The Bald Salesman

This post is about my hubby.The first week we were out here Ben sold 2 security systems. The following week he sold ten. Every week Platinum has a broadcast where they do a top ten of the previous week. Well Ben made it in the top ten. He came in as number three. They congratulated Ben for improving so much in one week. He received a package the following week with a T-shirt and a piece of paper congratulating him for making the top ten of the week. Ben is doing awesome and stays so positive even when he has a hard day. He is such a great example to me. I need to take some lessons on how to stay so positive.

This week Ben also decided to cut his hair. Usually we have Ben's cousin, Angie, cut our hair (I really miss having her around). Well since we didn't have her around, Ben decided that he was going to cut his own hair. I thought it would be fine and so off I went to work. But when he came home that night I could not believe how SHORT his hair was. I love Ben's hair longer but he is always wanting it shorter...so what did he do...cut it so short that there is hardly any hair on his head!!! I think next time I am going to find someone to cut his hair. But I still love him...even with so little hair on his head!

St. Louis

This is where we are calling home for the next 4 months. I have really enjoyed St. Louis so far. We don't actually live in the city of St. Louis but in a town right outside called St. Charles. We live in a great apartment complex called Sun Lake Apartments. Here are a few pictures of our lovely apartment. This is a picture of our living room. Now don't judge us for the ugliness of the couches...we did NOT pick them out.
Now my favorite thing about the arm chair and couch is that they really don't match but they tried to blend them together by putting the pillows from the armchair with the couch. I guess I can't complain too much...at least we have somewhere to sit. :o)

My favorite thing about the kitchen is that it has lots of counter space (compared to our apartment in Rexburg) and it has a DISHWASHER!!! I love not having to do dishes by hand! I am dreading having to go back to Rexburg in the fall and not having a dishwasher...so I guess I will enjoy it while I can!

This is my laundry room. I have my very own washer and dryer. There is no saving quarters so I can wash the laundry, I can wash the laundry whenever I want to!!! I am being way too spoiled and probably will complain when we go back to Rexburg and start saving quarters and doing wash only when necessary! But I do love my apartment for the summer. It is beginning to feel like home and I am grateful to have such a wonderful place to stay in and not have to pay very much for it! Thankgoodness for blessings!!

This is a picture of my dishtowel. Yes that is the burn marks of the oven!! I was cooking pizza one night and had just finished cooking the chicken. I took the chicken off of the burner and turned it off. I then lifted the dishcloth from the pizza dough and put it on top of the burner...bad mistake! All of a sudden the kitchen was smokey and I look down and see that the smoke was coming from my dishcloth!! So I took it outside to our patio and let it sit out there for the rest of the night. As you can tell from the picture I definitely cannot use this dishcloth again, although Ben did suggest that I could just cut that part out of the dishcloth and keep on using it!

This is a picture of the St. Louis temple. I went there today with a few of the other wives. We have started the "Platinum Wives Club". We get together usually once a day and do something together. Well today was temple day. The St. Louis temple is about 20 minutes away from us. What a great blessing that is. I am just sad that Ben and I will probably never get to go together. The St. Louis temple is a small temple. They don't open until 9 in the morning, which doesn't give Ben and me enough time to go in the morning. But hopefully our Bishop works something out so that we can have a "special" early session for all of us to go to.

For my last bit of exciting news...

We are going to the Rascal Flatts concert in June.!!!! I am so excited because both Ben and I LOVE them and we have been wanting to go to their concert for a while. So Ben decided to take a few hours off of work to take me to go and see my favorite singing group! I am so excited and can hardly wait to FINALLY go to their concert!
Life is great here in St. Louis. Ben is doing excellent at selling and I am so proud of him. My job has got to be one of the greatest jobs ever. I am in the inventory manager and I can go in whenever I want, there are no set hours, and I work with one of the greatest girls ever. So life is definitely good here in St. Louis!

Here's an update

Ben thought I should create a counter of some sort on our blog so we could keep track of how many sells he gets throughout the summer...anyone know how to do that?
But I thought I would give everyone an update on how my little honey-buns is doing!
So far he has sold 12 total. He sold 5 preseason sells. Then last week he sold two. Monday he sold two and they yesterday he sold 3. He is doing excellent for being a first year rep. We are both so excited and thankful that he is doing so well early on.

Growing Pains

These are my wonderful siblings at my wedding.

It is amazing to me how quickly things can change and how quick time goes by. Last night was a very exciting night in the Hudson household. The reason that this post is called growing pains is because my little brother and sister are growing up and sometimes I get a little bit emotional about the whole thing. I still remember them as just being my little sidekicks. They were there to be silly or to play house with me, they did everything with me and now they are growing up and doing their own things. This is my brother Derek. We have a fun kind of relationship. When I was 5 years old he was born on my birthday. I was so excited because I thought Heavenly Father gave me a birthday present...a little brother on my birthday.

Derek has one of the greatest personalities you could ask for...he cares about people and loves to help others. But I think one thing that makes him really unique is that he loves to tease everyone and make them laugh. He loves to tease my little sister Kaylee. I think that when Derek teases it is his way of telling us that he loves us, so he must love his sisters a lot because he never stops teasing them!
Last night Derek opened his mission call. He is going to be serving in the Brazil Ribeirao Preto mission and we are so stinking excited for him. Ben and I are especially excited because we both served in Brazil. It was fun to talk to Derek last night and tell him about all of the great things about Brazil. We couldn't be prouder of Derek and we know he will be an excellent missionary. We sure do you love Derek!This is a picture of my sister Michelle. I am not putting up this picture to embarass her or anything but this picture is one of my favorite pictures of Michelle because it show off her personality. Michelle has always been one to let loose and have fun. She was always willing to play dress-ups with me and try out my new crazy ideas. Michelle has always been right by my side doing whatever I wanted her to do. It has been a lot of fun having Michelle around. She has been one of my best friends for as long as I can remember. We have done practically everything together and I have been so grateful for her friendship throughout my life. I was especially grateful to have Michelle as a friend when I got from my mission. She was so great to be my friend and my roommate when I came back and didn't know anyone. Michelle is the kind of person who is a "true" friend. She is always there for you no matter what. She has a huge heart and loves everyone.
Last night Michelle called me to tell me that she was engaged!!! This was a huge shocker for me because I didn't know that she was that serious about Stephen. I probably didn't sound too excited last night when she told me because I think I went into shock. But I am ecstatic for her and Stephen. They are getting married at the end of the summer (hopefully in September). We love Michelle so much and we are excited for them...it is just hard for me to see my siblings moving on and getting older. In my mind they are those little kids that followed me around and did those crazy things that my imagination came up with.
