Weihnachtskarte mit Zug

Heute habe ich eine Weihnachtskarte für Euch, für die eigentlich keine Weihnachtsprodukte  zum Einsatz kamen. Und trotzdem ist sie absolut weihnachtlich, zumindest für alle, die den Polar Express kennen.

Today I have a christmas card for you, that I didn't use any specific christmas product for. And still it's very christmas-sy, at least to all, that know the Polar Express.

 

Meine Große hat mir vor einiger Zeit ein Bild geschickt, auf dem sie gerade den Film Polar Express schaut. Der gehört bei uns jedes Jahr zum Pflichtprogramm. Ja, sie war etwas früh dran, aber es gibt nichts besseres, um in Weihnachtsstimmung zu kommen. Und das hat mich dann dazu inspiriert, diese Karte zu machen. 

 Für den Hintergrund habe ich ein Stück weißen Cardstocks mit Distress Ink Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans und Chipped Sapphire gewischt. Dann habe ich mit dem Tall Pines Embossingfolder von SimonSaysStamp die Tannen im Hintergrund eingeprägt. Damit die besser zur Geltung kommen, habe ich mit einem Brayer Versafine Clair Twilight auf die erhabenen Bäume aufgetragen. 

Ich habe die Bäume mit Papier abgedeckt und nur auf den Himmel golene Metallic-Watercolor als Sterne aufgespritzt. 

Für den winterlichen Look habe ich die Bäume dann noch beschneit, und sie damit, zugegebenermaßen, relativ abgedeckt. Ich habe mit einem Versamark Marker Embossingtinte aufgetragen und dann weißes Puff-Embossingpulver aufgestreut. Das pufft beim Erhitzen auf und sieht wie Schnee aus, ist aber durch den Versamark-Stift sehr viel genauer aufzutragen als z. B. Schneepaste. 

 

My oldest sent me a pic a little ago where she was watching the Polar Express movie. It's a must for us every year. Yes, she might have been a bit early but is there anything better to get in a christmas mood? And it inspired me to make this card.

For the background I inked a piece of white cardstock with Distress Ink Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire. Then I used the Tall Pines embossingfolder by SimonSaysStamp to emboss the pines into the cardstock. To make them more noticable I used a brayer to apply some Versafine Clair Twilight only onto the raised areas.

I covered the trees with paper and splattered gold metallic watercolor as stars only onto the sky.

For the wintery touch I covered the trees with snow, and, I admit it, covered those up pretty much. I used a Versamark pen to apply some embossing ink and then put White Puff embossing powder into the ink. It puffs up when it gets heated up and looks like snow. And with the Versamark pen it is a lot easier to apply it only in the areas you want to have covered with snow, unlike other things like snow paste.

 

 Brücke und Zug sind aus einem Stanzenset, das ich vor kurzem bei Amazon erstanden habe. Und nein, es ist keine Kopie eines bekannten Herstellers - es gibt auch "Billighersteller", die ihre eigenen Designs habe. Und da gehe ich immer auf absolut Nummer sicher, bevor ich so ein Set bestelle.

Ich habe die Brücke, die eigentlich viel länger ist, aus hellgrauem Cardstock gestanzt. Sie ist eigentlich niedriger, ich habe die Pfeiler per Partial Diecutting verlängert. Ich habe die Brücke dreimal gestanzt und einmal die komplette Brücke, einmal nur die Bögen und einmal die Teile, die ich dann dunkler coloriert habe, verwendet. Alles habe ich mit Copics schattiert und mit dünnem 3D Tape aufeinander geklebt. 

Per Hand habe ich noch Schattenteile für die Bögen aus dunkelgrauem Cardstock gestanzt und hinter die Brücke geklebt, um ihr etwas Dimension zu geben.

Die Tannen im Vordergrund sind aus einem Stempelset von SU. Ich habe sie mit Versafine Clair Twilight abgestempelt und dann mit der Schere ausgeschnitten. Ja, das war eine ziemliche Fitzelei, aber das Ergebnis wert. 

Auch auf die gestempelten Bäume und die Brückenteile habe ich dann das White Puff als Schnee aufgetragen.

Die Teile des Zugs habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. Für die silbernen Teile habe ich einen Gelstift verwendet. Und den Rauch habe ich aus Vellum gestanzt. Dafür habe ich den Dampf, der eigentlich aus dem Zauberkessel des A Little Spooky Stanzensets von HoneyBeeStamps aufsteigt, verwendet. Ich habe ihn aufs Gesicht gedreht und an einer schmalen Stelle schräg abgeschnitten. So passt er prima zum Zug - auch wenn mein Mann behauptet, er sieht ein wenig wie ein Eichhörnchen aus... ;)

Hinter die Fenster des Zugs habe ich gelben Cardstock geklebt und sie mit einer dünnen Schicht Glossy Accents überzogen. Und natürlich brauchte auch der Zug Schnee auf den Dächern. 

 

Bridge and train I made with a die set, that I got from Amazon a little ago. And no, it's not any kind of knock off of a known brand - there are also others, that create their own designs. And I always make that sure before buying a set like that.

I die cut the bridge, that's originally a lot longer, from light grey cardstock. It's also smaller so I did some partial diecutting to make the piers taller. I die cut the bridge three times and used the whole piece, from the next just the arches and from the last one the pieces that I colored a darker grey. I shaded all the parts with Copics and put the bridge together with thin foam tape.

I also used my scissors to cut some shadow pieces from dark grey cardstock and glued those behind the bridge to give it some dimension.  

The pine trees in the foreground are made using a stamp from a set by SU. I stamped it with Versafine Clair Twilight and then cut it out with my scissors. Yes, that was real fussy cutting but absolutely worth the result.

I covered the trees and the bridge with the White Puff as snow again.

The train parts I cut from white cardstock and colored them with Copics. I used a silver gel pen for the silver pieces. And the smoke I cut from vellum. I used the steam, that's comes out of the cauldron from the A Little Spooky die set by HoneyBeeStamps, here. I turned it face down and cut it off at an angle in a spot, where it is as thin as possible. Now it fits great behind/above the train - even with my husband saying it looks like a squirrel... ;)

I put yellow cardstock behind the windows of the train and covered them with a thin layer of Glossy Accents. And of course the train needed some snow, too.

 

 Oben auf den Himmel, direkt über dem Zug, habe ich dann meinen Text aufembosst. Natürlich hatte ich nichts, das irgendwie zum Polar Express passte. Aber dieser Text aus dem Wonder of Christmas Set von HoneyBeeStamps passt genauso gut, finde ich. 

Ich habe ihn mit weißem Embossingpulver direkt auf den Hintergrund embosst. 

 

Onto the sky, right above the train, I added the text of my card. Of course I didn't have anything Polar Express specific. But I think this text from Wonder of Christmas by HoneyBeeStamps works wonderfully as well.

I white heat embossed it directly onto the background.

