Expecto Patromum - Popco Harry Potter Scene

While my daughter was home from college this summer, we watched all the Harry Potter movies. I really like the Dementors, so I grabbed a few more Popco Dementor figures and recreated this scene with Harry and Sirius Black.

Popco Harry Potter Knight Bus Carrying Case

I finally took pictures of this clever carrying case for the Popco Harry Potter figures. Unfortunately, Popco went out of business, or were acquired. Harry Potter has a world as diverse as Star Wars. Would have been great to see more figures from this great company.

Popco Harry Potter Gryffindor Common Room

 I had purchased the loose Gryffindor Room playset awhile ago. I just managed to pull it out and take some pictures. Not sure if it had all the pieces. Seems to have most of the furniture. Anyway - it was fun to set up and get out the Popco Harry Potter figures. Wish they would have sold these in the US. 

Popco Toys Harry Potter - Fenrir Greyback

Another addition to the Harry Potter Popco collection. This is bad guy Fenrir Greyback. He comes with a pink wand which I couldn't get into his hands. Once again, that's me being paranoid about breaking something the second there is some friction and resistance. 

Popco Toys Harry Potter Harry and Ron Quidditch Players

Think this is the last pack of Popco Harry Potter figures I'll grab. May be the last one I need. This is Harry and Ron in Quidditch outfits. Cool set. Sad this line came to a quick end. They really made some nice stuff.

 

Popco Harry Potter Dolores Umbridge

Probably the most evil woman in pink ever created in a story. Dolores Umbridge is a nasty teacher trying to take over Hogwarts in Harry Potter - Order of the Phoenix. Played brilliantly by Imelda Staunton, she ranks right up there with Darth Vader and the Terminator. This is probably the last Popco Harry Potter figure I will by for awhile. Think I have most of them at this point. She was a hard one to find. Sad the line ended. Popco Harry Potter Collection

Years ago as my daughter first started getting into Harry Potter, I searched the net for the toys. I remember seeing them when the movies first came out but they were very kid focused and designed. I did stumble on some very cool, 3-3/4 scale figures that were never released in the US, only the UK.  So I purchased a few of them. They sat in a storage box for awhile until I purchased the three story bus a year or so ago. I threw the figures in there and unearthed them finally to take some pictures of the whole collection.

Wish they would have made more. Blake Wright added a section about the Popco Toy Company and their Harry Potter line in his Toys That Time Forgot Volume 2 book. Sad ending. So much character depth. And the US market would have eaten it up.

The Cho Chen and Ginny Weasley figures came with the Room of Requirements and Gryffindor Common Room playsets which I sold off later. Professor McGonegall came with the Great Hall playset which I still have.
