Out with the Old and In with the New

When Ben and I got married we furnished our house for 60 dollars.  Yes that is right 60 dollars.  Most things were give to us, thus most of our furniture is mismatched, but VERY comfy.  One day when we aren't moving so much we will spend the money on furniture but for now we will continue using the mismatched furniture until we aren't poor college students.

Say hello to our small t.v. that was given to us from Ben's sister.
Isn't she a beaut?   She has served us well for the past almost three years and would have continued to work for us until she broke (because yes we are that cheap).

Well now I would like to introduce to to this beautiful thing
This is our new 54 inch flat screen t.v. that Ben WON this summer!  How did he win it?  Well every end of the summer Platinum (the company Ben works for) has a competition to win the t.v. that they use during the summer.  This summer Ben sold the most sales in the last 2 and a half weeks and he won this ginormous t.v.

When we found out that we won the t.v. we both had to laugh because we would NEVER buy a t.v. like this for ourselves unless it was given to us or we won it.

The fun part was trying to get it to fit into our little Honda and bring it home from OKC.  Thankfully this past summer I packed super light and Ben is amazing at packing so we had the whole back seat open.  We put this t.v. right behind my seat and packed everything else behind it.  It was a tight squeeze but it made it home with us.

Since then we have thoroughly enjoyed our very large t.v. and would like to thank Platinum for giving us something that we would NEVER buy for ourselves.

Oh Boy, oh boy

Yesterday we found out that our little baby is a boy.

He sure is a handsome little guy and was moving a TON during the ultrasound.  There was no questions whatsoever that this baby is a boy!  I am happy about having a boy but I was kind of hoping for another girl.  I grew up with an older sister and a younger sister close to my age and us three had so much fun together.  I was hoping for a little sister for Reese.  We have lots of little girl clothes, blankets, and many other things.  AND we had a girl name picked out already.
Ben has a boy name picked out that he really wants to use but I do NOT want to use it.  He wants to name our little boy Benjamin Bradley.  Don't get me wrong I think it is a great name but I don't want to deal with the whole thing of having a son and husband with the same name.  People tell us that we could just call him by his middle name but in Ben's family both his dad and brother's names are Brad, so our little boy would have to go by Ben.  I feel bad about telling Ben no on a name that he REALLY wants to use but I just don't want to deal with the hassle of using the same name.  So for now we are trying to come up with names that we both agree on...which is kind of difficult...thankfully we have until February.

Last weekend while watching the pathetic BYU vs. Utah game I made a wreath that I am quite proud of.  It is a Halloween wreath and is already hanging on my door because I think it is so cute!
It was so easy to make and was the only good thing that came out of watching that HORRIBLE game.  I am a BYU fan but watching that game was kind of embarrassing and BYU played terrible, but at least I got a cute wreath out of it!

Well anyways we are all super excited for February to come.
Ben is especially excited and cannot wait to have a little boy to do boy things with.
I am excited to learn how to be a mother of a little boy and have a mama's boy.
And this little girl...
She is just excited to have a little baby to take care of.  She will be a great big sister.  She has been putting diapers on her babies and bears lately and I know she will be a GREAT little helper.
Looking forward to February 6th 2012

From OKC to Idaho

Well I am back from my week and a half vacation and let me tell you it was very much deserved.  I didn't take a whole lot of pictures but that is okay because I enjoyed just lounging around and enjoying time spent with family.

We left OKC on September 1st.  We split our 18 hour drive to Utah into three days and let me tell you that is the way to do it.  By the time we got to the hotel Reese had usually had enough of the car and so for the rest of the night we would just run around everywhere and just enjoy being out of her car seat.  We got to Utah on September 3rd and stayed with my parents that weekend because on Labor Day we were heading to Idaho to move into our new apartment.  My parents were so nice to watch Reese for us while we were gone.

We moved everything into our new apartment on the 5th and 6th and let me tell you I LOVE this apartment.  It is the nicest apartment we have ever lived in while in Rexburg and I am in love!  We worked super hard on that Monday and I was EXHAUSTED that night.  On Tuesday the 6th we headed back down to Utah because on the 7th (Wednesday) my little brother Derek would be returning from serving a 2 year mission for our church in Brazil.

Wednesday morning came and it was a day to wear purple.  We all got a good laugh when we realized that we were ready to take family pictures.  So we claimed my brother Jared for the day and took a very purple picture!

Thankfully Derek's plane was late because we would have missed him otherwise.  I didn't even see him until he was right in front of us saying hi mom!  I was so excited to see my brother, I might have even teared up just a little bit.
Now my dad on the other hand was crying which is something he doesn't do very often, so it was a very tender moment and I am glad my sister Jen caught it.  I think he was very proud of his son and happy that he was home safe.
It was a great day and I am so proud of my little brother.  I am sure that he was a wonderful missionary to the people of Brazil but I can't help but be happy that he is home and we can see him again.
The rest of the week consisted of lounging around, playing games, watching movies, playing horseshoes, going to soccer games, and enjoyed being able to relax for a bit before heading back up to Rexburg.  We took family pictures with both mine and Ben's family and needless to say I was a little tired of smiling by the end.  I felt like it was my wedding day all over again.

And last but not least we got to tell our families some very fun news.
This is actually Reese's ultrasound picture.  I haven't had time to scan the pictures in yet, but yes we are expecting baby #2 around February 12th!!!  We couldn't be more excited!  I am about 18 or 19 weeks along and we find our the gender next week.  We are so excited to be adding another child to our family!

So yes our week and a half vacation was WONDERFUL and no it definitely was not long enough.  But it is always nice to get settled into our apartment and be back home!
