The House Next Door

Most of you will remember this house next door from a prior post because of the ORANGE door. The House has been on the market since 2020.
March 2020, renters stopped paying rent because the govt said they could.
Sold as Bank Foreclosure March 2021 for 132,100
Renters refused to move, for 4 months, then rented it to homeless people and moved out.
The new owner finally got them evicted a year later and in March 2021
started renovating to flip it.
On Market for 336,000 and on 2nd day gets full offer.
Off market for months and the deal fell through
March 2022 it sells for 415.00 to another investor remodeling company and has sat empty for 1 year 8 months since the foreclosure and is still empty.
New Roof, new AC, new appliances, new water heater.

The SAGA continued when
Two weeks ago, workers started again and have been there since.
All day every day for 2 weeks all day.

Good news is they painted the orange door a deep burgundy, and it looks much better.

yesterday I checked the public records to see what is going on.

Sold AGAIN! $402,000, less than the last time
Seems they deducted the cost of the AC and the Roof from the last sale price.
HERE IS THE KICKER
Now it is listed as a RENTAL Property and owned by a Rental/Leasing LLC
listed as a SECRET LLC out of Arizona and now listed with a local rental company.

Available for lease on Nov 28th for
$2700.00 per month, for $17.00 per month it is a Smart Home, dogs/cats allowed for more dollars per month.
LET THE FRETTING BEGIN!
It is already swirling in my brain who/what/when/how many.
The rental across the street is ONLY 1800 a month and has SIX adults and 6 cars living there

Can you guess how many scenarios I can come up with?

Home is where you plant it Part 3

Continued from Part 2 prior post.

I left you in part 2, with the words Bob can't hear the Bams and Booms, so no Big Deal for him, except it will when they sell the home and who knows whom will move in.

the good news is the noise stopped after day 3, it has now been 15 days and even though they have not missed a single day, 3 men working 8 to 5, it has been gloriously quiet.

The outside is complete, and we like the light gray with glossy white trim but could live without the orange door.

History of our 33 years next to this house in as few words as I can. this history is why we planted the wall of privacy.
1 year after we moved here the man next door died. we did not even know he was there
A Man and late teens son moved in. quiet but bob and the man had WORDS, so it was really quiet.

The next day we started planting anything we could, and bob built a privacy fence
we lived 12 years with two men glaring at each other.
2012 the man married, moved out of town.
He owed more than he could sell the house for and turned it into a rental.
The year of Covid, our Govt saw fit to tell people they did not have to pay rent, so even the ones who had the money just stopped and spent it on other things.
the renters stopped paying the rent
The house was foreclosed on
The new owner bought it on the courthouse steps 130,000
Let the fun begin.
the house the owner lived in was ready to flip and flip it did, but he could not move out because of nowhere to go, he rents the house back from the new owners
and it takes
One year to evict the no paying squatters and we think he lost so much money waiting that he decided to simply put

“Lipstick on a pig”
and dump it..

Painted inside and out and new appliances and call it done. At risk of being arrested, early Saturday am, I went to the back of the house and PEERED through windows and OH MY.
Its all dressed up and lets see if there is anywhere for it to go.
the roof is 19 years old
Not Good...  we shall see what we shall see.

Home is where you plant it Part 2

Continued from Prior Post.... above is the view of the house next door. From both bedroom windows and both bathroom windows, it is only a Spit Away from our window.  Maybe 20 feet.  Last week, sitting this computer, I heard  BEEP!  BEEP BEEP BEEP and the loud sound of a Diesel Engine.

Leaping to my feet and peering out the window I saw this

No, I did not take the photo, its off the internet. They dropped the Construction Dumpster and I raced outside to tell Bob they were putting it in the driveway.

He says So What?

I rant and rave, I told you they sold the house a year ago and the people who have been squatting in it since 2020 would not move out and that one day they would evict them and last week the people disappeared, and I said now they will start the work on flipping that house and we will here construction noise for MONTHS and MONTHS.....  yes, I do talk without punctuation when over excited.

This is the sold house and the one you see next to it shows how close the houses are.
Our windows are open, Yowsa!

Beau and The MadSnapper are now on constant Alert! waiting for the loud Bams and Booms and Whams. Bob can't hear them, so no big deal to him except...

Home is where you plant it! part 1

I found the above sign hanging in Walmart with the Easter Bunnies. Planted a few herbs with it.

I had plans for this post and the sign was perfect.  Bob and I bought this house in Oct of 1989. The back yard had Trees and more trees but no plants at all. Every week end we went to the flea market and madly brought flowering bushes.

