Remembering Jake - 2005-2018

Jake 2005-2018
This is my goodbye post to our Dear Sweet Jake. His last few days were full of pain and now he has no more pain, but we are left behind with a hole in our heart that is brimming with the pain of losing our sweet Heart Dog.  These photos remind of all all the almost 13 years of joy we received from Jake.  The page above tells the story of how we got him, under the tab of Jake's Story, We got him from the street, starving and sick with Parvo and he dove straight into hour heart and stayed there and always will.
Taking a few days off from blogging, Thank you for all your prayers and love

angel Baby and angel Jake, together again now

Mommy has a little lamb

Above is my Jumping Jake Photo from 2007. Jake has been the most active dog we ever had. Full of energy and always ready to play until he drops....Chase a ball until we could throw no longer.

He gave new meaning to the word Hyper!

Since he can no longer chase his ball, we let him carry it, while he follows me around and around the pool deck.
I walk, he follows. I stroll because it is to hot to move faster, I sing Mama has a little lamb, little lamb, his face is white as snow, he follows mama every where she goes.

I stopped walking and took photos of him strolling with the ball in his mouth. the 4th bloc is a bucket upside down the next to last white cotton at the bottom is Daddy's head, Bob was in the pool watching us.
His sight is so bad, we can't leave him in the yard alone, because he can't swim if he falls in the pool,

Daddy walks him on a leash around the neighborhood, and Mommy walks him round and round the pool,
Our heart is so full of love as we watch our beloved Jake aging more each day.. he will be 14 in January.

Jakes meds are doing great and working well, most of the time. He still has moments of pacing/panting but then I give him a calming treat... it works in about 20 minutes to half hour. some days are good some are not. for all Three of us seniors. When he paces for 3 hours at a time, my heart breaks and we wait.

for all the years of our marriage we have had dogs that bark and let us know if someone strange is here. Now his hearing is gone and he can't hear the knock on the door or see them walk in front of the window.  I don't sleep as well as I used to because I am the only person in the house that can HEAR..

Question: Do you have a pet? or pets? Do you have angel pets in heaven?

We had Max, alone, Baby and Cooper together for 3 years, then 3 and 2 and now 1 sweet boy.

We have 3 in heaven from our 33 years together.

Designer Diner for Dinner

Thank you Matilda, the new pup in town at The Legacy Chronicles, for giving me the idea of buying Jake's New Designer Diner. I noticed his back end was sliding out from under him as he ate from the bowl he has eaten out of for 13.6 years.
Matilda is full blown Boxer, Jake is Boxer Mix.
Amazon Of course, Of course

And thank you Madi's MOM for suggesting Calming Treats, they are all natural and they really work. When he is panting/pacing one treat, and he stops within half an hour.
We are babying our baby through his elder years.. and appreciate everybody's comments and prayers and suggestions.
I would not be as happy without all my blogger friends for support and friendship, comfort and for caring.

Say it again, Sam Saturday with MadSnapper # 2

The second post of this blog, created on May 25, 2009,

Baby is the one with her tongue out, Jake is the jumping, active one. Baby is a hound dog and Jake is a boxer mix. Baby sleeps all day, Jake plays all day and they love to play with each other trying to take the stick. Both of them are rescue dogs that were badly abused when we got them. The horrible picture is Jake when we got him out of the street on May 5th 2005, and see what love does? Baby is 8 and Jake is 4.

Blog Barrel Bottom AKA Archives

I have decided to use Archive photos once in a while which is part of my I am at the blog bottom barrel for material... there stories and photos are in the tabs above by name. Baby and Cooper

In Memory of Cooper and Baby Girl... photos taken August 2002.. with my 69.00 Kodak Easy Share, my first camera. I am archive diving in my old CD's that I used before flash drive and external drives.
When we adopted our badly abused Baby Girl with the beautiful eyes, every time we opened the front door she leaped out and ran circles in the street.
I called Beth of Telesis Rescue and she said, get her another dog.
Cooper was 7 and was losing fur from stress in the SPCA. He was brought in a year before with is sister and some idiot decided to adopt one without the other.
From the day we rescued Cooper at 7 ears old, Baby 10 months old they were inseparable and rarely slept not touching each other. Adopting a senior dog is the way to go.

In 2005.. and then their were THREE, we added Jake and now Jake is alone, but he still has US.

Kerplunk! Kerplunk!

Jake
It was raining when we went to bed......lights out....settled 3 pillows the way they have to be...

KERPLUNK! KERPLUNK! OH nooooooo... what has Bob left under the drip-line This Time???
(last time it was an upside down bucket under the drip-line)

I sigh LOUDLY and step out of bed to wander out in the rain to move whatever will keep me awake...

HAPPY DANCE! it is not outside it is inside.... it is the .... FLY SWAT! hanging on the wall and the newly clean fan is making it KERPLUNK! Kerplunk on the wall where I hung it AFTER I killed the red fluffy ball that skittered across the bathoom floor making me think it was a bug..

Think Cataracts.. think not one but 4 red dog blankets that shed red fluff balls..THINK Crazy MadSnapper....
Bob the man who falls instantly asleep after removing hearing aids, knew none of the above, while I settle PILLOWS he does the ZZZZZZZZZZZZ.....

A Tale of Four Dogs..

Max was our first dog that owned us.. He moved with us to this house in 1989 from the one where he was born in St Pete FL... Baby was 2nd, Cooper 3rd and Jake 4th.  Jake is our only living pup now and I am sharing a few things I remember from 30 plus years of our beloved pups.

Our sliding glass door, opens on both sides, but we use only the one on the left. A few years back, the roller ball quit rolling and we had to open the other side. At the time Baby, Jake and Cooper, none of them would go in the back yard through the other open door. we tried treats, going out first, they refused. Bob had to go to the store and buy a roller and repair the door.

Baby was the bad girl... she ate my drivers license and numerous magazines and books. She ONLY ate Bob's Books and she only ate them when she was angry. As in when she would not stop barking in the back yard and he put her in the house... she would drag the rug from the door to living room, as if to say Take That... she ate a 125.00 check, she pulled CDs from their case. But only when she was upset.
