Mystery ahead?

Today I join Rain´s Thursday Art and Dinner Date with owls.
I cross-read atm so "What an Owl knows" is still in my list!
Amazing birds!

How do you decide which media to use? I was thinking... watercolor? Pencils?
Help appreciated!

For the dinner-part...

Ingo made them again, and from scratch, too, just like my maternal family, my Grandma, "Omi", who raised my Bro and me out of 14 grand-children.
They came from there...

Wiki says to this: "The dish is named for the former German city of Königsberg (now Kaliningrad, Russia), and is one of the highlights of historical East Prussian cuisine."
(See why I am a tad afraid Ukraine loses? In no time "the Russians" are here)

I had an extra-helping of capers as I missed out on these as a child, thinking their are animals.
No one explained or asked why I skip. Pass the caper, please!!!!

The  internet-series (just for in case you pop by only today):
The text below I let Deepl translate, taht is all there is. The German link   is only for in case you like to hop through the gallery of the 33 dishes yourself.
I´ve learned that some of you think these are my words, my opinion, but it is from the internet and I think it´s interesting. so I share.
All orange text is links, you can click on it for more info, but now, here goes:

"33 retro dishes that are rarely served today

 Scallops

We also have French cuisine to thank for the scallops, traditionally sautéed in butter, sprinkled with a mix of Gruyère cheese and breadcrumbs and baked until golden brown. Today, however, you will only find the dish in traditional French restaurants."

Gruyère and breadcrumbs, YES, the rest, nooo.....

Is that a meatball with gravy?I have never had scallops served in shells, but here sometimes we can buy scallops with our fish and chips, they coat them with crumbs and fry them same as the fish. It's been years since I had any.

Yes, the "Wiki says..." is a link to them, also to their preparation. All orange text is links :-)
Sadly I´m no seafood fan, I know it´s healthy!....

Your owl is adorable. Please don't ask me what medium to use to color that adorable owl. I can only draw flies (grin)!

The problem with the link you gave us is it is in German only and there is no translator tool that works. I've never had those scallops, at least not that I can remember.

...I love scallops, but they are so expensive these days.

Flies, LOL.
I let Deepl translate everything there was, so, no worries (I´ll add that info)...

I never had them...

How to decide? Just pick whatever you feel like working with at the moment! If it doesn't play right, try the same thing with something else.

Awww, well, I hoped for a "recipe"...

I can't believe you only ate 1 meatball. I would have gone for 3. And how to decide on media. Well, each media has it's own characteristics so I think about what I might want. Watercolor is light and transparent. Paint his heavier. I'm terrible with colored pencils so I never use them. Markers give a bold look... plus, if I use one type of media and I like the result, I remember when I used it and how I liked it so I do it again. :) Hope your day is going well. hugs-Erika

Your owl is so cute! Yummy meatballs. I find acrylic paint is very forgiving, easy to fix mistakes. Watercolour pencils is good for me, I don't use watercolour paints much. -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com

a) I´m getting old(er), b) Ingo with his crooked pancreas (inherited) can´t each much and when a man, much taller than you eats less that you... you reduce automatically, I guess...?
Haaaa, so many choices. Reckon I need to keep on trying with media...
I cheated anyways. For the black I took marker...
Still nothing from the study-team, on hold and the weather is more than..meep, but alas, got a lot done, hugs

And it was, RedPat, made from scratch!

Cute owl. As to media, art is experimentation. The meatballs look so yummy.
