Meow

I came from grocery shopping and there he or she stood on the other side of the street.
I stopped and enjoyed.

I think it´s a boy, it´s the way he looked at me.
He meowed.

I said, "hello, you" (well, as in "Hallo, du") and he made his way up to me, more talking from his side, more big smiles from mine.

Mind you, a dog and you´d see me running (which is stupid), but here now?
He came right up to me, talking some more, cuddling up at my legs, so I bent down and asked if I may pet him?

"Meow", I took it as a yes.
A stray? Well fed, so reckon a guy just out for a stroll?

I petted him some more, he then looked up and just left.

And I went home smiling.

One day, I tell you, one day I´ll have a cat!

I mean, I, we, live in the city of a very big cat after all!

Maybe this lille meetup was a pressie from Santa - this was on 23rd already, though, the old man was a tad early with me ? ;-)
I hope to meet him, the cat (or her after all?) again!

With my lille Nice though... on 24th, when we celebrate Christmas here in Germany, this happened:

- "Hello Auntie Iris!!!" (on the the phone)
- Hi J, you looking forward to meet Santa?"
- "... hmmmm..."
- "Bet he´s got loads of pressies for you!"
- "... hmmmm..."
- "You´ve been a good girl, right?"
- "... hmmmm..."

History repeating itself, LOL!

Yes, here it´s...

I was good, I nearly got a cat!

I have one!!

A tiger is a cat, too, right?
And they are early birds, it IS 03:10 a.m. - weird, but we are wide awake...
Bet Santa made some noise again!

This was AWESOMELY AWESOME, Iris. What a fun, fun post. What a beautiful and friendly cat. Bleubeard is jealous. He knew to give you an early Christmas gift of friendship. What more does one need? Maybe a lion that is Henry's brother.

Elizabeth, please give Bleubeard a big hug from this.. these (!) cats!
It was awesome indeed! He just came up to me, like he had trust! And "babbled" away, a chatty one, so cute!

What a nice cat! I also had a black cat, Isis! She was my Mishu's grandmother!
May the magical celebration of Christmas gift you with all the goodness and happiness.
Belated Merry Christmas to you!
Hugs!

What a lovely meeting with you and the cat, perhaps it's a message that you should soon have one of your own.
Tigers are definitely cats and I love them as much as I love all the big cats. lions, tigers, panthers etc.

Ella, thank you! It was magical, indeed! I´ve seen him from far away more often, but that day... sooo cute.
Happiness and all merry to you! Hugs!

River I´d love to ... but then we cannot come to Perth no more!
When I retire I´ll have a cat! Or a panther ;-) Black, certainly!
(No, the color does not matter, it´s the heart, right)

...Iris, keep the excitement of Christmas inside you. It's too special a time for just one day!

Iris Flavia said...

Tom, I do! We have the 24th as real Christmas Day, when Santa comes over with his pressies. 25th is is called first, and 25th second Day of Christmas. (Germans, huh).
So, today it´s still Christmas!

That cat looks a little like my beloved Ink. I miss him so you’re encounter with the black cat made me smile.

Iris Flavia said...

I am sorry you lost Ink. Another reason I am afraid of getting another pet - they are family...

I hope you get your cat one day. I do think cats carry messages. Maybe from beyond the grave, maybe just a message of joy. I'm glad you got your Christmas Eve message, no matter what it was!
