PATTERN

The Sevilla Blouse has a boat neck and is worked from the top down. First, the back yoke is
worked flat, back and forth. Then the front yoke is worked and shaped by working short
rows. The front and back yokeare then joined to form the body, which is worked in the
round on a circular needle. The sleeves are worked in the round on a circular needle from
stitches that are picked up and knitted along the armholes. Thestockinette stitch neck edge
is worked from stitches that are picked up and knitted along the neck opening.
Size guide
The Sevilla Blouse is designed to have approx. 8 cm of positive ease, meaning it is designed
tobe approx. 8 cm larger in circumference than your bust measurement. The sizes XXS (XS) S
(M)L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) are designed to fit a bust circumference of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90
(90-95) 95-100(100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm . The measurements for the
finished blouse can befound on the front page of the pattern. Measure yourself before
beginning your project, to determine whichsize will fit you the best. For example, if you
measure 90 cm around your bust (or around the widest part of your upper body) you should
knit a size S. A size S blouse has a bust circumference of 98 cm which in the given example
would give you 8 cm [3 inches] of positive ease.
Back yoke
The back yoke is worked flat, back and forth in stockinette stitch.Cast on 80 (84) 88 (92) 98
(106) 116 (124) 134 (142) sts on a 5 mm [US8] / 80 cm [32 inches] circular needlewith your
preferred method. The first row is a WS row. Purl across 1 row. The next row is a RS row.
Work in stockinette stitch as follows:
Row 1 (RS): Knit across.
Row 2 (WS): Purl across.
Work Rows 1 and 2 until the work measures 16 (17) 17.5 (18) 18.5 (19.5) 20.5 (21) 22 (23)
cm. The next row is a RS row. Break the yarn and let the sts rest while the shoulders are
being worked.
Front yoke
The front yoke is worked with short rows to shape the neckline. First sts are picked up and
knitted alongthe right shoulder, then, in extension of these sts, sts are cast on for the center
front using the backwardloop method, and then sts are picked up and knitted along the
left shoulder.

Work as follows: RS facing, pick up and knit 16 (18) 20 (21) 24 (28) 32 (36) 41 (45) sts along
the 16 (18) 20 (21) 24 (28) 32 (36)41 (45) sts furthest to the right on the back yoke cast-on
edge using a 5 mm [US8] / 60 cm [24 inches]circular needle, in extension of these sts cast on
48 (48) 48 (50) 50 (50) 52 (52) 52 (52) new sts using the backward loop method, and in
extension of these new sts pick up and knit 16 (18) 20 (21) 24 (28) 32 (36) 41(45) sts along
the 16 (18) 20 (21) 24 (28) 32 (36) 41 (45) sts furthest to the left on the back yoke cast-on
edge. Now work in stockinette stitch flat, back and forth, across these sts with short rows to
shape the neckline.Use the technique named
German Short Rows
when working short rows, meaning when the pattern says“turn” (see video
at www.petiteknit.com). The first row is a WS row, worked across the left shoulder.
Work as follows:
Row 1 (WS): Purl 20 (22) 24 (25) 28 (32) 36 (40) 45 (49) sts, turn.
Row 2 (RS): Knit to end.
Row 3 (WS): Purl to 5 sts after the last turn, turn.
Row 4 (RS): Knit to end.
Row 5 (WS): Purl to 6 sts after the last turn, turn.
Row 6 (RS): Knit to end.Break the yarn. Re-join the yarn from the RS at the right shoulder.
Work short rows as follows:
Row 1 (RS): Knit 20 (22) 24 (25) 28 (32) 36 (40) 45 (49) sts, turn.
Row 2 (WS): Purl to end.
Row 3 (RS): Knit to 5 sts after the last turn, turn.
Row 4 (WS): Purl to end.
Row 5 (RS): Knit to 6 sts after the last turn, turn.
Row 6 (WS): Purl to end.
The next row is a RS row.Now work back and forth across all sts in stockinette stitch
as follows:
Row 1 (RS): Knit across.
Row 2 (WS): Purl across.
Work Rows 1 and 2 until the front yoke measures 16 (17) 17.5 (18) 18.5 (19.5) 20.5 (21) 22
(23) cm from where sts were picked up and knitted along the back yoke. The next row is a
RS row. Do not break the yarn, as the next step follows from here.

Body
The body is worked in the round on a 5 mm [US8] / 80 or 100 cm [32 or 40 inches] circular
needle. The body is formed by joining the front and back yoke. Work as follows:
Round 1: Knit across front yoke, knit across back yoke. There are now a total of 160 (168)
176 (184) 196(212) 232 (248) 268 (284) sts on the needle. Join in the round and place
a marker for the beginning of the round (at the right underarm). Work straight in the round
in stockinette stitch until the blouse measures 49 (50) 52 (53) 54 (55) 59 (63) 65(67) cm
measured mid back (from the cast-on edge at the back of the neck) – or to the desired
length, try it on along the way. Change to a 4.5 mm [US6] / 80 cm [32 inches] circular needle
.Work 3 rounds in 1 x 1 rib (k1, p1). Finish by working 2 rounds of double knitting before
binding off using the Italian bind-off technique asfollows (see video at www.petiteknit.com)
:Round 1: *K1, slip1 stitchpurl-wise withthe yarnheld infront ofthe work*, repeatfrom *to *
to endof round. Round 2: * Slip 1 stitch purl-wise with the yarn held behind the work, p1
*, repeat from * to * to end of round.Bind off using the Italian bind-off technique
(see video at www.petiteknit.com).
Sleeves
The sleeves are worked in the round on a 5 mm [US8] / 40 cm [16 inches] circular needle, or
on 5 mm [US8]double-pointed needles, or on a longer 5 mm [US8] circular needle using the
Magic Loop technique.RS facing, pick up and knit 60 (62) 64 (66) 68 (70) 74 (76) 80 (82) sts
along the armhole edge using a 5 mm[US8] / 40 cm [16 inches] circular needle. Begin and
end at the underarm. Pick up and knit approx. 2 sts forevery 3 rows all the way around.Join
in the round and place a marker for the beginning of the round (at the underarm).Work in
the round in stockinette stitch until the sleeve measures 44 cm while at the sametime
working decreases every 38th (28th) 28th (22nd) 19th (19th) 14th (12th) 11th (11th) round
a total of 2(3) 3 (4) 5 (5) 7 (8) 9 (9) times, by working a decrease round as follows: K1, k2tog,

(60) 62(64) sts on the needle.Change to 4.5 mm [US6] double-pointed needles.Work 3
rounds in 1 x 1 rib (k1, p1).

Finish by working 2 rounds of double knitting before binding off using the Italian bind-off
technique the sameway as for the body hem.Work the other sleeve identically.