 

 Ich habe alle Elemente auf den Hintergrund geklebt und dabei vor und hinter der Brücke jeweils eine Lage Schnee, gestanzt aus weißem Cardstock, eingefügt. Dann habe ich mit weißer Acrylfarbe über alles dicke Schneeflocken gespritzt.

Auf die Zugteile und auch die Spitzen der Tannen im Vordergrund habe ich dann noch kleine silberne Sternkonfetti geklebt. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I glued all the elements onto the background and added a layer of snow, cut from white cardstock, behind and in front of the bridge. Then I used white acrylic paint to splatter snowflakes over the whole scene.

I glued tiny silver star confetti onto the train and also the tips of the trees in the foreground.

As the last step I adhered the card panel to a white note card.

Heute habe ich eine Karte mit Weihnachtstruck für Euch, die auch die Form eines PickUps hat.

Today I have a  christmas truck card to share with you, that's also the shape of a pickup truck.

 

Ende September hat Pink and Main eine Stanze für eine Box-Card im PickUp-Look herausgebracht. Und das hat mich daran erinnert, dass ich diesen riesigen Stempel habe. Der dürfte doch auch perfekt für eine Weihnachtskarte sein. Und da ich Box Cards gar nicht so gerne möchte, habe ich einfach eine flache, aber gelayerte Karte gemacht.

 

End of september Pink and Main release a box card die in the shape of a pickup truck. That reminded me of that large pickup truck stamp I have. It should work great for a christmas card, too. And since I don't like box cards that much I made a flat but layered card.

Ich habe den PickUp Tailgate von HoneyBeeStamps benutzt. Der ist wirklich riesig. Es gibt ihn auch von vorne, ich habe beide, und die Outline-Stanze passt auf beide Automotive. Die habe ich verwendet, um die Grundform des Autos aus schwarzem Cardstock zu stanzen. 

Den Truck habe ich mehrfach abgestempelt und später gelayert. Dabei habe ich einmal das komplette Auto  und einmal die Ladefläche auf hell-türkisfarbenen Cardstock, die Stoßstange auf hellgrauen und den Unterboden samt Reifen auf dunkelgrauen Cardstock gestempelt. Die Spiegel, das Nummernschild und die Leuchten habe ich noch extra auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt. Zum Abstempeln habe ich erst NoLine Ink von InkOn3 benutzt und nach dem Colorieren jeweils noch eine farblich zum Cardstock passende Tinte verwendet und die Outlines nochmal drübergestempelt. Teilweise hatte ich da nichts, das Copic geeignet ist. Deswegen habe ich es so gelöst. Zum Colorieren habe ich Copics benutzt.

I used the PickUp Tailgate image by HoneyBeeStamps. It's a really big image. It's also available with the car shown from the front - I have both - and the outline die works with both stamp sets. I used it to cut the base shape of the car from black cardstock. 

I stamped the truck several times and layerd it later. I stamped the whole car and then just the bed onto light aqua, the bumper onto light grey and the bottom and tires onto dark grey cardstock. The mirrors, lights and license plate I stamped onto white cardstock. I first used the NoLine Ink by InkOn3 to stamp the images, after coloring them I used an ink color matching the cardstock to stamp the outlines on top. I didn't have Copic friendly colors for all of the colors I wanted to use so I did it this way. For the coloring I used Copics.

 

 Die Ladefläche des Trucks ist mit einem Weihnachtsbaum und Geschenken gefüllt. Die Motive sind alle aus dem Lovely Layers Beach Bound Holiday Add-On von HoneyBeeStamps, ebenso der Kranz, und die Lichtrkette, mit denen das Auto geschmückt ist. 

Auch hier habe ich alle Teile aus farbigem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics schattiert. 

Die Deko des Tannenbaums und des Kranzes ist aus silbernem Glitter-Cardstock und silbernem Spiegel-Cardstock gemacht. In den Kranz habe ich eine kleine Glocke gehängt, die ich aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt habe. 

 In das Nummernschild habe ich mit schwarzer Tinte ein XMAS aus dem Henry's Build a Sentiment Winter Stempelset von LawnFawn gestempelt. 

Ich habe alle Motivteile genau an der gestempelten Outline ausgeschnitten und dann das Auto zusammengesetzt.

 

The bed of the truck is filled with a christmas tree and presents. The images are all from Lovely Layers Beach Bound Holiday AddOn by HoneyBeeStamps, so are the wreath and the string of lights that the truck is decorated with.

Again I die cut all pieces from colored cardstock and shaded them with Copics. 

The decoration on the tree I cut from silver glitter and silver metallic cardstock. Into the wreath I've hung a little bell, cut from matte silver metallic cardstock. 

Onto the license plate I stamped a XMAS from Henry's Bild a Sentiment Winter stamp set by LawnFawn using black ink.

I cut out all the images and small pieces right along the stamped outlines and then put the car together.

 

 Erinnert Ihr Euch an die Trifold Card, die ich Euch vor einiger Zeit gezeigt habe, mit der Laterne auf einer der Seiten und wie ich bemerkt habe, dass ich doch tatsächlich keine Laterne in richtiger Größe hatte? Ich glaube, ich hatte auch gesagt, dass gerade schon etwas passendes auf dem Weg zu mir ist. Nun, hier ist sie. Sie wollte doch unbedingt gleich mit auf diese Karte. Also habe ich hinter dem Auto noch eine Laterne aufgestellt. Die lockert auch die Form etwas auf. 

Die Laterne ist aus dem Set Laterne für Bank. Ich habe sie aus dunkelgrauem Cardstock gestanzt und wieder schattiert. Hinter das Glas oben habe ich weißen Cardstock, leicht helltürkis schattiert, gesetzt. Und dekoriert habe ich die Laterne ebenfalls mit einem Kranz, der auch im Laternen-Stanzenset enthalten ist.

Der Wegweiser zum Nordpol, den ich in den Kranz gesteckt habe, ist wieder aus dem Lovely Layers Beach Bound Christmas AddOn Set. 

 

Do you remember the trifold card I shared with you a little ago, the one with the lantern on one of the layers? And how I mentioned, that I didn't have  a lantern die large enough? I think, I also mentioned, that I already ordered one to change that situation. Well, here it is. And I wanted to go on this card right away. So I put up a lantern behind the car, that also breaks up the shape of the card.

The lantern is from Laterne für Bank by CreativeDepot. I cut it from dark grey cardstock and shaded it with Copics again. Behind the glass at the top of the lantern I put some white cadstock that I shaded a very soft aqua. And I decorated the lantern with another wreath, that comes in the lantern die set. 

The road sign to north pole, that I tucked into the wreath, is again from Lovely Layers  Beach Bound Christmas AddOn.

 

 Zum Zusammensetzen des Autos habe ich 3D Tape zwischen die einzelnen Lagen gesetzt, um ihm Tiefe zu geben. Die Lichter, das Glas der Laterne und die Spiegel des Autos habe ich mit Glossy Accents überzogen.

Nach dem Zusammenkleben der Karte habe ich dann alle Teile mit Schnee überzogen. Ich habe einfach mit einem kleinen Spachtel weiße Schneepaste auf alle Teile aufgetupft. 

