Just Magic.....

It's Wednesday and time for our latest sketch challenge at Outlawz.

This month we have no sponsor so it means I get to play with images I already have :D

I've got quite a few printed, as I was looking through I found this image called Violet Pixie from Sarah Burrier (sadly no longer available from what I can tell).  The shape of her wings made me thing about the sketch flipped on its side.

I coloured her with Copics and then had a chat with Sandra about my "way outness" for the sketch LOL!  We decided it was good because the sketch is the inspiration  and it gives a different perspective on what can be done.

So..... this is our sketch for the month which I've flipped on its side.  The wings are the banner and I've got her a moon as well for the circle.

I decided to fussy cut the image because I wasn't happy with a single layer card which is what I was going with at first.  I found the "moon" which is a geli plate print I did ages ago, using inks and a flower stencil (I so need to get my geli plate back out again).

As I was shuffling through papers I just sat her and the "moon" onto a sheet of black paper.  She was so striking on this I couldn't get any design papers that has the same effect.  So I made my own star background by scattering embossing enamel onto the black card.

I have selected on pice of green design paper from Lemoncraft to go with the greeny theme.  Finally I added a sentiment to the moon using stickers form Tim Holtz.

I so love how this came out :D

Bit of a Green Thing Going on....

 Today is our new challenge day at All Dressed Up in the Facebook Group.

This month we'd love to see your layered cards.

I've chosen to use Christmas Tree Fairy for my inspiration, which I've coloured with Copics and a white acrylic pen.

I've lots of layers here with lots of design papers from First Edition, Lemoncraft, some scraps and black card.

Very unusual for me on this style of card, there are no embellies at all - what happened to me LOL!!

Christmas Sparkle....

Today is our Facebook Challenge day at All Dressed Up.  the theme for this month is Gems / Sparkle / Shine.

I've chosen to use All Dressed Up for Christmas for my inspiration, she's one of my favourites!  You can find her here in Wendy's shop.

I've coloured her with Copics giving her a fairy green glow.  I've sprinkled some embossing enamel around to add to a starry background.

I've used recycled some cardboard for the base cutting it with a die and then layered up the glitter paper and hand cut image.

I've added a tiny silver star to the sky and then used a selection of ribbons from my stash.

Flutter Away

Today is new release inspiration day at All Dressed Up.  I'm using the totally adorable Flutter Away image, you can fin it here in Wendy's shop.

I've coloured the image with Copics and used white, red and yellow gel pens.

The sentiment is made up from Tim Holtz Sticker.

The design paper is from First Edition and I've added a few white gems for interest.

Wishing for Summer

It's the 1st of the month and time for our new challenge at All Dressed Up in the Facebook Group.

This time we'd like to see your cards with embellishments, these can be as much or as little as you like.

For my inspiration I'm using Flower Dreams, you can find her in Wendy's shop here.

The image has been coloured with Copics and then I've cut her out using Spellbinders die and then matter her onto a doily.  My design papers are from Lemoncraft, I've distressed these with a paper distressing tool.

Here's close up of the flowers I've used for my embellishments, I've also added some crafting fabric gauze and a few silver dragonfly charms. 

In this angle you can see flowers and the 3-d effect on the card.  You can also see a close up of the stitched border I sketched onto the design papers.

I've coloured the image with Copics trying to get a very soft look.  i've then hand cut the oval and mounted it onto some design paper cut with a Spellbinders die.

I've added a sentiment using Tim Holtz stickers and a couple of paper daisies.

Conversation

When I was young my uncle used to draw pictures of the man in the moon.  This is what's partly inspired my to draw this image :)

When I'd finished her, I kind of thought she looked like she was sitting there having a chat with him, hence the image name, Conversation.

I absolutely love colouring night sky's, they're one of my favourites but also very messy and I nearly always get covered in blue ink!

I've created a single layered card.  There's plenty of embossing enamel scattered for a starry background.

The only thing I've added is a tiny silver star charm.

Lily Pad Fairy

It's time for our second lot of new release inspiration at All Dressed Up.

Today I'm using Lily Pad Fairy, you can find her here.

The image had been coloured with Copics.

I've added a strip of design paper from First Edition in marching colours, I've also used a strip of black card.  I made a smidge at the top of the card by accident so I covered that up with a couple of tiny silver dragonfly charms :)

Fairy Mice

It's our second lot of inspiration at All Dressed Up for Wendy's latest new release images.

Today I'm sharing my creation using Two Little Fairy Mice with you, aren't they adorable!

