hApPy NeW yEaR - Here Comes The Year of....the 80s!

What a crazy year 2020 was. There was a YouTube video I often watched to cheer me up when things were really crazy. 

Waiting for a Star to Fall - A Tribute to 80s Entertainment

I've probably watched this video 100 times in the last six months. 

Anyway, that inspired me to make my focus for 2021 action figures that are featured in 80s movies, television, music, etc.  The figures didn't have to be made then. In fact, I prefer the realistic NECA style 6 inch figures for this project. 

I gathered what I have so far. 

I have plenty of Star Wars that would fit in this. Some figures I am keeping an eye out for to fill out this project - Christopher Reeves Superman, Michael Keaton Batman, Flash Gordon, Robocop, Conan, and Ghostbusters. There's probably more. Will be fun to see what I come up with.

NECA Sarah Conner - Terminator 2 - Judgment Day

"Anyone not wearing a million sun screen is going to have a really bad day!"

This from warrior Sarah Conner, in Terminator 2: Judgment Day from way back in 1991,...much different from the naive, weak, waitress we saw in the first Terminator.

Preparing for the apocalypse, Sarah Connor preps herself mentally and physically. In Terminator 2, after breaking out of prison, she goes after the scientist, Miles Dyson, who creates the Artificial Intelligence that creates the domino effect that leads to the terminators and the end of mankind.

This is a new sculpt and set done by NECA. Definitely one bad ass warrior. The only thing missing from the Terminator toy line is Bill Paxton as the punk in the beginning - "Hey, this guy is a couple cans short of a six pack!"

Terminator "LEGO" Set

So maybe not Lego...this set was released last year by a company called Best Lock. The blocks work with Lego and Mega Bloks...well they should, I haven't tried it yet. But it was a pretty cool set. I haven't opened it yet.

It is a product I never would have expected to get released but it is a lot of fun, especially since it involves the futuristic fighting briefly shown in the Terminator movies.

Terminator Salvation: Tekcom Squad

Four Hot Toys Kyle Reese uniforms from Terminator, assorted soldiers, and a stack of skulls from some Halloween shop, and you have a glimpse into the soldiers that stood against SkyNet and their Terminators.