Die Stoßstange und das Metall der Laterne habe ich außerdem mit einem Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen beglittert. 

 

When putting the car together I put foam tape between the layers to give it some dimension. The lights, the glass of the lantern and the mirrors I covered with Glossy Accents. 

After putting the car together I covered everything with snow. I simply used a  small palette knife to dab snow paste onto the pieces.

The bumper and the metall of the lantern I also glittered up with a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen.

 

 Mit der bereits erwähnten Outline-Stanze habe ich dann die Form des Autos aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und das Auto obenauf geklebt. 

Mit derselben Stanze  habe ich dann auch aus weißem Cardstock eine oben gefaltete Karte in Form des Autos gemacht. Ich habe die Stanze so auf den gefalteten Cardstock gelegt, dass das Dach der Stanze ein wenig übersteht. 

Auf die weiße Karte habe ich dann erst die Laterne aufgeklebt. Damit sie schön stabil steht habe ich sie mit zwei weiteren Lagen schwarzen Cardstocks hinterlegt. Um diese Höhe auszugleichen, habe ich dann das das Auto samt schwarzer Grundform mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt. So steht das Auto dann auch sicher und gibt auch ein schönes Deko-Objekt ab.

 

With the outline die, that I already mentioned, I die cut the shape of the car from black cardstock and glued the colored car onto it.

I used the same die to create a top folding car-shaped card base from white cardstock.  I put the die onto the folded cardstock, letting the top go over the edge of the cardstock.

I first glued the lantern onto the white card base. To make sure it's not bending over I backed it with two more lanterns cut from black cardstock. To balance out the thickenss of the lantern I used thin foam tape to adhere the car including the black back layer. Now the car can stand up nicely and also makes a great decoration.

 

Mekka-Einkäufe die Zweite

Im heutigen Post zeige ich Euch ein weiteres Werk, auf dem die ein oder andere Errungenschaft des diesjährigen Stempelmekkas zum Einsatz kam. Und ich glaube, hiermit eröffne ich dann auch die Weihnachtsbastel-Saison. Wobei ich denke, Weihnachtliches wird sich hier noch ein wenig in Grenzen halten. Weil der Nussknacker von CreativeDepot für uns aber zur Mission wurde, musste ich ihn auch zeitnah verbasteln.

In today's post I am sharing with you another project that I used a few of my finds at this year's Stempelmekka on. And I think, with this card christmas craft season is officially here. But don't worry, I will keep christmas stuff very low for quite some time. This nutcracker stamp by CreativeDepot became a mission to us and so I had to use it as soon as possible.

 

Mission? Ich erzähle Euch die Geschichte, dann habt Ihr was zum Schmunzeln.

Das Nussknacker-Motiv war bereits als Vorschau für die am Mekka angebotenen Tüten-Workshops zu sehen, allerdings nur als Deko auf der Tüte. Deren Größe kannten wir nicht und somit auch nicht, wie groß der Stempel sein könnte. Im Lagerfeen-Schnack auf YouTube, in dem jeden Freitag (und somit auch am Tag unserer Anreise) die Neuheiten der Woche gezeigt werden, wurde das Stempelset auch nicht gezeigt. Wir vermuteten schon richtig, dass sie das erstmal nur auf dem Mekka verkaufen wollten - aber keine Angst, es kommt später noch in den Shop. Meine Freundin und ich waren aber so angtan von dem Motiv, dass wir immer weiter drüber reden mussten - und als dann die Neuheiten im Shop waren, konnten wir immerhin rausfinden, dass das Stempelset eine Größe von 10 x 10 cm haben müsste. Also haben wir unser Schul-Mathe hervorgekramt und mit Satz des Pythagoras sowie dem Abzug der nicht ausgefülten Ecken der Stempelfolie die vermutliche Größe errechnet. Übrigens absolut richtig, wie wir am nächsten Morgen im Hotel vom Team von CreativeDepot erfahren haben. 

Dieses Stempelset war dann auch das allererste, das wir auf dem Mekka gekauft haben. Erstens natürlich aus Angst, es könnte später ausverkauft sein und dann auch, weil wie beide absolute Stanzen-Junkies sind und die Messe für uns eher "Stanzen- und paar Stempel-Mekka" heißen müsste. Also wollten wir das Mekka bewusst mit einem Stempel beginnen. Tja, wir Stempler sind manchmal eben ein wenig verrückt.... ;)

So, nun aber zum Projekt. Das ist von der neusten Kollektion von TheGreetery inspiriert. Dort gibt es ein Capsules Stanzen- und Stempelset. Leider verschickt TheGreetery ja schon länger nicht mehr nach Deutschland und der einzige Shop in Europa, der die Firma anbietet, tut dies seit Anfang des Jahres auch nicht mehr. Ich finde das echt schade und ehrlich gesagt bin ich auch ein wenig sauer. Gerade wenn man schon Basis-Artikel der Firma hat, zu denen es immer weitere Erweiterungen gibt, an die man dann aber nicht mehr rankommt. Nun gut, dann probiere ich das Grundprojekt eben so gut es geht nachzubauen. 

Und da kommt schon die erste Mekka-Neuheit ins Spiel: das Fenster mit dem Muster samt Aufleger. Eigentlich ist das ein Fenster-Stanzenset für die Papiertüten von CreativeDepot, das wurde mir aber erst später bewusst. Ich habe es gesehen und dachte mir, es wäre perfekt für diese Karte. Damit habe ich dann das oberste Fenster gestanzt und seitlich je zwei ziehharmonika-förmig gefaltete Papierstreifen angesetzt, zwischen denen sich eine Lage Folie befindet. So poppt die Karte auf, wenn man sie aus dem Umschlag nimmt, lässt sich zum Verschicken aber recht flach zusammenfalten. 

 

Mission? I am telling you the story to give you a good laugh.

CreativeDepot did some giftbag workshops at Stempelmekka and those you had to book in advance. When booking them, you got a preview of the giftbag and some had the nutcracker on them. We didn't know the size of the giftbags and so weren't able to tell the size of the image. Every friday morning - that's the day we traveled to Dortmund - they post a video on YouTube, where they show this week's new products, but the nutcracker wasn't in them.  We thought, maybe it will only be available at the fair and we found out, that we were right. It will be available in the shop later in the year. My friend and I were so in love with the image, that we couldn't stop talk about it. When the new products of the week went online in the shop we found out, that the stamp sheet should be about 10 x 10 cm. So we remembered all the maths we learned back to school and with the help of the Pythagorean Theorem and by subtracting the empty corners of the sheet we thought to have found out the size of the image. When we went to breakfast the next morning some of the CreativeDepot team was there, too, and we had to tell them this story. Turned out that we were completly right about the size. 