I've coloured the image with Copics leaving plenty of white space.

Over the bottom of the card I've added a strip of design paper from First Edition.

There are several sequins and gem stones in purple to match the image and paper.  I've added a wood chip heat embellishment from Scrapiniec.

The section of ribbon between the design paper and image is one of those annoying ribbons you get in your clothes which are "supposed" to help hang them up ;)

Little blue fairy girl

New month and a new sponsor at Outlawz Sketch, this month we're using Sherry West's images :)

For my inspiration I'm using Garden Girl, you can find her here.

I've coloured her with Copics, then fussy cut her out and added some DecoArt glitter to her wings.

Behind the image you can see a circular chip board embellishment from Scrapiniec.  I've also added a few tiny silver star charms.

Here's our sketch for the next two weeks.

My design papers are from 13 Arts and I've also used some black card.

The sentiment was made from blue glitter paper and a Sizzix die.

A few of my favourite things

Today the December Facebook Challenge goes live at All Dressed Up, our theme for this month is YOUR FAVOURITE THINGS.  This means it's pretty much anything you want! (as long as you're using an All Dressed Up image)

We're also first up on the Kit & Clowder Advent Calendar events and this is the freebie image.  that's part of the reason I've chosen to use it.

This image is called Christmas Baubles.

I have so many favourite it was hard to pick what to do.  This was what I went with in the end,  colouring with Copics in monochrome with a pop of pink,  using a fairy image.  At the moment I'm also loving using embossing enamel and sparkles!

I've used some silver glitter paper from Hobby Craft, a silver glittery start which you can find in their wedding section and a sparkle sentiment from Make It Crafty coloured with black and grey Copics and then coated with DecoArt glitter to add more sparkles, unfortunately it was hard to photograph that bit!

Pollen Fairy

I have a love of bees, my outdoor pots at home have lots plants in them just for them!  That's what inspired me to create this image called Pollen Fairy.

You can find it here in my Etsy shop where you can get 10% off all my images by quoting SKIANDREA10 at checkout.

The image was printed large and coloured with Copics to showcase it.

The edges of the image and the black card framing it were distressed with a Tonic Solutions tool.

All I've added is DecoArt glitter to the fairies dress and shoes and a sentiment made up from Tim Holtz stickers.

First Christmas Tag

We've our new challenge starting today at All Dressed Up in the Facebook group.  Our theme for August is Fantasy / Wings.

For my inspiration today I'm using Christmas Present, you can find it here in Wendy's shop.

I've coloured her in traditional Christmas colours with Copics.  I've decided to make her into a tag.

I drew round the inside of the tag die I had then cut the image out.  The edges have been distressed with Tim Holtz Peeled Paint ink and a Tonic Solutions tool.

I've then cut some green glittery paper out with the die.

Added to this are a few red flowers, silver star charms and a wooden Merry Christmas sentiment coloured with Copic.

Copic on Kraft

For my latest inspiration for the Outlawz Sketch challenge I'm using papers from our sponsor WeAre3 called Little Garden, I thought the combination went well using the pink and yellow papers with the image I'm using.

This little cute fairy was coloured on Kraft at one of my Copic colouring classes with Faye, it's one of the techniques she teaches :)
I've fussy cut her to add to the project and made her wings a little sparkly.

I've used two Spellbinders dies to cut the circles behind the image and distressed all my papers with a Tonic Solutions tool.

The ribbon and flowers (my only embellishments) were bought from The Ribbon Girl a while ago.

A Favourite Sketch

For December at Outlawz Sketch we're picking our favourite sketches.

For my inspiration for you today I'm sharing an image I've coloured by Molly Harrison.  The background and fairy colouring are from a Kit & Clowder monthly colouring class for Copic Markers.  I'm learning all the time and improving so much with the help of the lovely Alyce's classes.  You can find them in the link here

So as I've said I've coloured this with Copics.  In the class Alyce takes you through creating a cloud stencil and how to apply this to your background.  I've also used a black polychromos pencil and a white gel pen.

I love being able to colour images like this and then showcase them.  The sketch I've chosen is perfect for this.

We're all picking our favourite sketches so you will have seven sketches to choose from this week.

I've used black card for framing.  My design paper is from Hobbycraft called Watercolour Dreams.  I've used some black card for the banners which were cut suing a Fantasy Die.  At the top of the banners are some purple gems.

I've skipped the middle section from the sketch and used black ric-rak ribbon down the sides of the image which I got from The Ribbon Girl.

The sentiment is from Make It Crafty and has been colour with Copics as well.
