Hmmm... doesn´t this look yummy? And OUTSIDE, it was a warm October´s day!
The journal:
Monday: Two loaded Zippos for me, activated 04:20 a.m. and STILL both so HOT by 08 p.m. - thank you, Ingo, like summer!!!!
7:22 a.m., door bell. Heating-repair guys - yes plural, a "boy", too, a trainee, not the smartest. I heard "I tell you this the 20 000th time!!!"
I wait what the receipt will say. I understand young peeps need to learn - but on my cost?
I gave them €10 as tip anyways. And the condo is warm again.
fK said she had ten bucks in her pocket for "those guys", also, but they were so dumb, she kept them. The money, not the guys 😉
She gave €5 for the street artists, though.
Tuesday: Two loaded Zippos for me, activated 04:20 a.m. (yes I can do copy & paste!) - thank you, Ingo, I hate the dark, cold half of the year.
fK called. Told me, she´ll become my second boss. I wanted to...all I came up with was ".... congratulations!" -
"Glückwunsch is the German word, I mix languages up too if long in them, said 'pardon' for a couple of days after coming back from France..."
We spoke German (but I was translating whilst talking).
How is it with you? Ingo often says, "say it in English then!"... some brains work in funny ways.
She told me not to worry. Job-wise. But I do...
Ingo came home with... another heater-Zippo. We have 5 now.
Feel cold? Visit us.
Wednesday: Work (kinda) fK at teams and then "Castle". Rick Castle´s daughter wants to visit the Brazilian rain forest and he flips. No phones but snakes, spiders.....
My Dad likely said to Ingo when we went o Australia 1995/1999 "take care of her"? Dad let us go.
Spiders (I once nearly touched a Redback (deadly)), snakes (meep, had that, too), no phones... He later told my "little" Brother he was afraid, too - but he let me go. I had a great Dad (who trusted Ingo).
Thursday: Work, chats and TIREDNESS. Laundry, wohoo.
Door-bell. I open. Postie, in English. "Thank goodness! For M...? Can you take that?" - Me: "No*. Please in front of this door". - Him: "Merci".- Me: "De rien..., bye" - Him: "Tschüß 😀"
Meep?
Ingo just saw a docu where people even complained no one speaks German anymore...
We speak many languages, LOL!!! Think I learn proper Spanish or Italian now.
*we
have a small condo. I am not a post office. I WORK from home. I once
was stuck with three bigger parcels over three weeks. THESE neighbors do
not greet me, why do a favor (the man does, wife and daughter do not).
Friday: I always get up an hour early to watch CSI New York before work to start the day (and check blogger-mates).
My Dad and my Brother chose "dumb" names, really.
- "Das war ihres..." (it was hers) - "ihres" sounds like my name pronounced in German, always confusing.
- "Das gehört mir" (it´s mine) - "mir" sounds like my big Nieces name, Mia.
Dads, please, chose names that are pointy.
Does your name get confusing, too? Ingo always has to explain (like Dingo or Bingo without the first letter). Mine in French is pronounced Eriiiiiiis, in English like the eye, in German different again. I got used to it.
fK will take me to the cinema in Wolfenbüttel with our railway-team.
ACK, now I have no excuse ("no discussion!!!"). We talked forever about the bad situation we´re in and try to see the positive.I sat on the wooden floor, jeans inside out (how did THAT happen), loading my work phone with a 30cm "long" cable whilst talking.
Weekend: Saturday: Went to the new company´s place. Odd. The main staff is male it´s easy to remember me. For me it was tough. I kept silently asking fK - who works at least once or twice at the place (7 minutes on foot), "who is this?". And do you think I´ll remember next time??
We went to Guido´s for yummy beer.
Ingo took a smoke outside and the waitress rushed to me!!! To... say... "my shift ends now, good bye, have a great night." 🥰
I am a slow drinker. The waiter, to Ingo: "Another beer?" - Ingo, to me and my not empty glass: "You?". .... "Slowly?" - Our waiter waited (haha) till I was done and we got two more fresh Porettis.
Then the yummiest steak at Block House (yes, I skipped the Pizza!!!!)
Sunday: A very welcomed break! Or...?
Munchy:
Hungry now? You need energy if you go backwards in time.Changing a channel on TV - GET UP!
"Everything used to be different: childhood experiences that no longer exist
Saturday morning cartoons
Waking
up at 8 a.m. on Saturday mornings to watch cartoons is a thing of the
past. Thanks to the availability of recording and streaming devices,
children can watch cartoons any time, any day."
It is sadly true.
Ingo
and I always look forward to Sunday morning: 11:00 a.m. Löwenzahn, followed by Die Maus, a
fairy tale, "normal TV". My Nieces... "on demand" No looking forward,
demanding...
Ack, we are old 😉 And I love it.
Don´t eat mine, Henry!!!! OK, a bite....