So this stamp set was the very first thing we bought at the fair. Not only because we were afraid it might sell out, but also because we are both die-aholics. For us, the fair should be named "dies and a few stamps Mekka" instead of "stamp Mekka". So we decided to make a stamp our first purchase because of the name of the fair. I know, us crafters are a bit crazy every now and then... ;)

Okay, on to the project! It is inspired by the new collection by TheGreetery. They have a new Capsules stamp- and die set. Sadly they don't ship to Germany anymore since quite some time but since about a year the one and only european store, that is allowed to carry them, stopped shipping to the EU, too. I am really sad about it - and also a bit angry. Especially if you have bought some kind of basic die, that they come out with additions now and that you are not able to get anymore. Well, so I had to try to make my own version.

That's where the first Mekka-purchase for today's post comes into play: the window die. It's actually an additional window for the giftbag die, but I only realized that a lot later. I just saw the set and knew it will be perfect for what I had in mind. I die cut the top window with it and put two accordion folded strips to each side of the frame, putting a piece of acetate inbeween. The card pops up when taken out of the envelope but can be folded pretty flat for mailing. 

 

 Im Hintergrund befindet sich ein Stück schwarzen Cardstocks, auf den ich mit weißer Paste die Elemente des ersten Stencils des Poinsettia Layering Stencil Sets von WaffleFlower aufgetragen habe - übrigens ist auch das auf dem Mekka in meine Tasche gewandert - es war der allerletzte Kauf am Sonntag. Somit eröffnet und schließt diese Karte quasi mein diesjähriges Mekka....

 Die Lage 2 habe ich mit silberner Astro-Paste auf Acetate aufgetragen. Durch den Abstand zwischen den beiden Lagen - der ja durch den Cardstockstreifen seitlich entsteht - wirkt das Muster wunderbar plastisch. 

Hinter dem oberen Teil des oberen Rahmens habe ich zwei Pinienäste geklebt. Sie sind aus olivgrünem Cardstock gestanzt und mit etwas weißer Acrylfarbe  betupft. 

Auf den Aufleger mit dem ausgestanzten Fenster habe ich einen Rahmen aus olivgrünem Cardstock geklebt. Dafür habe ich das Fenster erneut ausgestanzt und entlang des gepunkteten Rands mit der Schere ausgeschnitten. So sind übrigens auch die schwarzen Cardstockstücke entstanden, denn die rechteckige  Stanze im Set - die ohne Deko - passt nicht genau zu der mit der Deko, sie ist ein wenig länger. Aber es ging auch so ganz gut.

Unten auf den Rahmen habe ich noch ein Banner aufgeklebt, auf das ich einen Weihnachtsgruß aus dem Set Wonder of Christmas von HoneyBeeStamps aufgestempelt habe. Das Banner ist mit der Elegant Folded Banner Stanze von MFT aus weißem Cardstock gemacht und mit Copics schattiert.

 

In the background there's a piece of black cardstock, that I stenciled the first of the two layering stencils from the Poinsettia layering stencil set by WaffleFlower onto using white paste. This is also something I bought at the fair - acutally it was my very last buy. So this card kind of starts and finishes this year's Mekka for me...

The second layer I did with silver AstroPaste on a piece of acetate. The distance between the layers, created by one of the cardstock strips on the side, makes the pattern wonderfully dimensional.

Behind the top piece of my card I put two pine branches. I cut them from olive green cardstock and dabbed some white acrylic paint onto them.

I glued a frame, made from olive cardstock around the window in the top layer. I simply cut out the window again and cut with my scissors along the dotted line. This is also how I made the base pieces - the plain rectangle die in the set with the giftbag window doesn't work for that, it's a bit taller. But it wasn't too hard to cut by hand.

To the bottom of the frame I put a banner, that I stamped a christmas greeting from Wonder of Christmas by HoneyBeeStamps onto. I die cut the banner from white cardstock using the Elegant Folded Banner die by MFT, then shaded it with Copics.

 

 Und jetzt kommen wir endlich zum Nussknacker, dem Star der Show - äh Karte. Ich wollte ihn weiß-silber colorieren. Also habe ich ihn mit grauer Tinte abgestempelt und mit Copics coloriert. Die dunkler grau colorierten Elemente habe ich mit einem Aqua Shimmer Pen beglittert, bei den weißen Elementen habe ich die Outlines mit einem feinen weißen Gelstift nachgemalt. Sie sind durch das Weiß immer noch etwas erkennbar, trotzdem wirken die Elemente so wirklich weiß. Die Outlines der Deko auf der Brust und des Säbels habe ich mit einem silbernen Gelstift nachgemalt. Und die Augen habe ich mit einem scharzen Fineliner nachgemalt, denn die sahen in Grau komisch aus. Oben auf die Edelsteine am Hut habe ich silberne Perlen geklebt. 

Ich habe den Nussknacker mit der Schere ausgeschnitten und dann mit 3D Tape auf die Folie in der Karte geklebt. Dort habe ich dann auch noch ein paar grüne Perlen verteilt. 

 

And now let's finally talk about the nutcracker, who's the star of the show - ehm card - here. I  wanted to color him in white and silver. So I stamped the image with a grey ink pad and colored him with Copics. The darker grey colored elements I made shimmery with an Aqua Shimmer Pen. With the white elements I used a fine white gel pen to go over the stamped lines. They are still kind of visible, but this makes the white pieces appear really white. I re-drew the decoration on the nutcracker's chest with a silver gel pen and re-did his eyes with a black fineliner - they really looked strange in grey. On top of the diamonds on the nutcracker's hat I glued some silver pearls.

I cut the image out with my scissors and adhered him with foam tape to the acetate. Then I also glued some green pearls to the acetate.

 

 Könnt Ihr auf diesem Bild die Tiefe und die verschiedenen Lagen der Karte erkennen? Ich finde den Effekt grandios.

 Sicher  habt Ihr schon die Schleife aus silbernem Glitter-Cardstock am oberen Rand der Karte entdeckt - und auch die Schleifenenden am unteren Rand der Karte. Nun, die ist nicht nur Deko, man kann damit ein weiteres Kärtchen, das hinter einem "doppelten Boden" hinten auf der Karte eingebaut ist, herausziehen.

Und diese Idee habe ich in einem Video von TheGreetery gesehen.  

 

For sure you've already spotted the bow, made from silver glitter cardstock, at the top of the card and also the ribbon ends at the bottom. This is not just decoration, you can pull out a card, that's hidden behind a doubled up layer at the back of the card,  with it.

 Die Schleife ist ebenfalls auf dem Mekka gekauft und aus dem Weihnachts-Countdown Stanzenset von Charlie und Paulchen. Statt der im Set enthaltenen Bandenden habe ich einfach gerade Cardstockstreifen aus dem silbernen Glitter-Cardstock geschnitten und unten Dreiecke herausgeschnitten. 

Die Schleife habe ich mit Polychromos ein wenig schattiert und dann mit 3D Tape zusammengesetzt, so dass sie nicht ebenfalls in die Tasche hinter der Karte mit hineinrutschen kann.

