Reese

Friday afternoon Ben and I decided to go for a walk to try and walk the baby out.  We had been walking all week long try to help Reese come sooner.  We walked for about 30 minutes and when we got back home I started getting contractions.  I thought that they would most likely quit after a little bit.  Ben and I decided that we wanted to go out to dinner that night.  Ben wanted Thai food and I wanted Bajios Chicken Green Chili Salad.  So we decided to get both.
Ben went into the Thai place to order his food and while I was sitting out in the car waiting for him I started timing my contractions because they weren't quitting.  It was about 6:30 and my contractions were coming at about every 10 minutes.  No big deal I thought.
After going and getting my food we decided that instead of going home to eat we would go to one of the buildings on campus and eat our food and then go and walk up and down the stairs.  We decided to go the the Hart gym and see if there were any games going on there.  We got to the Hart and there were some basketball games going on so we sat and watched basketball and ate our food.  My contractions continued for the rest of the night and they were getting worse.  After sitting through one and a half basketball games I told Ben I was ready to go home.
We got home about midnight and my contractions were now about 6 minutes apart.  We sat up timing them and at about 2 in the morning we decided to call my midwife.  She said we could go to the hospital whenever my contractions were too much for me to handle.  Well about this time my contractions picked up big time.  I couldn't even stand and I felt like I need to push...Ben stayed very calm and told me not to push and somehow helped me to get dressed and out to the car.  We raced to the hospital and I thought for sure I was dilated to at least an 8 because I felt like pushing.  They checked me at the hospital and they told me I was dilated to a 4...I felt like a pansy!!  I was only at a four and couldn't handle the pain!?!?
They took me to my room and Ben told them that I wanted an epidural.  After about an hour I finally got the epidural and it was the most AMAZING thing in the whole world!  I couldn't feel any more contractions and I was in heaven.
At about 6 a.m. they checked me again and I was dilated to a 7 and the nurse told me that we were definitely going to have the baby today!!!  I was so excited!  After about another hour and a half they checked me again and they told me that I was all the way dilated and that they were going to go and call my midwife.  After about another hour the midwives showed up the real work began.  I pushed for about 45 minutes and after all was said and done Reese was here.
It was such a wonderful feeling to hold her for the first time.  I loved being able to look into her eyes and see her and fall completely in love with her.  What a miracle she is and we are so blessed to have Reese in our home.
Reese was born on Feb. 20th which is her Grandpa Brad's and her uncle Brad's birthday.  We seriously contemplated naming her Bradita but thought she would probably like Reese much better!

The end is in sight...

But it is a LONG ways off.
I had my doctors appointment today and they scheduled my induction for March 1st.
As excited as I am to have my induction scheduled, I sure wish it was closer...like next week!
Everything looks great.  I am 80% effaced and dilated to a 2...which according to the doctor is great progress.
I just wish she would come sooner than March 1st.  I guess she just likes it inside my tummy and would rather stay in there than come out and face the cold Rexburg weather...I guess when you look at it that way, I have to say I don't blame her!
So here is to March 1st...may you come quickly!!

Texas here we come

This summer Ben will be selling in Houston, Texas.  I have mixed feelings about this.
Number one:  when I think of Texas I think of hot, Hot, HOT...I like warm weather but not unbearable hot weather
Number two:  it is a 25 hour drive...I HATE driving long distances...hopefully our two month old baby will enjoy driving long distances more than I do
Number three:  I was talking to a girl in my ward and I told her we had to drive through New Mexico...she had a few horrible things to say about New Mexico.  She pretty much told me that we should NOT stop there for anything!!!  It made me laugh a lot!
Number four:  it is not that fun to live such a long ways away from our family...especially when they go on all kinds of fun family vacations.
But I am excited to live somewhere new.  I am excited to meet some true Texans...supposedly Texas has some very friendly people, I am excited about making some new friends, and I am excited about all of the fun things that we are going to do...including going to THE BEACH!!
BUT I am nervous about traveling such a long distance with a baby...hopefully she will be a perfect angel and won't make a peep the whole 25 hour drive!!  That would be ideal!

38 Weeks

I had my doctors appointment today and I was very disappointed.
My pregnancy has been a very easy one, but these last few weeks have been getting really difficult and I am REALLY ready to have this baby out of me.  Not only am I ready to not be pregnant anymore but we are ecstatic to finally have this sweet little baby here and have her become part of our family.
Well today they checked me to see if I was dilated...that was a BIG FAT negative and they also told me she needs to drop down still!  I was a little disappointed and then the doctor told us not to plan on having the baby this week...at that point I was VERY disappointed.
So I will continue on being pregnant for at least another week...the doctor said that this baby was teaching me patience.  So I guess I will learn patience while waiting for this baby!!  Wish me Luck!

Peking Acrobats

Last night Ben and I had our date night.  Here at BYU-Idaho they have some really cool events that go on.  About a month ago Ben told me about an even that was coming in February and I told him that maybe he shouldn't buy tickets because I could be having our baby that weekend...well he went ahead and bought the tickets anyway.  I am sure glad the baby didn't come because last night we went to the Peking Acrobats show and it was AMAZING!!! I won't even try to describe the awesomeness because I couldn't even begin to describe what went on at this show, so here are some picture from Google.

We really enjoyed this event and were so glad that it was ONLY 8 bucks a ticket.  They probably preform around the world for a lot more money...thank goodness for cheap events at BYU-Idaho!
