Custom Star Wars Plates Made Through Shutterfly

A few months back, I took one of my drawings (non-toy related) and had them put on plastic plates on the photo service Shutterfly. They came out great. The plates were 10 inches, sturdy plastic, and dishwasher safe. I thought, hmmmm, wouldn't it be fun to put some toy dioramas onto plates as well.

I had some old photos that weren't the greatest in terms of composition, but at the time, I had no idea where my Cantina Set and Land of the Jawas playsets were so I couldn't reshoot them. I also realized many of the Hoth Rebel troopers weren't holding weapons. This was kind of a test, so I just used what I had. They came out great. So much fun.

The Artist Known as Shag - Awesome Pop Culture Art

I don't typically post about other people's work, but I've become an instant fan.

I recently had a friend post on Instagram a piece of art from Shag (Josh Agle). I've never heard of this guy but immediately got interested. I like the bright colors, architectural design and outfits of the 60s which is Shag's primary focus. As I dove into all I could find, I noticed he did quite a few paintings which included pop culture - Star Wars, Spider-Man, and Universal Monsters. He is also selling a Batman 1966 print at SDCC this week.

Here are his links and some works of art. Check him out. By the way, he had the nickname prior to the Austin Powers movies. These links are not going to inappropriate sites.

Bob Ross Collection

I remember famous artist Bob Ross on television when I was growing up.  I swear it was during the 70s but his show ran from 1984-1995.  I also recently watched the Bob Ross documentary on Netflix which was really good.

Anyway, the guy at the cubicle at work next to me had a mini Bob Ross bobblehead that someone gave him. Then I brought in the mini-figure Toybox gave me a few weeks back. So we started a Bob Ross shrine. Now, everyone who walks by either smiles or looks at us like we're crazy. Hey, gotta make work fun.

If anyone comes across any Bob Ross collectibles, let me know.