 

The bow I made with a die from another set I bought at Stempelmekka. It's from Weihnachts-Countdown by Charlie und Paulchen. Instead of the ribbon ends that are included in the set I simply cut two strips from the silver glitter cardstock and cut little triangles from the ends.

I shaded the bow with Polychromos and then put it together with foam tape to make sure, it doesn't slide into the pocket at the back of the card, too.

 

 Das Kärtchen hier ist übrigens mit der zweiten Stanze aus dem Set mit dem schnörkeligen Fenster, sie passt perfekt hinter meine Karte. Ich habe sie aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und dann ein olivgrünes Etikett mittig aufgeklebt. Auf das habe ich einen weiteren Text aus dem Wonders of Christmas Set weiß aufembosst und einen Rahmen aus silbernem Glitter-Cardstock aufgeklebt. Das Etikett ist mit dünnem 3D Tape befestigt, so kann man dahinter eine Geschenkkarte stecken.

Und weil ich noch die olivegrünen Schnörkel vom Gestalten meines Rahmens für die Vorderseite übrig hatte, habe ich den kurzerhand als Deko aufgeklebt. Wie schon erwähnt, passen die beiden Fenster nicht genau auf-/zueinander. Aber ich habe einfach ein Stück in der Länger herausgeschnitten und die Enden passten perfekt in die Rundung meines Tickets.

 

I made this little card with the second die from the giftbag window die set, it fits perfectly behind my card. I cut it from black cardstock and then adhered an olive green label onto it. I white heat embossed another text from Wonders of Christmas onto the labe and then glued a frame, cut from silver glitter cardstock, around it. The label I adhered with thin foam tape, this way a giftcard can easily slid behind the labe. 

And since I had these green flourishs left from creating the frame on the outside of my card I simply used it to decorate the small card. As I already mentioned, the pieces don't fit onto each other. I just cut the sides a bit shorter and the rounded ends fit perfectly into the cut out corners of my label.

Die Karte ist während der Hitze Anfang Juli entstanden - und ich brauchte Abkühlung. Also habe ich eine Karte mit einem kühlen Eis-Shake gebastelt, man tut, was man kann, oder?

I made this card during the latest heat wave here in Germany - and I needed some cooling down. So I made a card with an ice shake - we do, what we can, right?

 

Der Hintergrund hat mir hier echt Probleme bereitet - der Shake war relativ schnell fertig. Aber irgendwie passte nichts, und ich wollte farblich eher subtil bleiben. 

Letztendlich habe ich ein Stück hell-türkisen Designpapiers mit kleinen weißen Punkten genommen und mit weißer Stempelfarbe Strahlen aufgewischt. Der Mittelpunkt der Strahlen liegt hier hinter dem Shake. 

Aus helltürkis-farbenem Cardstock habe ich dann Sterne ausgestanzt und mit Distress Oxide Evergreen Bough leicht gewischt. Und weil mir oben immer noch etwas fehlte, habe ich noch die Bunting Border von LawnFawn aus Vellum gestanzt und aufgeklebt.

 

The background really was troubing me here - the shake was done quite quickly. But somehow nothing fit and I wanted to stay subtle in colors for my background.

I finally decided to go with a piece of light aqua patterned paper with small white dots and ink blended some rays onto it using white pigment ink and a rays stencil. The center of those rays is behind the shake.

From light aqua cardstock I die cut some stars and shaded them with Distress Oxide Evergreen Bough. And since I still was missing something in the top of my background I die cut one of the Bunting Boders by LawnFawn from Vellum and glued it down. 

 

 Der Shake ist mit dem Lovely Layers Cupcake and More Stanzenset von HoneyBeeStamps gemacht. Das Glas ist aus hell-türkis farbenem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Distress Ink Salvaged Patina leicht gewicht. Die Füllung habe ich aus einem der Bögen aus dem Gleeful Gradients Paper Pad von LawnFawn gestanzt. Außerdem befindet sich auf dem Glas eine komplette Lage, die ich aus Acetate gestanzt habe. So glänzt es schön.

Gefüllt ist es neben der pinkfarbenen Flüssigkeit noch mit einer großen Kugel rosafarbenen Eises mit einer dicken Sahnehaube darauf. Die ist außerdem mit Schokosauce überzogen und oben stecken eine Kirsche, ein Strohhalm und ein Stück Schokoalde darin.

Unten am Fuß des Glases habe ich noch ein weiteres Stück Schokolade, drei Kirschen und eine Geburtstagskerze verteilt. Die Kerze wollte ich eigentlich in die Sahnehaube stecken, aber so wurde der Shake einfach zu hoch. Also habe ich den Docht schwarz angemalt und die Kerze unten ans Glas gelegt, so als wäre sie bereits ausgepustet und aus dem Shake gezogen worden.

 

The shake I  made with the Lovely Layers Cupcake and More die set by HoneyBeeStamps. 

I cut the glass from light aqua cardstock and shaded it with Distress Ink Salvaged Patina. The liquid I cut from one of the sheets in the Gleeful Gradients paper pad by LawnnFawn. I also put a complete layer cut from acetate onto the glass to make it nice and shiny.

There's not only the pink liquid in the glass, on top there's also a large scoopo of pink ice cream with a large cream puff on top. That's also covered in chocolate sauce and I tucked  a cherry, a paper straw and some chocolate into the cream.

At the bottom of the glass I added another piece of chocolate, three more cherries and a birthday candle. I originally wanted to put that into the cream as well, but that would have made the whole shake too tall for my glass. So I colored the candle wick black and laid the candle next to the glass like as if it was lit up and blown out already and then taken out of the cream.

 

 Die pinkfarbenen Lagen habe ich mit Picked Raspberry schattiert und auf den Strohhalm mit Lumberjack Plaid Streifen aufgewischt. Die Schokolade und die Kirschen sind mit Ground Espresso schattiert, die Sahne ganz leicht mit Lost Shadow. Auf die Schokosauce, die ich aus braunem Cardstock gestanzt habe, habe ich dann eine Schicht Glossy Accents aufgetragen und nach dem Trocknen pinkfarbene und rote Streusel darauf verteilt. 

 

I shaded the pink layer with Picked Raspberry and added some stripes to the paper straw using Lumberjack Plaid. To shade the chocolate and the cherries I used Ground Espresso, for the cream I applied some Lost Shadow very softly. I covered the chocolat drizzle, that I cut from dark brown cardstock, with Glossy Accents and after it had dried glued some red and pink sprinkles onto it.

 

 Den Text habe ich unten quer über den Shake geklebt.

Das Wort Sweet habe ich mit einer Stanze von MFT gemacht - die Schattenlage aus Vellum, das Wort an sich sechsmal aus weißem und einmal aus braunem Cardstock. Ich habe jeweils drei der weißen Worte aufeinander geklebt und diese dann hinter und auf das Vellum geklebt. 

Aus dem braunen Cardstock habe ich nur die oberen Teile jedes Buchstabens abgeschnitten und diese dann auf das Wort sweet geklebt. Auch diese braune Lage habe ich mit Glossy Accents überzogen, so dass es so aussieht, als befände sich auch auf dem Wort Schokosauce. 

