Kuld Reinforcements

Hi!

I've finished some more Kuld miniatures that I sculpted back during the lockdown:

 Kuld Horde

While most of the reinforcements are basic Kuld to bulk up the numbers a bit, I have also given my horde a long ranged option in the form of a Shuda, a Kuld who can vomit whatever it's eaten a surprising distance.

Although the little guys are a bit blobby, they really have been fun to work on over the course of the last few months. I really need to make another 10-20 to give a full horde and add a troll or two to give them some heavy support...

We also went for a bit of a drive today and visited a 5000 year old tree which was rather nice!

Seeing a living thing that's so ancient was rather inspiring and it got me to thinking of a bit of a historical/fantasy mashup that I've pondered on and off over the last few months.

I'll post up some gubbins in the next few days so watch this space.

In the meantime, All the best!

Lockdown day 53

Hi!

It's been quite a productive day here with odds and ends finished off and I even managed to try out a test game of Battletech Alphastrike!

I'll post more on my super cheap attempt at Battletech tomorrow but for this evening here's some painted gubbins!

First off, another Kuld:

 Blech the Kuld

He's another of my sculpts and I quite like the little chap who seems to be rather friendly for a small eating machine!

Next up, Here's the first of the World of Twilight figures I picked up recently, a Grishak:

Annoyingly, I managed to get a gloss sheen on it in every photo I've taken but it's not visible on the miniature when you look directly at it.

It's a really characterful sculpt but I had a bit of a wobble painting him as I'd originally intended to paint it green and even got to the stage of base coating and shading the thing before repriming it and going for a more neutral colour with just the touch of colour in his crest.

Despite the hoo hah of getting the finish I wanted, I really like the figure as his scaly skin takes paint really well and the figure itself has lots of character. Hopefully I'll have a second one finished at some point next week so watch this space!

In the meantime, All the best!

Lockdown Day 50

Hi!

Here's the progress I've made on my Blue Tribe robots and a few more odds and ends that I have been working on:

Powder Monkey and Mate

The Blues have proved to be a wee bit of a challenge to sculpt as trying to figure out how to make decent hats and Greenstuff hasn't cut the mustard for the task so I've been experimenting with different methods. The Powder Monkey, A long ranged robot has a hat made from thin plasticard whilst my Mate has a sculpey hat. Both seem to work in their own way so I think they'll do for the time being. There's still a bit of work to be done on both but I'm liking the process of working on the little chaps.

Next up, here's some Buccaneers, the basic robots for the Blue tribe:

Buccaneers

I've just got their cutlasses to do and they'll be done and dusted!

I've also rummaged out my original First Mate, Mister Gibbs:

Mister Gibbs

He originally had massive punchy fists but looking at him now, I think I'll remake them as they just looked wrong so I'll be reworking him when I get chance.

I also re-discovered my old Red Tribe sculpts and have been tweaking them and will be adding them to my Red Tribe expedition as a new class of robots as they're somewhat bigger than the current Scrapbots:

Red Tribe

I still need to finish their legs and then get them based up and I'll have even more stuff to paint!

Finally, here's the next of my Kuld for World of Ashes:

Kuld

I've got a Shuda, a short ranged fighter who can spew powerful acid considerable distances and then another four basic Kuld, including a little chap who may well be a juvenile!

I need to get the little chaps painted but I seem to be really enjoying sculpting at the moment so I think I shall just keep cracking on with it and painting when I get the chance. I'm now eying up the Yellow Tribe but will need to get some more Sculpey as I'm running low!

I've also been doodling my own version of the Battletech Mechs and will see if I can get a few built over the next few days.

With it looking like I'm not going to be back to work 'till early June, I'm keen to keep myself busy and if it means I have dozens of sculpts done, all the better!

Hopefully I'll have more gubbins painted and ready tomorrow so watch this space and All the best!

Lockdown Day 41

Hi!

Here's the latest additions to my War of Ashes project:

Kuld!

I now have four normal Kuld and a Goola, the central figure in the picture who will be my warbands temporary leader until I get a few more figures sculpted up.

Game wise, the Kuld are a horde force who overwhelm foes by sheer weight of numbers and pummel them before consuming anything they find. I need to finish sculpts of another four of the little guys which will give me the basis of a decent little warband.

I'm also working on a Shuda, a corpulent Kuld who has the ability to vomit surprising distances which will give me some ranged firepower.

I'm really enjoying sculpting the little guys and at the rate I am going at, I'll have a decent sized warband within the next couple of weeks!

Hopefully tomorrow will see more painted Kuld and Rusty Robots so watch this space.

In the meantime, All the best!

Lockdown Day 39

Hi!

Just a quick update this evening as I've spent most of the day sculpting so not many painted miniatures to be seen but here's the latest additions to my assorted projects:

First up, here's another of my Red Tribe robots:

Scrapbot U-23

I've only got one more to paint of these little chaps before I move onto the Black Tribe which I've got almost ready for a lick of paint!

Next up, here's the first test piece for my Kuld warband for War of Ashes:

Kuld

He's a tiny little chap but was lots of fun to sculpt and paint and I've now got another stack of them finished so I'll be adding a full warband of tiny voracious eating machines to my collection soon!

I'm also going to be putting together a bit of a review of my World of Twilight purchase so watch this space.

All the best!
