NECA Pacific Rim Kaiju Series 3 - THESE ARE BIG

NECA's Pacific Rim figures sold out almost instantly when Series 1 was released which included the Kaiju (Monster) Knifehead. By Series 3, NECA decided to scale up the Kaiju monsters. I was caught by surprise twice.

First, when they re-released Knifehead, I didn't realize it would be so BIG.

Second, for some crazy reason, I didn't realize NECA was releasing both Kaiju's at that scale. Know idea why I was clueless. Anyway, I saw and bought the Knifehead first last week - that's all they had. Then, this weekend they (Toys R Us) restocked and had Trespasser. He was BIG as well.

Looking forward to taking these out of the package and setting them up against their tiny human driving robot adversaries.

NECA Pacific Rim Series 3

I finally saw Pacific Rim when it came out on DVD/Blue-Ray months ago. It was better than I expected and I am hoping for a sequal. NECA just released Series 3 of the Jaegers (robot fighters). The Kaiju monsters haven't appeared yet on toy store shelves.

Series 3 includes Coyote Tango and Cherno Alpha. Pretty cool looking battle bots. If I ever pick up the Kaiju, I think it is time to build a diorama. Cherno Alpha looks kind of ....interesting....but cool, nonetheless.

Unpackaged the Series 2 set and the Series 1 Knifehead. Nice detailing. The Kaiju monsters are heavy,...definitely have some mass to them.

NECA Pacific Rim Series 2 and Series 1 Knifehead

Finally had the opportunity to watch Pacific Rim. What an awesome movie. Takes me back to those Godzilla movies when I was a kid.

NECA's Series 1 sold out quickly. I was happy to pick up Series 2 from Big Bad Toy Store. A day or two after I placed my order, they were sold out across the board.

Series 2 includes Gipsy Danger (battle damaged), Eureka Stryker and Leatherhead. Leatherhead is a massive, huge toy. Awesome quality, to be expected from NECA. I also ordered a Series 1 Knifehead via Amazon for list price.  Series 1 Gipsy and Crimson Dynamo run around $50 on the secondary market these days. Will have to wait to see if Dynamo drops.

Gipsy-Knifehead two packs are on their way so it should be easy to "make up" the Series 1 Gipsy with that.
