When there is sensibility and love for nature it is possible for human beings to discover and admire all the creatures living with us, also in those that are normally considered ordinary and dull. GREAT SHOT, my dear! It's like a prayer: "LAUDATE SII MI SIGNORE CUM TUTTE TUE CREATURE....!!! (from "Il Cantico Delle Creature" di San Francesco d'Assisi" [The Canticle of Creatures by St Francis]) (God be praised for all His creatures...!)
This is an incredible shot of one of my favorite creatures! They are beautifully designed. The wings remind me of the stained glass windows I grew up with in church. (AND they eat mosquitos too)! What's not to love?
I showed this pic to my hubby this morning and he immediately began chattering about a red dragonfly he saw at our pond. Then he suggested I take pictures of it like yours. Funny guy he is.
"Some people, in order to discover God, read books. But there is a great book: the very appearance of created things. Look above you! Look below you! Read it. God, whom you want to discover, never wrote that book with ink. Instead He set before your eyes the things that He had made. Can you ask for a louder voice than that?”
St. Augustine
Thank you

where art imitates life - very art-deco.
It reminds me of stained glass with the lines before the color is added. Great macro

Gorgeous, it reminds me very much of Tiffany glass.
I love the wings. Beautiful. Just Beautiful.
You have captured such amazing detail in these wings.
So beautifully done!
GOrgeous!!!
Stunning macro. Gorgeous composition. You have a macro lens, right? But how to even get close enough to a moving dragon to capture this... amazing...
