More Glittered Circles

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Have you ever had a card that you struggled with?

This one was a struggle for me!

I did some soft sponging over a stencil and was happy with the background.

I was using this technique by Eileen Godwin and CASEing her card.

I stamped a silhouette flower in black and didn't like it.
It seemed too strong a contrast to the soft colors of the background.
So I winked it with Stella.

I liked that even less and set it aside.

I'd look at it and think that it needed something.  Finally, the thought of
a die cut popped into my head.

If you look closely you can see the stamped flower behind the die cut.

I'm finally satisfied!

Here's a close up.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Sparkle a Lot

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

During the summer, my friend Ruthann and I went to the SSAT show in Raleigh.

We wanted to do the make and take at the Stamp on It booth, but so
did everybody else.  So we bought some of their stuff and figured we
could figure it out.  With the help of a You Tube video, we did.

The design was printed on acetate and this self stick glitter film was added
behind the image.

It all looked kind of backwards to us, but when we had it done, it was amazing!

I'll add this to the gallery at CAS Christmas.
The challenge closes tomorrow, the 24th at midnight PDT.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Glitter for CAS Christmas

Hello crafty friends.

It's time for a new challenge at
CAS Christmas

Loll has challenged us to use glitter on our CAS Christmas Cards

I used some beautiful Glitter Paste that my sweet friend Loll sent me for my birthday.

I LOVE this color!

I found this NBUS stencil, taped it on a piece of mixed media paper
and used a palate knife to spread the glitter.

It worked beautifully except for the center of one star.
So I covered it up with the sentiment.

I also pressed the edges of the design piece in my embossing pad
and dipped it in some embossing powder that was a great match
right down to the glitter.

Our Design Team and lovely Guest Designer Michelle have some
sparkly inspiration cards to show you.
Do check them out then join us at

I'm also going to add this to
Jingle Belles
BLUE CHRISTMAS

Enjoy!

Snowy Tree for CAS Mix Up

Hi.  It's December 1st! Wow!
It seems like the year just started and, whoosh, it's almost gone!

And it's Christmas card time.

It's time for our last CAS Mix Up challenge of the year.

Updated to add the card with a red bird.
I think I like it better.

Using stamping, heat embossing, Distress Oxide Slash technique, glitter and die cuts.

We're making it easy for you this month.

I used Loll's Splash Technique with Distress Oxides on Tim Holtz Specialty Paper.

This technique is so much fun and you never know what you are going to come up with!

I used Iced Spruce and a tiny bit of Antique Linen for this piece.

The tree was done by adhering some sticky sheet to a piece of cardstock and
sprinkling some fine white glitter over the sticky once the liner was removed.
It has a real icy look to it.

Seeing the photo, I think I need to add a tiny red bird.
What do you think?

As always, our Design Team has some wonderful inspiration for you.
Our Guest Designer is Ina (Litttle Bits of Craft) and I know you will love
her inspiration piece as much as I do.

I hope you'll be able to join us this month at

Another Glittered Leaf

Hello, dear friends.

I have some more glitter to share today.

Using stamping, heat embossing, dry embossing and glitter.

This time I used a brown skeleton leaf.  It had already been embossed with gold.

I added some glue around the edge and sprinkled gold glitter on it.

It's laying on a bed of embossed leaves that I cut at a wonky angle.

This was really quick if you don't count getting all the glitter up that has drifted
all over the house!

There's still a few days left to add some glitter at
CAS Mix Up

Do check out the gallery.  There are some sparkly beauties over there!

I'm also entering this over at

Glitter, Glitter

Hello friends.

It's time for the mid-month reminder at CAS Mix Up.

You probably don't need it, but here's some more inspiration for you.
Using stamping, glitter, heat embossing and smooshing with Inka Gold

I adhered a piece of Sookwang sheet to some Neena cardstock and die cut it.

After pulling off the liner, I poured some fine green glitter over all that sticky
and rubbed it in with my finger.

It didn't cut all the way through, which I kind of liked better than the open tree.

And it sure is glittery!

I found a piece that I'd done by smooshing Inka Gold and water.

Lots of sparkle and shine on this card!

The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed in gold to stay with all the shine.

I hope you'll pull out some glitter and join us at
CAS Mix Up

Glittering it up for CAS Mix Up

Hi.  I hope you are having a sparkly day!

My studio is really sparkling these days!

The CAS Mix Up Challenge this month is
Using stamping, glitter, splash watercolour, fiber elements and heat embossing

I started out thinking Christmas, but then my mojo went in a totally different direction!

I'm going to blame Mac Mable for that.  Her card and tag made me go AWOL!

Thanks for the wonderful inspiration Mac!

I've had these leaves in my stash for several years and Mac's feathers made me think of them.

I messed up a few and discovered that less is definitely more with glitter!

First I spread some glue on the edge of a leaf and dumped some glitter over it.

While the glue was drying and hopefully securing the glitter (does anything really secure glitter?),

When everything was dry, I adhered the leaves, a little stamping and
heat embossing and I was finished.

There are some great tutorials on using glitter.  You'll find links at

There's also some amazing inspriation cards over there.
Our Design team and Guest Designer, Robyn (Waterlily cards by Robyn)
have outdone themselves with their beautiful creations!

Hope to see your glittery creations over there.

Challenge is open until the 24th.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!
