Merry Christmas Snowmen

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

This Unity Snowman stamp has been in my NBUS box since last Christmas.

I don't know what took me so long to ink him up.

I stamped with Copic friendly ink and colored with Copic markers.

Then I did him in red.  Very festive.

This time I paper pieced his scarf and gave him a more masculine look.

Just Us Girls #800 - Anything goes
Peace on Earth #99 - Anything Christmas goes (didn't use the mood board for inspiration)
NBUS #80 - Never Before Used Schtuff

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Something About Christmas (Unity), Holiday Tapestry (GKD)
Ink:   Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  Neenah Solar White, Cornflower, Poppy Parade, Patterned Paper
Other:  Copics (C00, C1, C3, C10, N3, N5, G46, YG67, R29, B24, B37, YR15, YR18) (C00, C1, C3, C10, N3, N5, R24, $29, YR15, YR18, G46, YG67), Chunky White Frantage (heated from bottom)

Ghostly Happy Halloween

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm kind of stuck on the idea of an embossed spider web on my
Halloween cards this year.  They make such a good background with a bit of
sponged white along the raised bits.

And I have been enjoying the Unity Creep it Tweet set.

The images was stamped on a piece of Neenah solar white that had been cut with
an arch die and paired with the next size arch behind.  I sponged some purple
along the edges and colored the sheet with a bit of purple that was left on the brush.

We used the same layout in the last class but used the witch stamp.

Challenges:
Can You Handle the Pressure - must use embossing folder with a twist of Anything Fall (spider web)
Just Us Girls #796 - Word Week (Halloween)

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Creep it Tweet (Unity)
Ink:   Nocturne (VFC), Wilted Violet (DOX), Whisper White (SU)
Paper:   Neenah Solar White, Going Gray
Other:  Spider Web EF (CB), Essential Arches dies (SB), Spooky Boo dies (SB), Halloween Frightful Things (TH), Stitched Pumpkins (LF)

Enjoy!

Creepy Tweet

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

When I saw these puffy birds all decked out for Halloween,
I just had to order the stamps!

These guys make me smile!

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #699 for this round guy.
His belly made me thing of Verena's sketch.

I tried to use the sketch for the whole card and needed to put the sentiment a
bit lower.  I hope that's okay.  My eyes keep going to his belly anyway.

Challenges:
Freshly Made Sketches #699 - See sketch above
Darnell's I.D.E.A.S. - Third Week E for embossing
Two Old Bats Halloween - ATG Halloween (did not use the mood board)
NBUS #77 - Never Before Used Schtuff (stamps)

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Creep it Tweet (Unity)
Ink:   Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:   Neenah Solar White
Other:  Spider Web EF (SZ), Infinity Circles die (HA), Stitched Circles (SSS), Copics (C3, C2, YR00)

Enjoy!

Joyful Echoes

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

This NBUS stamp is such fun.  I chose to have her belting out the
Happy Birthday song.  She could just as easily be excited about something
....or screaming in frustration.

I chose for her to sing today.

I've colored her with Ohuhu markers and used the die that I bought with her
and placed her on a background from my stash.  I'm not sure how I did that
background because there were no notes on it.

I looked and looked for a musical notes stamp or die in my stash, but couldn't
find one. I feel sure there is one there somewhere but the embossed music
will have to do this time.

I did another while she was out.

This time I colored with Zigs and used one of the sentiments that came with the set.
I'll set it aside for a friend's birthday.  I have a particular friend in mind that I think
this is perfect for.

Challenges:
Just Us Girls #765 - Die Week - Birthday
NBUS #72 - Never Before Used Schtuff
Seize the Birthday #300 - ATG Birthday (did not use the option of no stamping.
Darnell's I.D.E.A.S. - Week 2 Dies

Card Recipe (card 1)
Stamps:  Joyful Echoes (Unity), Bitty Birthday Basics (MFT)
Ink:   Memento Toffee Crunch, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:   Mixed Media (Strathmore), Neenah Solar White, Tickled Pink
Other:  Joyful Echoes Die (Unity), Ohuhu Marker (Geranium), Crystal Glaze (Nuvo), Merry Melody EF (SU)

Card Recipe (card 2)
Stamps:  Joyful Echoes (Unity)

Two Frogs

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I've been having some fun with a NBUS stamp from Unity.

I did both a masculine and a feminine version.

First up the masculine version.  This was a take off of a card we did in my last class.

The frog is stamped and heat embossed with clear powder, then watercolored.

The navy piece is dry embossed.  It didn't want to show up well in the photo.
One side of it didn't emboss for some reason (user error, I'm sure) so I cut that
part off and added it green background.

Since I had another frog stamped, I decided to make a feminine version...

I stenciled some hearts in the background and added this one on a pink heart.
I gave him a crown cut from White and heat embossed with gold. I've added inside that
"you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince".  It goes to my teenage granddaughter.

Challenges:
Can You Handle the Pressure - I used the twist of something that begins with the letter F (Frog)
Just Us Girls #761 - Use a Die Cut Heart
NBUS #71= Never Before Used Schtuff
Stencil Fun - Use Stencils with option of pink or red

Card Recipe (card 1)
Stamps:  Feelin' Foggy (Unity)
Ink:   Versafine Clair Nocturne, Gumball Green (SU)
Paper: Granny Apple Green, Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Mixed Media (Strathmore)
Other:  Clear EP, Curved Point Pinpoint Layers die (MB), Checkered Scallops EF (SB), Heart Punch (ret SU), Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding

Card Recipe (card 2)
Stamps:  Feelin' Froggy (Unity), Keep it Simple-Valentine (PTI)
Ink:   Versafine Claire Nocturne, Pretty in Pink (SU)
Paper: Neenah Solar White, Tickled Pink (MFT)
Other:  Clear EP, Gold EP, Stitched Up Heart die (Unity), Happy die (Paper Roses), Red Sharpie

Enjoy!