Der Rest des Textes ist mit Stempeln aus den Sets Itty Bitty Birthday und Itty Bitty Holiday von MFT gemacht und weiß auf braunen Cardstock embosst.  

 

The text I adhered across the shake.

I used a die by MFT to cut the word sweet - the shadow layer from vellum, the word itself six times from white and one time from brown cardstock. I stacked three each of the white words and glued them behind and on top of the velllum. 

From the brown cardstock I cut off just the top of the letters and glued them onto the top white layer, then covered those small pieces with Glossy Accents. Now it looks like also the die cut word is covered with chocolate sauce.

The rest of the text is made using stamps from Itty Bitty Birthday and Itty Birthday Holiday by MFT, white heat embossed onto brown cardstock.

 

 Ich habe den Shake und die Textteile mit dünnem 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt und als Deko einige rosafarbene Perlen verteilt. Außerdem habe ich mit einem weißen Gelstift einen Rahmen aufgemalt. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I adhered the shake and the text to the background with thin foam tape, then added a few light pink pearls as decoration. I also drew a frame with a white gel pen.

Then I attached the card panel to a white note card.

 

Bloom with Happiness

Eigentlich verbindet man mit Sonnenblumen ja eher den Herbst, aber auf dem Weg zu/von der Arbeit fahre ich momentan an einigen leuchtenden Sonnenblumenfeldern vorbei. Und die waren dann auch die Inspiration für meine heutige Karte.

Usually we have fall in mind when we think of sunflowers. But on my way to/from work I am passing a few bright sunflower fields right now. And those were the inspireation for today's card.

 

Das Sunflower Garden Stempelset von SimonSaysStamp hatte es mir schon länger angetan, der Stempel ist einfach wundervoll. Und zudem riesig - auf meine normal große Karte hat er bei bestem Willen nicht komplett gepasst. Aber so kann man mit dem selben Motiv, je nach Wahl des Ausschnitts, immer unterschiedliche Karten designen (oder mit einem gestempelten Motiv gleich zwei Karten füllen). 

Ich habe hier einen Ausschnitt des Motivs auf ein Stück weißen Cardstocks gestempelt - und da ich in No-Line Technik colorieren wollte dafür das Jellyfish Stempelkissen von LawnFawn benutzt.

 

I have been eyeing with the Sunflower Garden stamp set by SimonSaysStamp for quite some time, it's such an amazing image. And also gigantic - it will never fit completly onto a regular sized card. But this way you can create differently looking cards with the same image, depending on what portion of the image you use (or even fill two cards with just one stamped image).

I picked a part of the image and stamped it onto white cardstock, using the Jellyfish ink pad by LawnFawn because I wanted to do some no-line coloring.

 

 Auf eine der Blumen habe ich noch eine kleine dicke Biene aus dem Bee You Stempelset von ColoradoCraft gestempelt - ebenfalls mit dem Jellyfish Stempelkissen. 

Zum Colorieren habe ich dann Copics verwendet und ganz zum Schluss einige feinere Details/Linien mit Polychromos hinzugefügt. Auch den Hintergrund habe ich mit hellblauen Copics eingefärbt - weiß war mir irgendwie zu langweilig. 

Nach dem Colorieren habe ich über den Cardstock ganz fein und eher sparsam weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.  

 

I stamped a little chunky bee from Bee You by ColoradoCraft onto one of the sunflowers - again using the Jellyfish ink pad.

To color the image I used my Copics and brought in some Polychromos at the very end to add some fine details/lines. I also filled the background with a light blue Copic - white just looked too plain and boring to me.

After I had finished the coloring I added - not too much - fine splatter of white acrylic paint.

 

 Für den Text habe ich ein "bloom" samt Shadow Layer aus dem Great Greetings Spring Stanzenset von HoneyBeeStamps verwendet. Die Schattenlage ist aus Vellum gestanzt, das Wort Bloom habe ich sechsmal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Je 3 davon befinden sich hinter und auf dem Vellum.

Ergänzt wird der Text durch ein winziges "with happiness", das ich mit schwarzer Tinte direkt auf das Motiv gestempelt habe. Ich gebe zu, es ist etwas schwer sichtbar, auch weil es so klein ist. Es ist ein Teile eines Textes aus dem Sunflower Garden Stempelset. Aber ich wollte so wenig wie möglich des Motivs verdecken.

 

For the text I die cut the word "bloom" and its shadow layer from Great Greetings Spring by HoneyBeeStamps. The shadow layer I cut from vellum, the word bloom I cut six times from white cardstock. Three each are stacked under and on top of  the vellum. I completed the text with a tiny "with happiness", that I stamped with black ink directly onto the image. I have to admit, that it's really hard to see, also because it is so small. It's part of a larger/longer text from the Sunflower Garden Set. I really wanted to cover as little of the image as possible.

 

Auf die oberen Enden des Wortes Bloom sowie die Flügel der Biene habe ich Stickles aufgetragen, die Flügel und das Auge der Biene habe ich außerdem mit Glossy Accents überzogen.

Als Deko habe ich drei kleine weiße Herzn auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I applied Stickles to the top edge of the word bloom and the bee's wings, her wings and eye I also covered with Glossy Accents. 

I glued three white clay hearts onto the image and then adhered the card panel to a white note card.

Guten Freunden sollte man auch hin und wieder sagen, wie froh man über sie ist! Ich habe dafür diese Karte im Postage-Look gestaltet. Und sie ist dann doch bunter ausgefallen als geplant. Aber es ist ja auch ein fröhlicher Anlass.

Every now and then you should tell your friends how grateful you are for them. That's what I made this card in a postage look for. It turned out more colorful than planned. But it's a happy reason to give out a card, so that's a fit.

 

Nichol Spohr hatte im Februar mal eine Postage Collage Karte mit kraftfarbenem Cardstock gemacht, das wollte ich unbedingt auch ausprobieren.

Also habe ich die Briefmarken mit der Postage Collage Stanze aus eben solchem Cardstock gestanzt und dann die Postage Collage Blocks Stencil aufgelegt. Durch die habe ich dann weiße Pigment-Tinte aufgetupft. So heben sich die einzelnen Bereiche etwas ab und die Farben der aufgestencilten Motive sind leuchtender.

 

Nichol Spohr has made a postage collage card from craft cardstock back in february, and I really wanted to give that a try.

So I die cut the Postage Collage die from craft cardstock and put the Postage Collage Blocks stencil on top. Through the openeings I dabbed on some white pigment ink. This way the individual blocks are better visible and the colors of the stenciled on elements turn out brighter.

 

 Die Blocks Stencil habe ich während aller weiterer Schritte auf meinen Briefmarken liegen lassen und dann das Postage Collage Lucky Trio Stencilset benutzt, um die Motive aufzubringen. 

