Spring for CAS Watercolour

Hello my friends.

The first half of March has whoosed past and it's time for another
CAS Watercolour card.

Spring is just a few days away for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere.

The tulips will be blooming very soon.

I used a NBUS tulip stamp, inking it with Fossilized Amber
and stamping on the smooth side of my watercolor paper.

I smooshed some Distress stains on my home made palette
(a piece of laminated white cardstock) and used my Aqua Painter
to pick up the ink and paint it around the flowers

The MISTI made it possible to stamp again adding the lines back in.
and I added some shading with the small end of the a Barn Door Distress Marker.

I used a marker to line the stems and added water with my Aqua Painter.

There is a very light wash of blue in the background.

FYI, the black frame came about because I cut the design piece too small.
That was after cutting the circle aperture and measuring carefully.
It ended up being a happy accident though, after spending an hour finding
a circle die that was just the right size!

There's still time to enter at
CAS Watercolour
The challenge is open until the 24th.
The Design Team and our Guest Designer, Heather, have been busy
creating spring cards to inspire you.

Spring Flowers

My friend Jan brought this die for me to have a play with.

I cut it out of some snippets of yellow and green and  messily loosely sponged some ink
close to the embossed piece, popped some candy dots in the center,
and called it daffodils.

ANYTHING GOES
Thanks so much for choosing my stenciled tag card to be in your top 3!

I used snippets of yellow and green for the die cuts.

Promise Me Tulips

The tulips have been beautiful this year!

Seeing them has made me want to do a card with this awesome Penny Black stamp.

And when I saw the Curtain Call Challenge, I was had to play.

IN THE MIDDLE

I inked the stamp with Distress Markers, thumped with a darker shade
and stamped on Whisper White cardstock.

The background is lightly sponged with Soft Sky.

I used my Color Spritzer and Pumpkin Pie marker to spritz a bit of the orange shade.

The sentiment is from a Penny Black set, Eloquence.
I love these sentiments!

I hope you're having a good weekend.

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!

Indescribable Gift for Easter

I thought these flowers were so pretty and couldn't wait to
color them.

I used the Pink Pirouette and Wild Wasabi Blendabilities to color them.

Our flowering trees are dressed up so pretty now
and when the wind blows, it looks like it's snowing flower petals.

The dogwood outside my kitchen window is starting to bloom.

Every day the flowers open a bit more.

I hope there's something pretty outside your window.

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!

Promise Me Tulips

I love tulips so when I saw this Penny Black stamp,
it jumped to the top of my list.

I inked this beautiful stamp with Distress Markers and stamped
onto the Whisper White card stock, then inked the sentiment the same way.

I've backed the design piece with a piece of Neena for added body
and popped it up on the card base.

I wish all my cards went together this easy!

Daffodil Delight

It's beginning to look like Spring here in central NC.

It makes me want to put Spring on a card.

I recently bought this Our Daily Bread stamp and die.

I colored the stamp with Stampin' Up! Markers, thumped and stamped.
Then blended the colors with a Blender Pen

FREEZE FRAME
I think this qualifies as a frame and I used my manual Big Shot to cut the frame out.

BTW, I see that my Fern Card was a winner over there for their
GREEN WITH ENVY CHALLENGE.

Woot!  Thanks so much.

Darnell is hosting another NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) Challenge
This is the first outing for the frame and the daffodil stamp.
