either, more gah!
(Stupid) Fear of heights!
I managed up.
Searched and - weird enough! - by chance saw manual music boxes, something we haven´t seen around for at least two years!
Maybe Thalia had them for ages, but, us... Graff, right?
Amongst the five on display was "somewhere over the rainbow" - sorry, evenings are getting dark already, this is the best we could do:
Ingo´s fav ad in Perth, he got it on his tablet (and my HUAWEI) now.
Online it was sold out already.
Weird, huh. Got three interesting books on health and how our brain works - and luckily the stuff I actually wanted.
I asked the cash-out-lady, my age, btw, where the lift is, mentioning my weird, useless fear of heights.
She got a tad hectical and offered to help me down the escalator.
I thanked her but said I prefer the lift.
Ummm... she didn´t know exactly, she is claustrophobic.
By golly, I nearly had to laugh!
Is that part of getting old?! Guess so, huh?
Really, no kidding: Later we saw a documentary on two men, one blind, the other without arms, helping each other.
Sometimes I´m not sure.
Is life laughing about me, at me, is it all coincidence, is it awesome, what?
Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high
There's a land that I heard of, once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream, really do come true
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow, why then, oh why can't I?

Kuuuuh!!!! What Time Is It, Joondalup?
I know.... We´re a tad on the slow side with this.
But finally we, or rather Ingo (I helped a little) made it!
The $2-clock I bought in Joondalup finally is up and about.
To the ceiling. Ingo´s idea, he´s the creative one, not me (sadly).
Number 25.
When I was a kid I hated the ticking, now I love it (obviously).
The title?
See the picture hanging on the ceiling, the black bull?
It hung in our last apartment already.
It took Bro about 20 minutes to see it.
Niece? After 20 minutes being in the kitchen about two years ago she screamed "cowwwww", pointing to the ceiling.
As Dad as Daughter... why ever it is a cow to her, aren´t cows black and white? Or brown and white?
Now I said over an hour. Ingo didn´t bet how long it´ll take them to notice...
Uh-oh, gotta get some new batteries for the clock above the door, right?
In case you wondered... Ingo took care. The ceiling clock isn´t glued to the ceiling - he used magnetics:
The bottom of the soup-tin.
No worries with changing batteries or time.
And for Bro (and Niece) we put a sticker on the fridge.
Maybe under an hour then, but I don´t bet, that´s mean, kinda ;-)

Right Thing To Do
I took the poppy inside on Saturday before we left for "Croatia", and lucky thing I did, too!
We watched it all later with Henry´s shilouette:
Storm, by golly.
I can´t remember storm at this time of the year!
Sunday we went for a walk...
And look what Ingo put outside again!
Good thing I brought them inside, right?

Another Trip To Croatia
Despite the bad weather we left our little street and went to Split, a Croatian restaurant nearby.
This was the first book I read in English, btw. No dictionary. Nearly 30 years ago.
We don´t go out for dinner often, so this was a treat :-)
I had warm sheep's milk cheese, yummo!
Ingo had liver. Brrr.
I don´t know how they do it, but...
Really. I couldn´t eat it all, not even the bread.
And this is called "appetizer"?
Being full is an understatement!
Y.U.M!

They Do That!
New Yorker is a ... what... "fashion" store-chain, the biggest branch office located here.
I used to buy there as well - before they started turning on the music LOUD!
Seems like I´ve grown old, the young peeps these days love it that way.
Being a daughter of an also hearing aid acoustician I sure grew up with music rather not so loud (didn´t happen, Dad, I´m way over thirty and still don´t need a hearing aid, thank you).
It really bugs me.
"Sale".
Did they give their stuff for free before this "ad"?
Besides... correctly the ad should be "Verkauf", but German is not cool, huh?
Old fart, me...
"Jetzt: Coffee to go" is also one I "love". Or "Taschen for sale".
I´m so old-fashioned, huh?

It Works For Me
As mentioned here I now note - as in write down - the little things in life that make me happy, that I am thankful for.
So.
There I sat yesterday and thought, awww, boring, what did I do today.
The wasp-sting hurt(s) so badly, it´s so swollen, moving hurts.
All I managed was to throw out some stuff and that was merely it.
But then I took my book.
A bloggy-friend is recovering from a bad loss, I sure was thankful to learn.
Frankly, since we met in real life and I consider her my friend, I was worrying and thinking of her every day, finding it hard to not just make contact. Respect, right? Hard, at times.
We had another summer-day - it makes me plain happy.
In four days, if I skip back in the book, I will have forgotten about the pain of the wasp-sting, having come along with it :-)
Since ### is still signed sick (or whatever), R came over for a longer chat again. Usually the T´s come over as well - it all will stop next week, I´m afraid.
Bro called - it´s summer, nothing much to do at work, plus he really had a work-related question with a manual being in English only - it was work, right? ;-)
Work! I got hectical, even, I love that! With the customer on the phone - we had fun.
And that was before I had the fish-pattie on fresh bread with butter!
So... a seemingly boring day - filled with many nice and thankful moments after all.
I can only recommend doing this.

Surprise!
This is how I was greeted when I came home from work yesterday on that 26C-cloudy day, awww, no?
Despite I did not show a pic of the poppy-car, I´m not that crazy, right? ;-)
But I kinda knew it will turn into a great day. I had to stop the car even before getting leaving the quarter to step out and enjoy and take a pic of this:
This and positive thoughts, right? :-)

Took 43 Years - And I Wait
The wait... well. I still wait for my Gallipoli Poppies to break through - reckon they´re on a good way by now?
Maybe I should show them this cute car... ;-)
The 43 years-thingy?
Yesterday at Schadt´s outside Ingo warned me: careful!
And what did I do?
Right... I panicked.
And the wasp got me. A tad only, luckily, but my, did and does that hurt!
2007 I got stung by a bee for the first time in my life - now the wasp was due and yes, much worse, even if just a wee bit!
Plus, I think, some 12 mosquitos got me, ah, the joy of summer (I don´t complain, but I don´t love this part, either).
On the way back home Ingo needed some filter paper for his coffee at work, I chose to wait outside, it´s a yucky area there.
How yucky?
Consuming of stimulants or alcohol is forbitten the next 5 meters.
Yes.
Elsewhere it´s allowed.
Where - more or less - mindful peeps are around, like in our little park.
Though...
a) not deep enough, b) the paperboard won´t last long, dudes!
Shoot, the wasp-sting still hurts from time to time.
An experience I wouldn´t have needed for another 43 years!

I Could Get Used To It
Ingo came home Friday with yummy fish-burger-patties, he bought all they had!
Yummy!
He also bought this:
And on the bbq they went!
The left fish-holder was a pressie from my Mum btw...
Ingo then had his fish and later cut mine, too:
Please note the red and yellow monks, hugging each other - salt and pepper, from my Mum... oh, do I miss her. Sad btw: Ajahn Brahm´s books aren´t available in English. Not here, not via amazon, only as audio :-(
They offered to search at antiquariats, "second hand bookshops" in expensive.
When I´m back in Perth I´ll try myself...
Tips on where to look for them are welcome!
It tasted ok, I could get used to it. After all it´s healthy, right?
We then played Mau-Mau. Fun.
I could get used to that, too.

That´s Not Me
After we visited the Walking Garden I saw this art automat - funny idea, no?
The price of €4 is a tad much, but you support the students here.
Ok, that´s an excuse - I just had to find out what´s in the surprise-box!
Well, the introvert I am I guess I cannot wear a button saying "Best Girl", plus it´s a button for female heros, I sure am no hero.
I could need an angel, though... Well, who can´t?
