Toy Town

We heard from a bunch of people that we needed to take the kids to Toy Town.  I am glad we listened because we had a blast!  Toy Town is just a locally owned toy store and they have a lot of their toys out so you can play with them and try them out before buying them.
The kids were in heaven and had so much fun trying out all of the "new" toys!
Ben also had a little bit of fun!  Maybe too much fun!  He loved getting out all of the different puppets and terrifying the kids with them.  He is such a great dad!!
And there were cars, cars, cars, and trains!!!  Every boys favorite thing!  Benson loved driving all of the cars and trains and didn't make any noise the whole time.  Unless of course Ben came along with one of his terrifying puppets!
Ben and I had just as much fun as the kids!  I found a pogo stick and hopped all over the store with that thing and I secretly wanted to buy one for myself.

We had a hard time getting them to leave.  We stayed for a good hour and a half and even then couldn't get them out the door.  And to be honest, Ben and I didn't want to leave either!

Exploring Twin

Okay I am officially playing catch up.  I find it harder to blog when I know I am super behind and I have a lot to blog about and so I don't because I am so far behind.  So I am lumping lots of posts together in an effort to get caught up.

January was our month of exploring.  We have lived in lots of different towns since Ben and I have been married and it is always a little fun exploring each new town and trying to find things to do.

We live right next to our church.  It is great because we can leave 5 minutes before church starts, we can walk to church, but what I am most excited about is riding bikes in the church parking lot!
For the first 6 years of my life we lived right next door to our church and we would always walk over to the church and ride bikes.  So when I found out that we would be living right next door to a church in Twin Falls, I was super excited!
We also live right next door to a bunch of ball fields and we were originally going to ride our bikes in the ball park parking lot but it was asphalt and SUPER bumpy!  My kids did not like riding on that parking lot so we walked down the street to the church and it was perfect!
Twin Falls doesn't get a whole lot of snow!  It has snowed maybe 3 or 4 times since we have lived here.  Reese has been begging to go out and build a snowman so we decided to go out one day after naps.

I knew we weren't going to be able to build a great snowman because the snow was really old but it was the memory that counted, right?
Our snowman was pretty pathetic and Benson didn't help the matter.  All he wanted to do was cry and cry and cry.  He has been like that since moving here, but that deserves its own post.
Tanner wasn't sure what to think about the snow but at least he was screaming and wailing and crying like Benson.

We went rollerskating one night with our ward.  Reese and Benson were super excited to go roller skating.  We were planning on taking the stroller and pushing Tanner around while we skated with Reese and Benson.

Unfortunately the roller skating rink didn't allow strollers on the rink so we had to take turns.  It was a little bit of a let down, but we still had fun.

I took Reese and Benson out first and after about 30 seconds and Reese falling down every 4 seconds I didn't know how we were going to make it all the way around the rink.  By the time we made it all the way around the rink I was having serious muscle spasms in my arms trying to keep both my children on their feet.
After that Ben and I took turns taking one child out at a time.  It worked much better!

There are TONS of parks in Twin, which we are SUPER excited about!  Macon had literally two parks and they were super pathetic.  So when we saw park, after park, after park, after park here in Twin we are really excited!
We went to a park a few weeks ago and even though it was a little cold that didn't deter our kids from running around and enjoying the fresh air and the new park!
Tanner went down on the slide for the first time and he was a natural!  He knew exactly what to do and how to go down.  I was a little surprised, it was just letting go that he wasn't too sure about.
We love exploring and finding fun new things to do and so far we like all of the fun things we have found to do in this tiny town.

Exhausted

Wow!!!  The month of December has been a rough one on our family and we are EXHAUSTED!!!  Since moving from Georgia my kids haven't been the greatest of sleepers.

When we first got to Utah they were still on Georgia time which is two hours ahead of Utah.  My kids were waking up at 5 a.m. every morning!  Thankfully that only lasted about a week and then they were adjusted, but we were still visiting family, which meant we weren't getting consistent naps, there wasn't a set bed time, and to be honest you never sleep as well in a different bed.  I believe that we sleep best in our own beds.
We tried our hardest to get our kids naps in but it is hard when there are cousins every where to play with.  People are loud and forget about the kids who are napping.  So we were tired!

Hopefully being in our own home now the kids will start sleeping better.  I am crossing my fingers because I am one tired mama!

Friends

As much as I hate moving around so much one of the greatest things about moving so much is we have friends everywhere.

We met up with the Carter's on our way up to Twin Falls in Utah.  It was so great to see them again.  I have missed them a lot.  We met up at Chick-fil-a and had lunch and sat and talked and talked about the past year.
Kennady and Reese were the best of friends when we lived in Texas.  It was fun to see how much Kennady had grown up in the past year.  When the Carter's moved to Texas Kennady was just itty-bitty and now she is a little girl.  It was fun to see our little girls back together again.
After about 2 hours we decided that we probably needed to get on the road.  I wish that our dear friends didn't live so far away or that Idaho and Texas were just a little bit closer.