Zum Aufwischen der Motive habe ich Distress Oxide Victorian Velvet, Aged Mahogany, Lucky Clover und Rustic Wilderness benutzt. Die goldenen Elemente sind mit goldener, die weißen mit weißer Stencil Paste aufgetragen. Für die Details auf den Münzen oben links und dem Hufeisen unten rechts habe ich dann noch Distress Ink Vintage Photo auf die getrocknete Paste aufgetragen. 

I kept the Blocks stencil in place for all the other stenciling I did and then used the Postage Collage Lucky Trio stencil set to add the images.

To stencil on the images I used Distress Oxide Victorian Velvet, Aged Mahogany, Lucky Clover and Rustic Wilderness. The gold elements I added with gold, the white ones with white stencil paste. For the details on the coins in the top left and the horseshoe in the bottom right I used Distress Ink Vintage Photo and applied it after the paste had dried.

 

 Die Details auf den kleinen Kleeblättern sind mit einem weißen Gelstift gemacht.

Mit graubrauner Tinte habe ich dann noch Werte und diverse Poststempel aus den Sets Postage Collage for Fall und Postage Collage - natürlich alles von WaffleFlower - auf die  Briefmarken aufgestempelt. Der Platz dafür war etwas knapp, denn über die Paste konnte ich natürlich nicht stempeln...

 

The details on the small clovers are made with a white gel pen.

Using grey brown ink I stamped some values and cancelation marks from the sets Postage Collage for Fall and Postage Collage- of course all of these products are by WaffleFlower - onto the stamps. It was a bit tricky to find a space for those because I wasn't able to stamp onto the stencil paste...

 

 Mittig auf meinen Briefmarkenbogen habe ich den Text  meiner Karte platziert.

Das Lucky ist aus dem Set Lovely Layers Playing Cards von HoneyBeeStamps. Ich habe das Wort dreimal aus weißem Cardstock und einmal aus goldenem Spiegelcardstock gestanzt und dann alles auf der Shadow Layer, die ich aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt habe, angebracht.

 Als Deko habe ich aus dem goldenen Spiegelcardstock einige Kleeblätter aus dem Set Lucky Clovers von LawnFawn gestanzt und unter das gestanzte Lucky geschoben. Eigentlich wollte ich die aus Vellum stanzen, so sind sie aber untergegangen. Da ich sie aber schon gestanzt hatte, habe ich diese Vellum-Lagen einfach ein wenig versetzt hinter die goldenen Kleeblätter geklebt.

Der Rest des Textes ist aus dem Set Reveal Wheel Sentiments Friends and Family von LawnFawn. Ich habe sie weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst.

 

Onto the center of my postage stamp sheet I placed my text.

The lucky is from  the Lovely Layers Playing Cards set by HoneyBeeStamps.  I die cut the word three times from white cardstock and once from gold mirror cardstock and then stacked the words onto the shadow layer that I cut from black cardstock. 

As decoration I cut some clovers from gold mirror cardstock using the Lucky Clovers die by LawnFawn, then tucked them under the die cut lucky. I had planned to make those from vellum, but they got lost on the card. Since I had already die cut them I simply glued them a bit offset behind the gold clovers. 

The rest of the text is from Reveal Wheel Sentiments Friends and Family by LawnFawn. I white heat embossed it onto black cardstock.

 

 Die Textstreifen  habe ich it dünnem, das Wort Lucky mit dickem 3D Tape auf meinen Briefmarkenbogen geklebt. Den habe ich dann ebenfalls mit 3D Tape auf schwarzen Cardstock geklebt. Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling angebracht.

 

 I adhered the text  strips with thin, the die cut word lucky with thick foam tape to the postage stamp sheet. Then I used foam tape again to glued that onto some black cardstock.

To finish this card I adhered the matted postage stamp sheet to a white card base.

Ich liebe die Lovely Layers Sets von HoneyBeeStamps. Im Januar kam das Playing Cards Set heraus - und das musste ich haben. Nicht, weil ich mich mit Kartenspiel irgendwie auskenne oder so. Aber ich finde, es ist mal etwas anderes und auch für Männerkarten gut. Hier kam es das erste Mal zum Einsatz.

I love the Lovely Layers sets by HoneyBeeStamps. In january they released the Playing Cards set - and I had to have it. Not because I know anything about card games. But it's something different and also great for men cards. Here I used it for the first time.

 

Ich habe hier eine Encouragement Karte gemacht - und dafür will mir irgendwie nicht das passende deutsche Wort einfallen. Aufmunterung? Ermunterung? Anfeuerung? Irgendwie klingt das alles falsch. Also benutze ich den englischen Begriff.

Ebenfalls im Januar kam auch Spellbinders mit karten-bezogenen Sets heraus. Manchmal wirklich lustig, wie mehrere Themen unabhängig voneinender das gleiche Thema aufgreifen. Auf jeden Fall  war dort die Deluxe Deck Pressplate im Release - ein Hintergrund, der wie die Rückseite einer Spielkarte aussieht. Ich habe zwar keine BetterPress, aber zum Folieren ist sie allemal geeignet. Ich habe hier ewas anderes versucht: ich habe sie mit Versafine Clair Sand Dune "eingefärbt" und sie dann durch meine Big Shot gedreht, aus der ich den Tab Nr. 2 herausgenommen habe. So habe ich zwar nicht den eingeprägten Effekt, aber dafür einen astreinen "Stempelabdruck". 

Ich habe den Hintergrund ausgeschnitten und dann goldene Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt.

Also in january Spellbinders release some playing card related products. It's funny how sometimes different brands come up with the same theme for their releases. That release by Spellbinders contained the Deluxe Deck Pressplate - a background, that looks like the back of a playing card. I don't have a Betterpress system, but I knew it would be great for foiling. Here I tried something different. I covered the plate with Versafine Clair Sand Dune and then ran it through my Big Shot, from which I had removed the tab #2. Of course I didn't get the pressed in effect but ended up with a perfectly "stamped image". 

I cut the background out and then splattered some gold metallic watercolor onto it.

 

 Die Spielkarten habe ich aus cremefarbenem, die Aufleger aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und auf beides mit einem schwarzen Fineliner einen Rahmen aufgemalt.

Dekoriert habe ich die Karten dann in schwarz und gold. Selbst ich verstehe so viel von Spielkarten, dass mir klar ist, dass meine Deko nicht realistisch ist. Aber ich wollte unbedingt die Kronen auf die Damen- und Königskarte kleben. Und dann sollten auch Bube und Ass etwas Deko bekommen. Die goldenen Elemente sind aus mattem und glänzendem Metallic-Cardstock gemacht.

Ich habe die Karten aufgefächert zusammengeklebt und sie dann in die Hand gesteckt. Die habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. 

 

I cut the playing cards from cream, the smaller pieces on them from white cardstock and drew a frame onto each piece using a black fineliner.

I decorated the cars in black and gold. Even I know enough about playing cards to know that my decoration isn't very true to original cards. I really wanted to add the crowns to the queen and king and thought, also the jack and ass deserve some decoration. I die cut the gold elements from both matte and shiny metallic cardstock.

