A very polite Bird Digimon that is always calm, cool, and collected. Just like V-mon, it's a descendant of a special species that flourished in ancient times, so it's able to borrow the power of the "Digimental" to pseudo-evolve to an Armor. Its Signature Move is violently pecking with its beak like a woodpecker (Beak Pecker). Its Special Move is using the feather ornament on its head like a boomerang (Feather Slash).

Hawkmon plays the Mach Draw deck, a Green/Nature deck with 2 attack, 3 defense and 3 evolution speed. Upon being defeated, he warns the player that he'll become stronger by evolving to Aquilamon next.

Hawkmon appears in the game as a Partner Card, and is one of the first three Partner Cards the player can choose, alongside V-mon and Armadimon. Otherwise, Hawkmon can be obtained from Ichijouji Ken in Steep Road as the player's third Partner Card. Partner Cards can level up and increase their stats, as well as changing their Support Effects. Hawkmon is a Child-level Nature card, whose stats at level 1 are:

  • HP: 600
  • +P: 30
  • Circle attack: 300
  • Triangle attack: 200
  • X attack: 0, Circle Counter
  • Support Effect: Draw 3 cards.

If the player chooses Hawkmon as their first Partner Card, they'll start the game with a Hawkmon deck, which uses Nature and Rare Digimon cards with a focus on balance. Upon obtaining the Digimental of Love, the Partner Hawkmon card can Armor Evolve in-battle to Holsmon. Upon obtaining the Digimental of Purity, it can Armor Evolve to Shurimon.

During the side mission "From Pegasmon to the World", Pegasmon in Central Town asks Yuki Dan/Yuki Kanan for a Digimental of Purity for a frustrated Hawkmon. With the Digimental, Hawkmon evolves into Shurimon.

A Hawkmon and a Floramon from the same Gear Forest village as Palmon dislike her and mistook Yuki Dan/Yuki Kanan's group to be Titans. As such, they try to stop them from reaching the village through traps such as tangling the ivy Palmon uses to cross cliffs and blocking the Agent's party's way with a mix of fake and real, feral Woodmon. Hawkmon and Floramon's last attempt at getting rid of the Agent and Palmon fails as they're attacked by an actual group of Titans, comprised of a Kuwagamon, a Goburimon and a Shamamon. After the Agent's group defeats said Titans, Hawkmon and Floramon pledge to be their underlings, if only to gain their protection, then leave for the village. Later, as the Agent's group was about to leave Gear Forest, Hawkmon tells them that Junomon's temple was being attacked by a large number of Titans.

Gear Forest Hawkmon ends his sentences with "-ze".

8 years later, the Gear Forest Hawkmon evolved into a Griffomon and assists the party in reaching Bacchusmon, who was already compromised by the Titans.