We had NO idea what we were planting. The object was no grass to cut, a pool and total privacy.!

We did that for sure.  There are 100 posts in my label Backyard Jungle but that is only a small portion of what I have posted. I tend to forget labels. For years it was a private paradise.

The top 3 is what our yard looked like back in 2013 Before Drought Killed it all back and the bottom 2 are what it looks like now after 5 years of drought. We are still desperate for rain. Also the master gardener was 33 years younger and so was I...

once again, we can see the fence and on one side the one that is chain link, We Can Be Seen.

They Came Back

April 13th 2019
In three PRIOR POSTS I told about the construction site our yard became for 3 days. They left, and this week they came back.
I heard LOUD noise, rushed to the living room and there sat the MACHINE... first it dug, then I backed up and turned around and used the front to push dirt around, then I backed up and then it turned around.... have you got this?   5 times they did this.

They left. Went to the next house and the next and the next. GONE! for 3 days. I hear Louder Noises. it is the cutest itty bitty front loader with Tank Tracks. clump clump clump, all day long. bring loads of Grass Sod and planting it in the big squares they made a week before. The thing is we are in a drought, all the grass in all the yards is half dead, the new sod will never make it, But they Put it there.

Came home today and our Road is Closed as in Barricaded and NO traffic. but they did let me drive in the driveway..... who knows what's next.  sorry I missed the adorable front loader.

The Sod carrier looked a lot like this photo I found on the internet, all black in color and just sooo cute. And the sound of those treads on the paved road. NOT CUTE.

Construction part 3

They left us with this the same day. the one at the top is on our left, the one below is to the right.

We are the recipients of two on our property and 3 others on our neighbors. Our whole street has 7, five of which are with in site of our house.

The story here is this.... The 2 young men, using that backhoe to dig, said that staghorn is a beauty. I said it weighs about 150 pounds and we could not get it back in the tree, it has been on the ground for 2 years. He said, go get the chains and we will lift it up for you with the backhoe.

Alas! we had no rope or chains... I have been so pleased with how these workers treat us, I went to the web site and sent them a note of thanks.

Do you want to see what is in that hole???? I happened to have a photo of it.!!!! we are in a drought, but what oh what will happen IF IT RAINS?
IT"S NOT OVER yet! we have another year... I will never get bored...
I am off to my TOPS meeting and had no problem getting out of he driveway. More as it happens.

Construction Part 2

Thursday at 8 AM, this is what I saw out my living room window. I backed out and managed to go towards my Tops meeting with a minimum of trouble.

I came home to this, sitting in the drive way, I stopped and turned on my signal, the one on the ground, waved at the driver and he stopped digging while I squeezed in the driveway.
I stood watching and of course Snapping from the comfort of my living room and thinking OH MY WORD! Bob is coming home in about 10 minutes, and how will he get in with his truck, because as I watched he turned the backhoe so that it blocked the whole drive way.

I heard the garage door go up, which meant The Man Of The House was home and wanting in his driveway.  They backed that contraption out into the road and waited patiently for him to get in the garage, and brought it back in. I knew I was in for a treat and sure enough, The Lord of The Manor came in saying THEY better not brake that driveway, yada yada, lots of money, blah blah, and I said they will fix it if they break it, and the PHUN continued.   To Be Continued
PS... yes, we had to walk Big Boy through all of this and it went well... Just out past it and he paid it no mind at all. He wanted the workers to pet him, but they all looked at the Big Black Dog and did not try to...

Construction Part 1

For the last year, we have driven through detours, and around flag persons.. Our Direct route to the YMCA and Walmart, has been a challenge. We pondered each time what was taking so long, and what they were doing.  We found out the day they put a giant 6 ft X 6 ft sign a few houses down from our house.

Construction will continue to be in our life for Another 390 days, or so the sign says. The city is replacing ALL the sewer lines in our subdivision... The sign went up on January 1, which explained why our taxes went up 100.00. The cost of the project 1.9 Million Dollars.

We watched for a few weeks as first one road and then another closed, more signs went up, we had more detours, nothing on our street, but the ones around us. They planted 5 different colored flags, 3 colors of PVC pipes in and on our property. our turn came on Feb 6, see photos below.

These guys are so NICE, it is a total shock that every single worker, including flag people are very pleasant to us. Whem I needed to back out, they moved the hose, when Bob came home, they moved it for him.  They JUMPED right to it immediately.
