Boat Regatta

It seems like a boat regatta every weedend
since they filled the river. Some of the boats
are really nice. The boat that is taking off
is the sheriff boat. There is a boat coming
that is going way to fast. Nuts like this is
what leads to accidents.
Here and there goes the boat. We wondered
if the Sheriff every caught up to it. The boat
to the left looks like it's just sitting there taking
it all in. Actually I didn't know that was the
Sheriff's boat until he took off after it and
turned the lights and siren on. I was out there
just at the right time with my camera.
&&&&&&&&&
If you bigify the first picture there is a boat
up in the upper left hand corner of the pic,
in the path of the speeding boat. There was
no accident so I think it's behind the wake of
the speeding boat.

The face of the Deep

In the beginning God created the heavens
and the earth. The earth was without form,
and void, and darkness was on the face of the
deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering
over the face of the waters.
NKJV Genesis 1: 1 & 2
I was thinking this as the plane flew over
Lake Michigan. On the second day
of creation God parted the waters and
made the firmament and called it heaven.
I was entranced by the dark blueness of
the sky.

Nap Time

Mom came and laid beside me and
watched me sleep. She does that
sometimes. But then she had to get
that flashy thing out and take my
picture and woke me up. She said
she was sorry but the one without the
flash did not turn out for some reason.
Oh yes, Mom broke down and had to buy
a new vacuum cleaner a few weeks ago.
Her and Dad did everything they could
to get the wind back into the wind tunnel
but it was futile. So now instead of a
wind tunnel we have got progressive.
Mom went by consumer reports and
got a Kenmore that was listed. A
Progressive Whisper Belt. Ha, that
thing definitely does not whisper. Although
it may be one decible below the wind tunnel.

Whisker Wednesday

Mom had a great picture but Cleo moved
so her whiskers aren't as predominant like
they were the moment before this was taken
Mom used this picture anyway.
UPDATE
Daughter bean saw the chemo
doctor yesterday. He said the tumor
has shrunk a good deal. Daughter bean
will have a sonogram done next Tuesday
by the surgeon then the guess will
be, set a date for surgery. Daughter
bean broke down on Father's day and
cried. She said she couldn't handle
the pain, headaches especially. She
did that only in front of Mom. Both
had a little cry together. Yesterday
Daughter bean said the headaches
has subsided.
&&&&
Dad is doing
just fine. Mom says he is
ornery as ever. Oh how Mom
is thankful for all the prayers.
And oh yes, Mom finished painting
the last five boards on the porch this
morning. Only thing is she got a little
more paint on my pad. Guess I'll just
have to live with it. Also Mom asked
me to say that the picture on the
Saturday scripture post is of the
California Sierras taken from the
airplane window on the way to
Michigan.

Forgiveness and Redemption

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord;
O Lord, hear by voice. Let your ears be
attentive to my cry for mercy. If you O Lord,
kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness, therefore
your are feared. I wait for the Lord, my soul
waits, and in his word I put my hope. My soul
waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for
the morning, more than watchmen wait for the
morning. O Israel, put your hope in the Lord,
for with the Lord is unfailing love and with
him is full redemption.
NIV Psalms 130: 1-7

Painting the Deck

Mom has been painting the deck and it is
very tedious work getting into the cracks.
She says her body just doesn't bend like it
used to anymore so it takes longer than
she would like it to.
And on top of it, she is using my pad to sit on!!! Yep, she got paint on it.
Ann at Zoolatry made our beautiful header
picture. We just love it. Thank You Ann

Before and After

Remember the headline on the paper? It's posted
somewhere below this one?? Well this is the result of
closing the diversion dam. This is before
And this is after. Guess Mom should
have taken this picture the same time
as the other.
Right behind our mobile home, this is before And this is after Sure wish Mom could have gone down and got all these fev-vers. Mom was in her bedroom Saturday and she heard this huge commotion going on outside. She went out to see what was going on and all the geese were having a knock down, drag out fight. I mean they were really at it. Mom thought one of them was going to get hurt. Anyhow all of a sudden they all calmed down and started ducking in the water and cleaning themselves. Crazy!! This was the battlefield.

