A Note to All my Friend's

Hi, just opened my eyes to let you know that Mom
is sorry she hasn't been helping me post lately. I miss
visiting my friends a lot. She is helping a friend
of hers go to doctor and testing appointments. She is
suppose to have a knee replacement,
replacing an old knee replacement. It was suppose
to be on January 2nd but it was changed to Jan 13th.
Mom's friend has difficult remembering so Mom
also keeps track of her friends appoinments.
Mom says between her friend, herself and Dad's
doctor appointments can be a hassle, but so far none
of them has fallen on the same day. Most of Dad
and Mom's appointments at the end of the year are
yearly check ups. Mom was diagnosed to have a hip
replacement the first of March and decided to get a second
opinion which she finally did last month. She went for
a cortisone injection to see if that would help and so far it has.
Hopefully no surgery at least for now. Well, it's time to get
back to my nap. Take care everyone.

Turkey Turkey

Wow, that turkey looks good. Had my own chair

Mom gave me some and so did daughter bean.

platter away from me. They said I was getting

Casper on the Beautiful Blanket

Mom joined in on the auction for Sammy,
Andy, Shelly and Mom Judi and made
a bid on this beautiful blanket made
by Peggy. She sure was surprised
when no one else put a bid on it and
Mom won it. When she received it in
the mail she was absolutely amazed how
big it was and a lot prettier than what
was shown in the picture. It feels so
nice and soft, and it feels so good to lay
on. Mom meets with a group at the
clubhouse Monday afternoons and
yesterday she took the blanket over
there so eveyone could see it. Some of
the women knit and crochet and they
were ooing and ahhing over it. Guess
they agreed how pretty it is.

'Mo' Cats Day

We want to help celebrate Mo Cats Day
too.
Sorry we haven't been on line lately
posting or visiting but Mom's modem
went Ka-Pluey and died. I don't
think she wants to talk about the
mess it turned out to be. She was
suppose to get it on Monday but
since it was a holiday she thought
it would be here Tuesday. It didn't
show. The real problem was AT&T
forgot to put the space number of
our mobile home on the address.
Sooo.......how could UPS deliver it
in a park with 62 mobile homes. I
am sure the driver wouldn't want
to knock on all those doors. Oh well,
we have it now and it's up and
running.

No More Full River

Mom is very sad today. At midnight tonight
the gates to the diversion dam will be opened
for the last time ever and we will never see
the river like this anymore. Bureau of
Reclamation and a judge down in Fresno CA.
which is a couple hundreds of miles from
us, has said that the poor salmon has trouble
making it up river, so the river that Red Bluff
has knowned for the last 40 years will be no
more. The fishermen up here says they aren't
having trouble catching fish, the salmon are getting
up here just fine. Dad saw one caught right in front
of him when he was sitting on the deck. The river
has been so full of boats for the last week trying
to get their last ride in. Oh well, guess you can't fight
the government, at least not in this day and age.
There will still be about a half river left on the
far side bank. It is just not the same.

The Squirrel

Hi, Mom woke me up so she could take this
picture. She kept saying "open your eyes
Cleo." Oh well, I wasn't in a deep sleep any
way. Mom was reading outside this morning and
saw this squirrel climbing the pine tree out in the
back. She turned around and saw Spot our
next door kitty laying on the ground eyeing
it. The squirrel got to the edge of a branch
and fell off but quickly scampered up the
palm tree with Spot not far behind. Mom
went over and spoke to Spot as he was
again laying on the ground and told him to
please leave the squirrel alone. After awhile
he walked away in disgust. In the meantime
Mom got the trusty old camera out and took
a few pictures of the squirrel. Mom said now
she knows why there aren't many squirrels
around, duh, to many cats.
She was glad she got this picture.