I fanned out the cards, glued them together and put them into the hand. I die cut that from white cardstock and colored it with Copics.

 

 Für den Text habe ich Stempelsets von MFT benutzt. Das "you've got this" ist aus dem Set Stars Above, "go all in" habe ich aus verschiedenen Stempeln aus dem Set All About You zusammengesetzt. Die Texte sind mit weißem Embossingpulver auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. 

Um den Arm der Hand habe ich noch Armbänder aus Buchstaben-Perlen geklebt, die viel Glück wünschen. 

For the text I used stamp sets  by MFT. The "you've got this" is from Stars Above, "go all in" I put together using stamps from All About You. 

The texts are white heat embossed onto black cardstock.

I used letter pearls to create some armbands around the wrist of the hand, making them say "good luck". 

 

 Die Karten und Texte sind mit dickem, die Hand mit dünnem 3D Tape hinterlegt. Den Arm habe ich direkt auf den Hintergrund geklebt. 

Ich habe alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt und die Ecken passend zu den Ecken des Spielkartenhintergrunds abgerundet.

 

I backed the cards and texts with thick, the hand with thin foam tape. The arm I attached directly onto the background.

I glued the card panel to a white note card and rounded its edges making it match the playing card background.

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Habt Ihr auch so Tage, an denen Ihr unbedingt basteln möchtet, aber nicht wirklich viel Zeit dafür habt? So einen Tag hatte ich vor kurzem - und dass ich ein ziemlich langsamer Bastler bin (ich kann mich ewig in kleinen Details verlieren) hilft der Sache nicht unbedingt. Ich habe mich trotzdem hingesetzt und in gerade mal 2 Stunden diese einfache Frühlingskarte mit Huhn gemacht.

Do you have days, when you really want to sit down and craft but don't really have much time for it? I had such a day a little ago - and that I'm a quite slow crafter (I can get lost in details) doesn't help my case either. I sat down at my craft table anyways and made this quite simple spring card with a hen in a bit under two hours.

Im Hintergrund befindet sich ein Stück Watercolor Cardstock, auf den ich oben per Ink Smooshing mit Distress Ink Tumbled Glass einen blauen Himmel angedeutet habe. 

Anschließend habe ich hell-türkisfarbene Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt und den Cardstock nach dem Trocknen mit einer der Rectangle Stitch Stanzen von Stampcorner rechteckig ausgestanzt.

In the backgound there's a piece of watercolor cardstock. I did some ink smooshing with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass to indicate a blue sky in the top center. 

Then I splattered some light aqua metallic watercolor onto the cardsdtock and cut it out with one of the Rectangle Stitch dies by Stampcorner.

Bei meinem Besuch im Laden von CreativeDepot bin ich über dieses geniale Huhn mit Gummistiefeln - passenderweise heißt die Stanze Verrücktes Huhn - gestolpert und war sofort verliebt. Hier durfte es zum Einsatz kommen.

Ich habe das Huhn und den Sonnenschirm - er ist aus dem Stitched Umbrellas Set von Poppystamps - aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und habe die Teile dann mit Copics coloriert. Der Griff des Regenschirms zeigt eigentlich in die andere Richtung. Da ich die Stange sowieso etwas kürzen wollte, habe ich sie unterhalb des  Schirm-Oberteils abgeschnitten und aufs Gesicht gedreht. So blieben die gestitchten Details im oberen Teil des Schirms erhalten und der Griff zeigt in die andere Richtung. Ich habe den oberen Teil des Schirms etwas tiefer wieder an die Stange geklebt.

Auf den Körper des Huhns habe ich einige Punkte mit braunem Fineliner gemalt und außerdem die eingeprägten Details am Hals mit einem weißen Gelstift nachgemalt. 

Das Huhn steht auf Gras, das ich mit einer Stanze von Leane CreaTief gemacht habe. Es besteht aus zwei identischen und leicht überlappend aufeinander geklebten Stücken. 

Außerdem habe ich mit einer Stanze aus dem Stitched Strawberry Frame von LawnFawn winzige Blümchen - eigentlich sind es Blütenmitten - aus korallefarbenem Cardstock gestanzt. Eine davon habe ich der Henne hinter das - nicht vorhanden - Ohr geklemmt. 

Aus weißem Cardstock habe ich außerdem noch einige kleine Wolken ausgestanzt.

When I visited the store by CreativeDepot I came across this amazing hen with rubber boots - the die is named "verrücktes Huhn", crazy hen - and fell in love with it immediately. 

I die cut the hen and umbrella - it's from the Stitched Umbrellas set by Poppystamps - from white cardstock and colored the pieces with Copics. The handle of the umbrella originally faces the other direction. Since I wanted to make the rod a bit shorter anyways, I cut the upper part of the umbrella off and turned the rod and handle on their face. This way I was able to keep the stitched details on the umbrella top and turn the handle. I  simply adhered the rod to  the umbrella top again, moving the rod a bit up.

I used a brown fineliner to add some dots to the hen's ody and also re-drew the details the die cuts into the paper on the neck and head with a white gel pen.

The hen is standing on some grass, that I cut using a die by Leane CreaTief. It's put together from two identical pieces, that I glued together a bit overlapping.

I also used  a die from Stitched Strawberry Frames by LawnFawn to cut some tiny flowers - actually they are flower centers - from coralle cardstock. One of them I tucked behind the - non existent - ear of the hen.

From white cardstock I cut some small clouds.

Der Text ist mit Stempeln aus dem Spring Stempelset von HoneyBeeStamps gemacht. 

Das große Wort "spring" habe ich erst mit Versafine Clair Bali Blue auf hellblauen Cardstock gestanzt und dann klares Embossingpulver darüber gestreut. Dann habe ich das Wort mit etwas Abstand zu den gestempelten Linien ausgeschnitten.

Das "is here" darunter ist mit Versafine Vintage Sepia direkt auf den Watercolor Cardstock gestempelt.

 

The text is made using the Spring stamp set by HoneyBeeStamps.

The large word "spring" I stamped onto light blue cardstock using Versafine Clair Bali Blue and then covered it with clear embossing powder. Then I cut the word out with my scissors.

The "is here" underneath I stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia directly onto the watercolor cardstock.

 

 Anschließend habe ich alle Teile auf dem Hintergrund arrangiert. Das Huhn und das Wort Spring sind mit dünnem, der Oberteil des Regenschirms mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt. Als Deko habe ich noch drei rote Herzen auf der Karte verteilt.

Zum Schluss habe ich den Kartenaufleger, der um einiges kleiner als der Kartenrohling ist, mit 3D Tape auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt. Durch das 3D Tape wirkt das viele Weiß nicht zu flach.

Then I arragend all pieces on the background. I backed the hen and word spring with thin, the top of the umbrella with thick foam tape. Then I added three little red hearts as decoration.

I used foam tape again to adhere the card panel, that's quite smaller than the note card, to a white card base. The foam tape makes sure, the card doesn't look too flat, even with all the white.