Glory of Glories

Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,
Let not the mighty man glory in his might,
Nor let the rich man glory in his riches,
But let him who glories glory in this,
That he understands and knows Me,
That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindess,
judgment, and righteousness in the earth.
For in these I delight, says the Lord.

In Charge

Mom put me in charge of the house
today while she was running back and
forth to the hospital. Dad has been complaining
of puressure on his chest so when Mom took
daughter bean for her chemo Monday she made an
appointment for Dad with his cardio doctor. He's
in the same building with daughter bean's doctor.
He went to his appointment yesterday
and they put him in the hospital. Right now
he is doing O.K. and is in good spirits. Mom
says it's because of the cute nurses there. He
had a stress test this morning and has to have
another one tomorrow. Hopefully they will make up
their mind what they are going to do
with him. Oh yes Mom has to
get another vacuum. She plugged it in and
it just wouldn't come on. Dead motor. Mom keeps
saying when it rains, it pours. And it did just that
a little while ago, with thunder and lightning too.
Oops, Mom said that is not what she meant. Well,
what else could it mean???
UPDATE
Dad came home from the hospital this
afternoon and is doing well. He had
a stress test yesterday and a long sonogram of
his heart and legs today. The doctor said he
wants him to try to wear a certain
kind of leg pants to push blood into
his lower heart, but he has to do the
pant thing at the doctor's office. Sounds
weird to me, but guess the doctor
knows what he is doing??? Mom
says, sometimes she wonders about
the doctors of today. Anyway Dad
is O.K. and that is the main thing.

Wind Tunnel Blows Out

Sunday Mom needed to vacuum the
house as we have been leaving a lot
of our fuzz around. About two weeks
worth. She vacuumed before she left.
Well, anyhow she started in
the living room and this big black
wind tunnel blew out. She couldn't
figure out why it was throwing the fuzz
and dirt back at her, and also it decided
to quit running. Anyhow
she started checking out consumer
reports on new vacuums. She went
to Sears and checked on them. Anyhow
the next day she decided she was going
to turn it on, and it started up so
she looked inside and the guy who fixed
it left one of the filters out of it. She went
back and got it. Thank goodness they had
it. Well after getting the house vacuumed it
started acting up again, but she thanked the
big guy in the sky that she got the house
vacuumed. She is keeping new vacuums
in the back of her mind. Only thing is
we are still depositing our fuzz all
around.
Daughter Bean
The prayers are still working for
Daughter bean. Her white cell
count is up. The chemo nurse told
her that her body is responding to
treatment very well. Her last chemo
was yesterday. She has a doctor's
appointment for next Friday so
we probably will find out what the
next step will be. Again, thank you
all again so much for your purrs and
prayers.

Refuge and Fortress

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will
say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust." Surely He will save
you from the fowler's snare, and from the
deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His
feathers and under His wings you will find
refuge, His faithfulness will be your shield
and rampart.
NIV Psalms 91 1-4

Yippeeee Mom is Home

Mom was ecstatic when she saw this headline in the paper today. That means we will be able to see a full river for another three years in the summer. It was closed three months out of the year. There is what they call a diversion dam down aways from here that when it is closed it fills up what they call Red Bluff Lake which is part of the river. This year the city said they weren't going to close it anymore which means we have beachfront property. Only thing is, when the river is full Mom won't be able to watch the geese and ducks for three months except when they float or swim up and down the river. She has the rest of the year to watch them though.
Daughter Bean
Daughter bean is going to have her last chemo treatment this coming Monday. Then there will probably be some testing before scheduling surgery. Mom is amazed how she is taking all this mentally. She says it's all the prayers that is helping her. Mom cries good tears because of all you great people out there. Thank you so much.
