40K Templars v Orks

So for the final time before returning to studentland the Gaming Heir and I dug out the 40K collection.

The ladz were out in force

Dredd v. Dredd action looked likely

The boys were soon yomping through the jungle

With Klankenstein clattering along beside them

The Oomie Dredd soon started smackin' da boyz upside the head.

But the ladz weren't afraid.

Smash, crush, whirr, boink!

Both sides had taken some upgrades

Lotsa dakka in dat fing!

Ah, the classic match- up

Crunch, whirr, grind!

Eventually the tank just came apart in the 'Naut's Klaws!

Unfortunately all the Ooomies inside then climbed out.

And laid in to the poor, peaceful 'Naut!

Meanwhile other Oomies cheated by droppin outa da sky to beat up the Lootas!

The 'Naut murdered most of his enemies, but this one proved trickier to deal with

He took his big pointy sword and jabbed it into a weak spot!

With a loud BANG! the 'Naut exploedrated.
The inferno amusingly killing the Emperor's Champion at the same time.

Meanwhile the lads were wailing on some Terminators

Da Big Boss and his Ladz arrived to deal with da Ooomie Dredd

As the jungle bathed in the light from two blazing behemoths. And the smell of Barbecued Champion.

The Termies were going down under sheer weight of chopper,

And Gruzzkupp peeled open the sarcophagus of the Dredd and pulled out the shriveled remeains of the Marine inside.

Victory to da Orks - dis jungle is stayin' GREEN!

More Warhammer 40K - Templars v Orks

Another game in the jungle with my venerable 40K collection.

The Lads assembled

Gruzkupp was hanging out with his Nobs

Filthy Oomies had occupied a central ruin

They were soon advancing through the jungle

The boys charged into the ruins

Whilst more lads ran towards another objective

Where Templars stood waiting

The fight in the ruins ground on.

As Gruzzkupp tried to sneak up

Jump pack marines and a nasty Chaplain got involved

The ruins were in green hands

Gruzzkupp continued to tiptoe through the undergrowth

The cans arrived to deal with the chaplain.

Gruzzkupp arrived to hand it out to the big dudes

As the Chaplain proved resilient

But the ruins remained green

An Ork victory! We sorted out the rules for Waaagh and some of the other Ork special rules and that made them an altogether tougher proposition.

It's still a silly game though.

Warhammer 40,000 Orks v. Black Templars

The Gaming Heir is home from university for the holidays. Out of a spirit of mischief he likes to challenge me to games of 40k, knowing that I would rather play almost anything *other* than "the game for children, deviants and accountants".

Anyway we set up as usual for a 750 point or so game and had at it in a game looking to try and hold objectives. I took the Orks and he took his Templars.

Warboss Gruzzkupp lined up alongside his Kill-o-zap gun.

He had the Kans along with him.

The Templars were out in force

Shoving Novices into the front line.

Soon the Orks were falling on the black armoured marines.

And the Kans had seized the middle ground.

The battle unfolds.

One mob snuck up the right flank

While the other mob got stuck in

The Emperor's Champion made a bee line for  Gruzzkupp

On the right the mob secured the objective

But were forced to abandon it to try and bring down the Emperor's Champion.

As the Black Templar captain wiped out all opposition.

Victory for the forces of the Imperium.

We both surprised ourselves with how well this played - it was quite straightforward and rattled along just fine.Still never going to be my favourite game but it was fun to get the toys out.
